I bought this album in '97 when I was 17. I've never stopped listening to it, it's the best ever. I was lucky enough to see the 20th anniversary live performance of the full album. During this song, I had to lean forward as I was overwhelmed, and wanted to curb any embarrassment in front of my girlfriend and best mate - turns out after the gig that they were just the same. A magnificent piece of music from an awesome album.
20th anniversary tour was amazing. Saw it in Manchester at the Apollo along with the lads from Elbow and various other Manchester music legends in attendance. It was sublime and this track ^ sounded as raw as the original recording. Beautiful
Saw them do this in 97/8 in the Albert hall, travelled over from Dublin on the ferry and bussed it.Amazing profound experience on ecstasy.Me and my girlfriend met this old money couple who had a box and went anytime they wanted,they owned it, people were crying and the building shook.
This album, again and again, hits me in a unique way because of that truth. we all are trying to get through each day, and the days keep kicking us when were already down.. and it's nothing to demonize when someone tries to find ways to take the pain away.. sometimes those things end us, but to try anyways despite the risks is one of the most human things about being human. life hurts in tragically cruel ways.. kudos to anyone still fighting to take the pain away.
Wikipedia says this is the original version that couldn't be released at the time as it had some copywrite issues, so this is the original but also the reissue. The original is pretty damn similar......
From what I can tell, this version is ten seconds longer than then edit and features a direct interpolation of Can't Help Falling In Love at the very end that the edit cuts off
This song was playing when me and my girlfriend broke up, but instead of feeling hurt when I hear it; it gives me strength to stay in love with her and to honor her until the day I die, even though we're long gone. It's a beautiful song, I love it so much. Thanks for putting it up
This was the originally *recorded version, and was eventually cleared to be on the reissue by the Presley estate. The originally *released version only differed by replacing "Wisemen say..." with "I've been told..."
actually, the version i've always known differs in other ways, including other lyrics relevant to the fools rush in song. (so, the original *release goes: "i've been told, only fools rush in, only fools rush in, but i don't believe, i don't believe. i could still fall in love with you.") at first i couldn't put my finger on the part that was different at all, when i listened to this, it just seemed exactly the same. which makes a bit of sense since this is what it was apparently "meant to be" =D

It took me years to realise it but as awesome as this song is the best bit is the timing and sound of the NASA style beeps. It's the little things.
