I operated a machine similar to this in real life... The front window of that machine is 8ft tall and 4ft wide... Lol
I've had this for nearly a year and have been kinda scared to build it as I've never built Technic before, so it was encouraging to hear the situation with your wife building it without any issues.
Technic has changed SO much since I built Technic sets.
That is the thiccest crane I’ve ever seen
Oof
*Excavator
I never knew Kermit the Frog played with a LG TC LB R9800
lenny man haha I know right
The comment of the month XD
I can't unhear it
He does sound like Kermit omg 😂
Ouch! XD
Thank you for a very nice, informative video. Before investing in this set, I believe it helps to see a video of this quality.
I am a technics fan and enthusiast. Although I at present dont yet own this set, I stand amazed at the quality, functions that the set offers.
The video has definitely provided me with a very clear picture of the completed product. Was easy to understand and helpful.
Technic figure scale? This is not even mini figure scale. Those things are huge IRL
Height-for-height it's close to 1:1 for minifigures. A real human is a bit over half the height of the tracks, just like a minifig
A mini-figure fits in the cabin chair (just). So that works for me.
@@pieterwasalreadytaken I have a Lego Star Wars Stormtrooper driving mine :)
That excavator was designed to dig at a wall not the ground so it won't get much of the ground where it would have better function if it was digging at a wall
Damn this thing is sophisticated. Good job Lego.
Enjoyed your video. When I retired last year, my employer . . . LIEBHERR . . . yes I worked for the real LIEBHERR on the real excavators and face-shovels. I wanted to highlight the issue you (and many others) experienced when trying to 'dig' a bucket load. The issue is in the true name for these types of diggers, they are known as FACE-SHOVEL excavator diggers. They are designed to remove material from quarry faces . . . . not to load material from open ground level. The material is mostly 'blown away' during the quarry work, and then the blown material is loaded by a FACE-SHOVEL controlling the machine's face-shovel bucket to collect material by working against the face of quarry wall so the material is restrained. So when you use the LEGO R9800 it is best to put a brick behind the heaped material to stop it being pushed away from machine. I just today completed pack three of the build and tested all the functions, superb. I am on pack four of my build tomorrow. Nice video.
Yes, each tread counts as an official Lego brick.
We need top 10 Mocs of the week for the last month
Technic is awesome!
I have many sets and give it an AAA+++
Although the number of bricks might seem intimidating it's actually not very difficult to build. Yes it will take a few multi hour sessions.
"pneumatic pieces"
they're those linear actuators, nothing pneumatic in this set.
Jaap Aap well maybe he referred to the real thing which is pneumatic
@@paavogranstrom1204 you are wrong...it is hydraulic in real life!!!!!
Jakob Hässler thats what I meant if I said it wrong😅
Cool liebherr excavator !!!
Finally!! Someone who knows the difference between pneumatic(air) and hydraulic(oil)!!
I dare you to make a fully motorised version of the transformers Revenge of the fallen devastator using this model, recoloured.
Maybe red? (Totaly random)
@@majacharman3692 hehe
Such cool things you can do!
I hope this set restores my faith in technic after I bought the bucket wheel powerless vator
Some British Guy ya the clutches are to weak to handle it. Keeps slipping
Yea it's so slow that it almost feels like a gimmick lol. Still a cool display model though
Alex Wright yep it sure is most of the time it just sits on my shelf
Ray Romano loves his Lego
It's mining scale! 😂
It is actually regular minifigure scale - try it 😅
I bought the lego excavator bucket and now i hate myself for it the build is so strong yet expensive
This is one impressive Lego Technic set, and the machine in real life is also a behemoth! Basically a 5-6 story building on tracks! I'm not sure if it's minifig scale, but probably close to it, one of the biggest machines humans have ever built, aside from an aircraft carrier, cool review, Jack!
Very cool
So cool
I bought this and it's great
I think the bucked is placed wonky. Shouldnd the lower side pinholes fit right beneath the side panels? Usually there shouldnd be any open space when the bucked is closed.
Agreed, the bucket scoop should be slightly higher. When you follow the instructions correctly the bucket scoop and a bucket base form a tight seal without any gap.
