This basically is the best video of all time. I have been inspired by this and went and for a 450x. Sweet helicopter that is a great performer. Now, if I could just fly like this!
Thanks Boss! 4 giving the Blade 450 X a little Love! I Personally like All things RC and own allegiance to no one brand. It's always cool for me to see a World Class RC Pilot put an RTF through its paces.
Dude, (I'm a beginner) and you make me feel like I'll never be able to do that!!! I own a WLtoys v911 for practice while my v912 sits on a shelf, trying to gain confidence. After viewing this, it's like back to flight school 101 for me!
Bert is the best.. best person.. best pilot.. best of the best.. what a award winning guy.. someone needs to give that guy some stuff... Nobel prize perhaps... i don't know were just going to do some 3d here.. 3d spectacular.. youz.. youz a guy.. youzah good guy Bert ..
Awesome flying! Nice to see that a moderately priced heli like the Blade 450X can keep up with flying like yours! I'm not into the 3D thing as I just don't have the hours to spend on a simulator anyway, but I definitely can appreciate the dedication it takes to fly like this!
I'm flying for 2 years now this was my first 450 but when I started getting good and doing 3d with it I blew up the motor then I repaired it and blew it up again. Trust me if he does 10 of those flights with a 450x it will die as well
I did the exact same thing and the transition was perfect...works out really good! So now I have the MCPX for backyard fun , a 450X stock and loving it and I also modified a 450 3D to FBL with Align DFC head and AR7200BX. Flies great also but that one needs a little fine tuning to make it perfect. I just started about 1 month ago and stripping down a 450 3D to convert it to FBL was a great project that I learned alot from.
This is different then blades before. I have flown one of these and the power is there bone stock, for sure. They fly very well with no upgrades needed.
Just got one of these.... really cool and as Bert says very little setup, however not sure why they say in the manual 85% DR for idle up and 100% DR for Normal which is a bit weird... as you would want 100% DR for any idle up..position , but still cant wait to start some tic toc with it...Great flying Bert!!!!
No the DX18 is not overpriced imo. That radio competes with radios twice as much, it truly is a awesome radio and worthwhile investment if you plane on being in the hobby for any length of time.
Bert, you are really amazing at flying heli"s.. I bought the blade Mcpx BL and love doing basic 3d with it.. I would like to see you put a video with the Mcpx BL...Happy flying..
Sweet Bert! Im about to pick one up from my friend this weekend. Really impressed with it. Ive got (2) 230Ss and I love those things so it was time to step up! I do have a alzrc fast devil 380 which I have flown about 6 or 7 times. I cant do 3D..yet but quite frankly Im scared of the devil, its so smooth and got so much power all Ive done is basically hovered it. It has the microbeast, which the 450 has it as well. Im curious what is the difference between the two, Im just amazed how smooth the devil is. BTW I know your a SAB guy and my next buy is going to be the mini comet, Im determined to buy it and fly it. Well drop a comment if you get a chance, I know your a busy man, rock on brutha your awesome!!
Hey Jim, good to hear. I can't comment on the Devil because I hate clones and would never support a company that slowly destroys the hobby, but my best advice would be to move up to something larger than a Mini Comet, something like a 500 size or even 570. 570 is the best size there is, stable, large enough to feel almost like a 700 class machine, but with a single battery pack!
Thankyou for taking your time to respond to me. I apoligize about the Devil, that will be my first & last one. Well to have something that feels like a 700!!! Cant go wrong with that! All the SAB 570s are beautiful looking, sounds like a plan. I will let you know when I get one, thankyou for your time sir!
You can use the same training gear for this one as what you would on the Blade 450 3D. If you are deciding between this and the 450 3D, just get this one.
No. An autorotation (gliding the helicopter) with the motor off. You can hear the click when he turns it off from the transmitter. Most 450 size helicopters can do this but it isn't easy since the blades are small and the weight of the helicopter is also small.
Hi Bert, I'm hoping to meet you at IRCHA. I was wondering if you set this up as user defined, and set up the DR, Expo, and Travel in your TX, or if you used the prestes, and went pro, or Extreme? also, One of the parameters, allows for it fly fly like a LFybarred. do you remember is you adjusted that, and what setting you put it on? I have a 360CFX, and I need to get it set up more aggressive. I mean its great now, But it wants to travel to far on aileron Tic docs, instead of rolling over on it's self. I like for my Helis to flip right over, not travel forward to flip. This is my first Beast X. I'm used to setting up the Brain. thanks
Hey Bert just wondering what settings you ran on this flight. I just want to start off flying this bird with the settings you used. Were you in extreme mode on the BeastX?
Not so much with this one. It actually has the power to back it up. Mine will climb to rooftop level of a three-story building in about one second on an idle-up pitch pump from a ground effect hover on the stock 440H and 10T pinion. Curiosity speaking, what do you mean, 'normal Blade'? Just bashing the brand (which, admittedly, has mostly been sub-par in stock form until now), when a good chunk of those who've flown both a B450X and an Align 450 3GX prefer the Blade's performance?
I just got one. need to balance the blades and I'll be good to go. at what stick position are you getting lift? I seem to be lifting at about 3/4 stick with stock dx6i settings. my 4503d lifts at mid stick.
uhm, no, have you ever flown one? i highly doubt... i already got 2 of them and theyre awesome, really! i really dont understand why everyone in the forums hate this heli... and btw: no, i'm not sponsored by horizon hobbies ;D
For sure, it doesn't have the power as something like a 450 but it defenetely has a good amount of power... however to do stuff like tictoc's you need good pitch management though btw I've got around 90, maybe even close to 100 flights so far on mine, no problems whatsoever... head is still quite tight, too
Can someone help??!! Bert u make me angry in a good way your so good! Hahaha and u make me jealous cuz u can set them up so easy iv been fighting my brand new trex700 le with a microbeast and its making me so mad im about to give up on it! Does anyone know how to get the tail to hold iv done everything! Im new to the whole flybarless system and its been nothing but problems
I just started my heli journey. watching vids like this make me feel like a toddler in high school.
This basically is the best video of all time. I have been inspired by this and went and for a 450x. Sweet helicopter that is a great performer. Now, if I could just fly like this!

