450 was down due to a crushed header pipe, thankfully enduro noob was kind enough to loan me his crf230 for this ride - had a blast! Enduro noobs channel: / @enduronoob
that CRF230 is right in its element there , ive just bought one and ive ridden it more in one week than i have ridden my KTM 250sx in a year , its a great bike for people like me that have have gotten old or lost their confidence
mac union true, I don’t mix much gas and oil anymore, still love that 2 stroke hit but I’m more of a 4 stroke guy now. Plus I can street ride an XR etc. I’d love to find an 85 XR350 to fix up and hot rod. That would be a quick little woods machine
this video does not do the 230 justice, the trail was far to easy honestly looked like a beginners trail just riding through paddocks the whole time. take the bike on a more difficult trail and you'll see the 230 truly shine in the slower more technical areas where on a bigger bike you constantly have to wrestle it through while a 230 will chug on through or up anything you throw at it
i just purchased a 230 and my brother has a ktm sxf250r , and we went trail riding. he has 200% more difficulty than i do on trails and he even fell over a few times in spots i just hovered over. he destroys me on track though 😂
A bone stock crf230f or ttr230 may be slow. But proper re-jetting/ cheap mods will bring this bike to life. Not to mention how cheap they are compared to modern enduro bikes, and you don't need to constantly work on them
Yeah stock they are kinda slow lol i had a worked bayou 220 that would leave 230s with my fat ass riding. Could also leave 350 4x4 bikes and hang with 400 4x4 bikes
People hate on these bikes but in the tight trails they rip. You can push them 110% vs their big 450's where you can't even push them 50% in the woods. Not to mention how cheap they are to purchase.
Jake Waggoner First time I rode a dirt bike was a 230 in the woods and I reached its limits pretty quickly. Can’t climb up a hill to save its life, suspension is too soft, bike doesn’t breathe at all from factory, and every single part seems to bend or break pretty easily.
Explore with Zac the bike has a pretty big fly wheel for what it is, and plenty of grunt for its weight, it's a beast at hill climbs , can even climb big sand dunes idk what ur on about
I feel bad for you, man! You were clearly stuck riding among a bunch of amateurs or something, until you finally got up front. What was going on? Most of them were riding so slow. Great video, it really does show the 230f is a very capable motorcycle.
The lil red bike that could ! ! That motor dont' know quit, maybe not the wildest thing you've had between your legs, but its steady makin time, quite relaxing motor pace. Liked later in vid on some of the climbs instead of downshifting just tractoring out the taller gear, and it worked !! could take a nap listening to this, nice vid
I don't care what anyone says, the 230 is one of the most all around fun bikes there is! Had a CRF for awhile, and now have the blue brother version TTR230. Never been happier! Electric start, cheap and easy to maintain, not broken down all the time. The only bike I need! I've ridden everything from old XR's to the fire breathing 500cc 2 strokes, but I feel more in my element on the little 230, it's easy to throw around and doesn't have that arm ripping power of the big thumpers and 2T's that just wears you out after a short ride.
Had a CRF230F, it's a great bike, and I kinda miss having it around. Upgraded to a 450x now. But it's just a whole different feel. I don't know why these bikes get so much trash talk. They were, after all, a direct replacement for the XR 250, which was highly praised night and day. Although I liked the XR 250, I think the CRF230F is on par with it, and in some ways surpasses it. My friends would say it's a girls bike. But it didn't have any problems smoking my buddies KX125 on our homemade track.
Own one of these for about 10 years til I moved to Oregon. It really woke it up with a front sprocket, air filter, carb and exhaust. Only complaint I ever really had was the bars were far to short (width). Put some bigger bars and rode the hell out of that bike. In it's lifetime I think the only things that ever broke were minor things like brake levers, a shifter got bent once and I got a flat tire.
Daniel Durazo the 230 is a great start bike it’s very forgiving and easy to ride from stock it doesn’t have a huge amount of power but enough to take it places you would never of thought you could go. If you remove the spark suppressor and rejet the cab it will go a lot better. Best of all its low maintenance and the engine is bulletproof. Down side is suspension is on the soft side but for a 1st bike will be fine
Hey Guy’s, don’t worry about the speed. One of these bikes being ridden by a skilled rider can smoke a inexperienced rider on trails. It’s 80 percent rider skill, 20 percent bike. Ride one and make the call. It’s much more fun riding a slow bike fast, than riding a fast bike slow.
I’m 14 and I have a 2006 crf230f and I love that bike. It goes through and up everything. It has plenty of power and will easily keep up with my friends yz250f. And overall the bike just feels awesome. I’m gonna put a pro circuit pipe and some others goodies on it
Jeremy 45, the bike would be a perfect fit! I’m the same height but I weigh a little less. The bike fits me good and it would fit u too! And if u do want a 230 u can find them for a very good low price on Craigslist and they are a very, VERY reliable bike! I got mine brand new last year and the only thing that went wrong with it was the handlebars bent, but that was my fault! But, yes the bike would be a great fit for u!
Its more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. This bike is a clear example of that. You can push this bike 100% and be having the time of your life, even if you're not going fast. But if you run a faster bike at the same speed it's not as exciting because you're not running through gears.
im actually looking to get one of these bikes, loved the video of it ty for doing it.. as for the haters they are cry asses who are butt hurt over someone who has skill and they dont.. dont mind the turds
when you pass people on smaller bikes give them some space cuz anything smaller than a 150 or 125 has tiny wheels which are really hard to control. I used to ride a lil bike cr80 and the struggle was real until i switched to quads and now that im grown i just got a crf 230
My old cr150r would have smoked the 230 as well but they are different engines, mx'ers have loads of power, the 230 is for trail riding at leisure, not racing.
It looks like a friendly ride, lots of kids there, still looks fun, and those “noobs” are just trying to have fun. Just Becuase you ride doesn’t mean you have to be good at it lol
The crf230 is a great little bike, but to say it’s fast is ridiculous. It’s a bike for beginners. Any 85 2 stroke will smoke it. Now that being said, they are a very reliable trail bike that doesn’t require a lot of maintenance.
Man i fucken love 230s. Because you can casually cruz around the farm not pissing of any of the neighbours. But if ya feelin rowdy ya can yank that throttle and your off. And if thats not enough. You can do what i did and jet the carb. Port the intake. And remove the baffle. These bikes are so easy to rip around.
Have look at my channel for some 230crf trail riding and shes definitely surprised me of what the 230 can do honestly. Just a beast of bike mine has gone through mud holes, dropped in the ocean and huge hill climbs
I learned to ride on the street bikes (zx6r) dirt bikes still make me worried due to how you ride them different. Looks like this does well I'm trails which is what I want to learn doing.
