How fun is that deck!! I bet it’s lovely at night too, with the string lights on! I love seeing all of the plants at maturity!! I’ve always been an over planter for my containers, then they get crowded, and look awful around mid-late summer. Little did I realize, until discovering your channel, how much they really depend on being fed! Thank you so much for making the time to share so much great information!!

Fertilizer can make a big difference.
We've had some wonderful evenings on that deck!

Nice! That midnight gold double petunia is so hard to find. It's my favorite. There is a new one out, it's purple and white. Even more beautiful!

Beautiful planters. So you are getting half day sun or does your deck face south? Your Hummingbird Falls looks fantastic. I quickly killed a hanging basket of it last year, so this year, I am taking the hanging basket inside on rainy days and I am trying it in some large containers with agastache and Diamond Frost. It really is preferred by my few hummingbirds, along with the Rockin Purple and Black and Bloom Salvia, but they quickly go to the hummingbird feeders after working the salvias (have lots of varieties). I had honeybells last year which does bloom a lot, but it was low to the ground and my hummers were not interested. This year instead, I got several Firecracker Fuschia to try and the variegated foliage is beautiful. They are just starting to bloom, and the few hummers I have haven't noticed them or the purple scaveloa. Enjoyed seeing your combinations.

I am so glad I found your channel! Beautiful flowers!! I do have a question. I really want to plant a Cuphea for my hummers. What is the appropriate size container for a pot or hanging basket? I had never heard of this plant before I saw your videos! I'm in zone 8a.

In a 12” I go with one vermilionaire. Other varieties I go with one or two.

Can you over-winter the King Tut grass inside an apartment? I've had really good luck over-wintering my Dracaena spikes, ferns, and Asparagus ferns indoors.
This winter, I had a calibrachoa in the same pot as the spike, and while it went dormant over winter, it started reblooming two to three weeks after I put it outside -- that was a happy surprise :) There is verbena in that pot as well, and while it has stayed green, it hasn't flowered yet.

Love the floral plants. I need to try the King Tut plant. Is this more of a shade growing plant? It's beautiful!

      King Tut prefers more sun.
