I met a woman who used to leave the TV on for her Cockatoo when she was out. He quickly learned how to repeat ads and would sing jingles. But, it went much further than that. One evening his human Mom asked him what he wanted for dinner and he said, "Pizza." He understood the question and gave his answer. True story.
Cockatoos are extremely intelligent. They may not speak as clearly as an African Grey, but their level of understanding context is remarkable. They are my favourite exotic bird.
I think Buster understands how lucky he is to have been rescued by this loving couple along with 5 dogs (!) and what, 2 other birds? That comes across, no doubt about it.

Buster is the most dedicated worker in Cockatoo Town and he always does an exemplary job! He's worked a lot at the airport, as a salesman (but, not just any salesman - a super salesman) and as a park ranger. Plus, he's traveled the U.S. from Ohio to Virginia to Florida and more! He's the hardest working bird around and doesn't hesitate to bust a move wherever he goes. 🏅🕊💞

I really appreciate that the birb parents put on longer clips....I love these talking treasures but have realized birds ARE loud, that's their thing lol, and you have to love constant chatter to be a good mom to a birb. I don't even turn on background music lol, I definitely need to be a donor to rescues, but not an owner.

I watch all the cockatoos on TH-cam - Max, Barney, Onni, Joseph, Benjamin - out of all of them I can understand Buster the most. I mean, I can get quite a few of his words per rant. I love them all and wish my circumstances were different so I could rescue one.
Thank you, we think for a cockatoo he speaks pretty well too. I know they like to rant but I think he must've lived with someone that fussed a lot with each other. Awwww...Buster needs toys! April at Parrot Playhouse makes them. I don't know the prices but they are all safe for parrots. She has 8 or so herself. One of them is a rescue that was abused. Her name is Victoria Cockatoo. Great gal.

Awe I love the look parrots get on their faces when they know they are safe, very much loved, and everything is peaceful in their life. When you were spoon feeding him, he had that look. The look that everyone gets in those mundane, perfect little moments that are heavenly blissful. Those little moments that are remembered for life. 💖😍💖 I miss my little quaker parrot so much. Always made me melt when he got that look on his face.