8yrs later I’m still enjoying this video is fire 🔥
What you do… is borderline supernatural. INCREDIBLE!
That piro loop is awesome.
Great vid! Had to give that a LIKE, not because I'm a Blade fan but because of how well it was presented great job Bert!!
HEY MAN. I LOVE YOU IAM A BIG FAN. JUST LIKE A FREND NO PANIC☺😁. NICE JOB. I WILL BUY NEXT WEEK THE 450X V2. THANK YOU FOR THE VID.
Yes Bert, I like hearing you give a brief discussion on what's up. Nice job and incredible skills brother.
Dude, (I'm a beginner) and you make me feel like I'll never be able to do that!!! I own a WLtoys v911 for practice while my v912 sits on a shelf, trying to gain confidence. After viewing this, it's like back to flight school 101 for me!
That is just sick 3D brother !!! I've had Blade SR for a year now and still struggling. Wow. Thanks for the impressive video.
Bert is the best.. best person.. best pilot.. best of the best.. what a award winning guy.. someone needs to give that guy some stuff... Nobel prize perhaps... i don't know were just going to do some 3d here.. 3d spectacular.. youz.. youz a guy.. youzah good guy Bert ..
Unbelievable flying! !
just a big fat wow!!!!!!!! from me i think the blade 450x is the nicest looking heli on the market cant wait to get 1
Awesome flying! Nice to see that a moderately priced heli like the Blade 450X can keep up with flying like yours! I'm not into the 3D thing as I just don't have the hours to spend on a simulator anyway, but I definitely can appreciate the dedication it takes to fly like this!
very nice Bert, you make it look so easy!!!!
Crikey Bert....amazing.
I am still flying 450x , trying to get this good!
I'm flying for 2 years now this was my first 450 but when I started getting good and doing 3d with it I blew up the motor then I repaired it and blew it up again. Trust me if he does 10 of those flights with a 450x it will die as well
That is awesome control well done great video
Yes, the 450x is a capable bird. VERY capable especially in the hands of a pro pilot. Good job Bert. -Markus R.
Unbelievable skills.. Great job Bert 💪🏼💪🏼
I did the exact same thing and the transition was perfect...works out really good!

