Listen To The Land | W Punta de Mita

"Inspired in part by local surf culture, designer Constanze Martens believes that "nature will always be the greatest design element."
Martens - whose grandfather was a member of a community indigenous to the region of Nayarit, Mexico where the W Punta de Mita sits - feels a particular closeness to this project. "The magnificence and the story of the site was always organic," says Martens, whose philosophy was to design the hotel with respect for the land and its resources, with the smallest footprint possible.
The result is a strikingly beautiful hotel with individual villas that appear to grow out of the natural elements around them.
For the design team behind the W Punta de Mita, "It was important for us to see and hear what the land had to tell us," and for "people to make a connection the moment they arrive at the hotel."
