    I believe that more at home jobs need to be created. Being a parent is already a full time job and nobody wants to miss their child growing up or leave them

      Actually right now the number of online jobs has sky-rocketed thanks to Covid and the shutdowns... companies and individuals have learned that they do not need to be in the building to make money... which is why I believe it is so difficult to get individuals to return to the "normal" work schedule.

    I love how none of these ideas take away too much time. I’m always looking for little ways to contribute financially to my family but as a stay at home mom of a toddler and a baby on the way, I don’t want to do something that pulls me away from my children and the house because I consider that my first job!

    Do online grocery shopping so not tempted to buy extra walking the aisles, Costco bulk groceries and household goods, use coupons only for things you need and not buy something you don’t just because there’s a coupon, meal prep to reduce take out or last minute fast food, meal plan around seasonal sales. Use reusable containers for kid’s lunches and snacks, saves money and less garbage. I work part time at the local Y during school hours, covers my gym membership and a couple hundred dollars a week and keeps me social and networking and resume active.

      And most importantly raise kids that do chores. Have them understand that parents go to work to make money for the basics and the kids help with chores so we don’t have to hire out. And when they help with chores we can move money around for things like candy, movies, team sports, vacations, etc. simple terms they can understand. Difference of do they want to eat hamburgers vs a steak, fish sticks or lobster.

    FYI, you are wrong when you say 50 weeks because of vacations... when you pay childcare you pay for the weeks and days you are not there.. you are paying for your spot at the kidcare. So don't think you get a break paying. That said I have seen daycares that allow a week or 2 a year upaid for a vacation, but make sure your daycare allows that.

    Here's some tips as well
    -- get a Sam's club membership to save on groceries
    - learn to sell on eBay / Facebook
    - and maybe find a side hustle like door dash deliverys or even if get a 1-2 day week part time job if have any time at all to do so
    *** The surveys are just energy draining to do for me 😂

    Glad to see you do this video. I see all the time all the comments about the wife going to work on Dave's videos of people calling in. A stay at home mom is so underrated as the value they bring to the family. Esp if have multiple kids in the house. In my situation, it allows me to be able to work overtime if needed knowing that the kids are being taken care of at my home instead of daycare that closes. Also lost time from work for all the different appointments involved with kids if the mom does work a 9-5 job. And to add, the virtual learning due to covid this year just adds even more value to the mom at home.

      language and society teach us to pay attention to ourselves first. So, if I may speak on her behalf. She may just say "MOM" because she is in fact, a woman, so it may just be how she relates to what she is speaking on.. but if that wasn't the reasoning for it, .. then... yeah... sorry to be the one to tell you this.. but as men... we don't matter unless we are needed. unfortunately this is the way the world works.

  • @jodra5999
    @jodra5999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Was really hoping for more about "making extra money". Way over half of your video had nothing to do with it. Saving money isn't the same as making it. The precondition in the title is you are a stay at home parent so there really isn't a need to categorize or explain it as somehow making money. It is already a given in the title you are staying at home. Would have been better to make a separate video of the benefits of stay at home.

    Why is it always assumed working mom's put their children in daycare and outsource housekeeping? That's not the case for most working moms. My husband and I worked opposite schedules and I did most of the housework with his help. Literally did everything a stay at home mom does with 50 less hours to do it.

    • @ChristieJo
      @ChristieJo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sabbath Rest Ok. But that still doesn't change the fact that everyone always thinks all working mom's have a maid and chef! I do not know any working mom's who have those. But... I do know stay at home moms with a once a week maid service. Seems backwards if you ask me.

  • @morganadams4238

      I perceived she was saying that some people with paid employment/careers may outsource to make up for time spent working their paid jobs. For those not working a paid job but focusing on household and family tasks, they are saving money by not outsourcing.
