I admire and respect all the talented young people here but, Melanie's just got that magical 'something special' that allows her to flit and float through all her performances. She's a prima evolving!
I think it's more important to be on time with the music than to focus on executing a higher number of turns. Also pay more attention to her arms and form in this variation. ❤
I thought she was on time with the music. It's also a variation that she's playing around with in class here-- she would polish it up more for a stage performance. Overall, I thought she danced it beautifully. (Although like Slawomir, I am partial to Parker's rendition.)
@@justcogitatingI think it’s just the part at 0:53 musically it suffered a bit to make room for the turns, the version Olga Smirnova does where the preparation is quicker is more musical imo
I agree, and it looks a little off to have 7 pirouettes followed by a double. But this was class and that's the place to experiment and have fun with the variation. For a performance it would be different.@@lionsmaine1238
Totally agree. Ballet loses its elegance and precision when all the focus is on the turns….way too common in ballet today. I can imagine Melanie could be gorgeous all the way around if she refined every part of this and didn’t focus so much on knocking out as many turns as possible in the timing (which throws the timing off).
U Melanii są prfekcyjne obroty i dobra plastyka tańca. Trzeba dopracować ostatnią część tańca, gdyż powinna być ona bardziej energiczna, zgodna z charakterem muzyki. Dobrym przykładem jest taniec Marii Aleksandrowej z Balszoj Melania has perfect turns and good dance skills. The last part of the dance needs to be refined, as it should be more energetic and consistent with the character of the music. A good example is Maria Alexandrova of Balshoi
I like her, but nothing like russian ballet, I mean, should be less concern about the turns and more concern about elegance and artistical expression; faces are always the same, just my opinion
You are quite right! What's with all the smirking she does, too? Seductive, powerful, enticing? No way! No, as usual, showing off the same old lots of turns does not make a ballet dancer! I am sure you know, but for all yt ballet watchers out there: ballerinas are professional dancers in a professional company. Ballet students are ballet students, and not many of them rise through the ranks to become Prima/Principal if they get into a company. The key word is artistry, which does NOT depend on spinning like a top.

Westerners don’t hate Russians. I am a native-born American who grew up listening to Tchaikovsky, I read Dostoyevsky in literature class in high school, one of my neighbors is Russian, and one of my former coworkers is a wonderful Russian lady. “Russophobia” is a propaganda message to isolate Russian people from the outside world, and is not common in the West. We know the difference between a country’s people and its government, especially if the people can’t choose their leaders.
this is the variation i would have loved to see at prix de lausanne. it shows your amazing talent so much.
agree
Yes, I think she does best in this one!

Love seeing this done so beautifully by such a young ballerina, and having fun. Love the joy in the studio
Wow! She is so graceful!! Beautiful ballerina!
This amount of performance takes years of dedication.
Melanie is really amazing!!!

Turns are fun. She chose well

Beautiful 😭❤
Beautiful and on point or pointe!!! 😉 Ballet 🩰 humor!!! Lovely woman!!! Do you!!! 🎉
you guys throw the term 'ballerina' around pretty lightly--it was a title awarded to certain, excellent, danseuses.
Perfection. ✨️💎✨️
Wow, truly excellent.
I don’t know if Parker was better but he was sassier for sure 🦢🖤🤴
Wow!!! Amazing!!! I love it!!! 💓💓💓
1:02 the only time I saw Melanie do one pirouette only! 😮😮😮
Amazing!!!😊🥰

Outstanding!
Parker obviously did it better 🙄😅🖤
In my opinion, they both did great, Parker has his way of dancing the black swan and so does Melanie. You shouldn’t really judge them like that.
@@AphroditeCabinTen it was a joke, I tried conveying that as much as possible with the emojis 😅 sorry if that offended anyone
@@AphroditeCabinTen
It was clearly a joke. Parker is a guy of the team. People always make jokes about him 😂
I like Alicia doing It too
Bravo 👏
This is the Russian version of the black swan variation. The European Variation was better for her, although she is great here.

Melanie ❤❤❤❤
I NEED THIS VARIATION'S SONG.
Swan Lake, Op. 20: No. 19 Pas de six: Variation V (Moderato; Allegro semplice)
Muy hermosa
Melanie, Russia is Watching 👍♥️🌹
Who is Parker? I'm sure she's lovely but Melanie is a beast.
He’s one of the guys on the team. ‘twas a playful joke. ☺️
❤❤❤❤
Technically is very good❤, but she lacks feelings😢
Very nice as per usualll but where's the fierceness? I think Summer also did this in one of eva's short and she was sassy with ittt as well as parker
Name of the song?💌🌷
what song is this? i can't find it anywhere 😅
In the thumbnail it really looks like her foot is sickled in the retire position.
now parkerssssss

She’s a wonderful ballerina, she was robbed of a place at the Prix de Lausanne trials
I agree, she was much better than the girl from ABT
To be a SWAN is not about spinning... Too much is boring, too...

@@Homerun153 She is smirking because the teacher teased her and said the guy Parker was better than her!🤣🤣🤣🤣💖

What's with the nose
What's with the profile
It’s beautiful and helps her breathe.

She's American. Not English.

The evil coming out of Russia in 2024 is not Tchaikovsky’s fault 🤷♀️