I also bought the model and the bucket edges are slightly bent in so you cannot close the bucket 100%. This is my only complaint.
You are correct
It is Liebherr. I before E
They aren't pneumatic. They are mechanical linear actuators (a jack screw in a tube)....
Im still trying to figure out why does it have to be 10m or 33feet to have it going ....but wen i saw this and the people who build it wasnt even that distance away wen they showed the host of some talk show ?
So can some1 please tell me why ...?
Mine should arrive today :) it’s damn expensive though! Still cheaper then some of the Star Wars kits....
I don't know why people keep saying is setters over priced yes it's a lot of money but for what you get it is well value
Bradley perry True I haven’t finished mine but it’s high quality and is really clever. It’s a big model too so their is value in that.
"Liebherr"
Now make it in red and we have Scavenger from Transformers ROTF!
Um he kinda has demolisher right now
@@legoobi-wankenobi oh right I forgot there were 2 of them
Question how would devastater look with a white body
@@legoobi-wankenobi like a giant storm trooper monster
Kermit is that you?
Ahhhhhh!!!! The bucket is built wrong!
I guess the light wasn't made by Technics?
Is it remote controlled ?
The lack of Pneumatic functions is a dealbreaker, i'm not a big fan of these new mechanical actuators.
Ok. But the mechanical actuators allow way more precise movements.
When is going to be another fan MOC video?
Can you do an updated Spider-Man collection video
Not the LevelCap lego bomb
This was loads of fun to mess around with!
Agreed, play value is excellent.
those are not pneumatic pistoms they're ball joint actuators.
Linear actuators
Without ball joint.
And the 42098set video?
Ny wife would never ever be able to put this together. She always try putting stuff together without reading the instructions. That leaves me to try and fix the mess 🤔
How many pneumatic pumps does it have and does it come with air tanks?
it's not pneumatic, there isn't any pumps or anything, irl it is pneumatic but the pneumatic system (from Lego) aren't used in this set, they're linear actuators turned by the motors directly, the "pneumatics" are just cosmetic
the 42080 HAS the pneumatic ststem
The only way this set could be better is if it had a camera
Tammy Mathciano then put one in yours. Post a video when your done please
Me : having to build a automatic stamp machine with pneumatic pistons and sensors as part of my final exam last year
Lego in 2019 : look at this brand new technology!!!
Me: guys youre a little late
( i know it doesnt compare , this is meant to be a joke...)
You have got it the wrong way round
Kermit
No sound module ??
Got this set a day ago finished the treads but I’m having a problem connecting to the liebherr anyone know a fix
I get that problem sometimes as well, completely restarting the app tends to work for me.
Richard Xiong I had to swap out the control pack things and then it worked don’t understand why
That looks sssspicy
3:15
0:22 wdym it’s duplo
how long takes to build this
It took me about 20 hours.
The Chinese are back $183 for a clone
I might have to get this one! I am however concerned about the App. Is there a chance that in like 6-7 years you may not be able to even use the set if the app is ever taken off the app store?
Possible but unlikely. Android apps are frequently ported as apk files to other websites, bypassing the Play Store altogether. I do not believe there is a comparable feature for iOS.
@@treinenliefde Okay good, I use android so I guess I'm likely in the clear. Thank you!
So I bought it and have it built and functioning already. Not too terribly challenging to complete. The final result is great. I absolutely love the set!
Wait, is this official set ? Or just a mod
its official. he mentioned the price in the beginning. im sure itll collect plenty of dust in the corner of whoever buys it. the spare parts itll give will be nice, though.
@@onepman nice. i just checked the price... wow. not cheap at all...
The company is called "LIEbherr", not "LEIbherr".
It's not calibrated correctly
Stop moving the thing around!!! 13:47
It's pronounced: Leeb-her.
The scope test you do is rubbish. The real machine is not designed to dig or scope from the ground like that. It's designed to cut and scope the side of cliff hence why the bucket sits as a it does
I didn't finish watching video at this point, but I seem to be the only person concerned and upset about how wide the arm is.
they spelt it wrong