Heck yes it will do an auto.
It does them very nicely.
All stock it's a very hot bird out of the box.
I got dizzy watching this. Great flying man
As usual, very nice flying Bert!
i really love listening to Bert talk while he does harder smack then i'll ever be able to do in full concentration.
Well done - it would be great to see a vid of you and the 300 X, too, Bert. Thanks for the vid!
wow that's really good flying and the pilot seems so nonchalant
Awesome flight man! I didn't think you'd have enough time to do that turn around on the auto. You brought it down fast as hell. Nice flight as always.
Sweet flying
This is different then blades before. I have flown one of these and the power is there bone stock, for sure. They fly very well with no upgrades needed.
Bert for president
Your the man,B. I've been flying since June 2012 just started loops and inverted flight. Someday....... Look out for me.
Great Bert....
Friends cant believe thats a BLADE is that smack talk. And what happened to just taking it easy amazing flying
Just got one of these.... really cool and as Bert says very little setup, however not sure why they say in the manual 85% DR for idle up and 100% DR for Normal which is a bit weird... as you would want 100% DR for any idle up..position , but still cant wait to start some tic toc with it...Great flying Bert!!!!
so what did you do to it in those 5 minutes???
Nice flying demo Bert! I bet you could do 3D with the box it came in.
No the DX18 is not overpriced imo. That radio competes with radios twice as much, it truly is a awesome radio and worthwhile investment if you plane on being in the hobby for any length of time.
"Not doing anything technical" 2:47 are you kidding me!!! WOW!! I'm still trying to hover?!? LOL
Nice flying!
I am very happy with this heli! It flies like a big BL mCPX ; )
Bert!!!! Big fan, lets see some smack on the 130x!
hell, i wanna see the Blade 130X =D
amazing flight ... as always :-)
beyond control !!
Bert, you are really amazing at flying heli"s.. I bought the blade Mcpx BL and love doing basic 3d with it.. I would like to see you put a video with the Mcpx BL...Happy flying..

wow amazing !!
love the auto at the end incredible !!! wish I wish I could do some 3D but I am still just flying my 450X in figure 8's :)
best stock 450 3d i've ever seen ;D

you are really good
"That's was low " hehe :D
You make anything fly like a Goblin! My T-rex 450 can't do this!
Hi Bert, I'm hoping to meet you at IRCHA. PallidBoy - he meant "auto rotation" --> bringing the heli to the ground with no throttle (neither damage^^)
Ok for real how many times did you crash trying to make this video damn
SOLD!
Hey Bert just wondering what settings you ran on this flight. I just want to start off flying this bird with the settings you used. Were you in extreme mode on the BeastX?
Unreal.
performance is amazing hard to believe that is out of box.
Doesn't fly like a beginner helicopter!
There is one on the blade heli site. It's a piece of cake to set up. If you can afford it go with the dx7. I wish I could have.
Not so much with this one. It actually has the power to back it up. Mine will climb to rooftop level of a three-story building in about one second on an idle-up pitch pump from a ground effect hover on the stock 440H and 10T pinion.

What did you mean at the end by an auto? Did the heli fly back to base using GPS?
I just got one. need to balance the blades and I'll be good to go. at what stick position are you getting lift? I seem to be lifting at about 3/4 stick with stock dx6i settings. my 4503d lifts at mid stick.
Really cooooool :-) Bert
Nice Helikopter ! Nice price
@55t1
For some reason Flybarless helicopters are more stable and easier to fly then Fly bar helicopters.
Damn, somebody help me put my eyeballs back into my head!
hab 3 blades hier @ home, aber ich denke bald soll sich mal ein goblin fireball in die runde gesellen :)
uhm, no, have you ever flown one? i highly doubt... i already got 2 of them and theyre awesome, really! i really dont understand why everyone in the forums hate this heli... and btw: no, i'm not sponsored by horizon hobbies ;D
wow now that's nice
Like dam dude you Gita be the best
Lol, the tail servo is DS76T. T for tiny
That was cool :)
For sure, it doesn't have the power as something like a 450 but it defenetely has a good amount of power... however to do stuff like tictoc's you need good pitch management though btw I've got around 90, maybe even close to 100 flights so far on mine, no problems whatsoever... head is still quite tight, too
how the fuck are those movements even physicly capable!?!
Nice!
real Engine
Can someone help??!! Bert u make me angry in a good way your so good! Hahaha and u make me jealous cuz u can set them up so easy iv been fighting my brand new trex700 le with a microbeast and its making me so mad im about to give up on it! Does anyone know how to get the tail to hold iv done everything! Im new to the whole flybarless system and its been nothing but problems
Where di you buy the dx18? It's not out till august.
How many years flying expirience do you have?
Good review... what a salesman.
Im sorry but how the,ok sorry for swearing, do you fly that well?
What heli do u recommend to begin with fixed pitch?
i have indeed. i hate the fact that they bog under load and the head goes sloppy after about 50 flights
Stock everything? pinion, motor, esc, battery?
Where's the 130X video?
Hey bert what are the down falls on the 450 x
the still no 130x video up =( kinda sad.... lol
grande
How long does it take for a total beginner to be able to do that, considering an average learner?
I've been flying 3D for about 2 months, and it doesn't very long to get into 3D, but flying pretty much flawless like that probably takes years.
+canderson72 At least 2 years. Simulator practice will help shorten the learning curve.
"not doing anything too technical".... oh really?
Bad ass
Is DX18 over priced?
someone please video tape his hands, I want to see that madness
nice piros
God damn...
wow it's really hard to believe that it's a blade xD
HAHAHAHAHA Bert has a goblin hat on.
