The lead singer, Pat Monahan, has spoken about this song a few times.Losing his mom to cancer hit him hard, as it does for most who lose their own moms or loved ones. To me it is a song of healing and reflection. Pat Monahan said of this song: "Loss of the most important person in my life was heavy on my mind, and the thought of 'what if no one ever really leaves? What if she's here but different. The idea was, she's back here in the atmosphere." "It was an obvious connection between me and my mother. 'Drops of Jupiter' was as much about me being on a voyage and trying to find out who I am. The best thing we can do about loss of love is find ourselves through it."
"Your best friend always stickin up for you - even when I know you're wrong." How many of us have someone we can say that about? If you do, you are blessed.
I absolutely fell in love with this song the first time I heard it years ago. It was written about his mother that passed away. Great song to forget about our election on Tuesday in the US even its just for a few minutes. Thanks❤Stay safe
Love this song ❤. And it is about his Mom that passed. The permanent scar is one he has on his face. Beautifully written and sung song. Pat has a beautiful voice ❤
Love this song!!! Lyrics are always important to me. Love the meaning of these lyrics. I always thought of a relationship where she was looking for the meaning of her life, looking for what she was missing in life, but didn't find it and came back to him. Hits me where I live. Thanks for your review.
I always loved this song, but it somehow fell through the cracks of my life. Thanks for reminding me what a great song it is. I love your reaction! We never know what's gonna touch us. It's my belief that if you can be moved by art, you're doing something right.
Yeah... it's based on a dream he had about his mother sometime after she passed. I've had those dreams about only 2 people in my life. The dreams where they let you know they're gone, but ok....
Saeed...What can I say about your reaction, but WOW!! So honest, and moving. I'm a senior, and my first time hearing this by Train. Your insightfulness has opened my mind to things less thought of. Thank you for the journey. ❤
Saeed I love that you got the fact that this song is about an alternative theory to heaven which he says is overrated. It’s the universal aspect of our passing. You are right. This is a masterpiece.
@@SaeedReacts.Great reaction the best you did. Yes great song, when it came out it was everywhere even here in Italy. Another very famous song by Train is Hey soul sister
The sign of a great song is one that makes you feel, even for some unknowable reason. I've listened to it, sung it at the top of lungs, so many times since it came out. It's always resonated with me. You've got good taste, my dude.
Love his voice. Next maybe "Hey Soul Sister," their biggest hit, a simple but very Train love song. The official video is worth watching; it doesn't distract you from the song the way 1980s videos do.
I remember loving the song before finding out what and who it was about, then listening to it after that and bawling my eyes out, and now you're making me teary eyed with your reaction lol. I can imagine wondering about people that you love after they pass away and if they actually never left you but they are everywhere and on a journey like the song describes. Everyone could relate to it, it's an anthem 💖 RIP Charlie Colin, Train's bassist until 2003.
Train has many, many hit songs! Try Hey Soul Sister next, or Mississippi, Calling All Angels, Save Me San Francisco, or their version of Whole Lotta Love!!!!
I saw Train sing Dream On by Aerosmith at a small music festival in Pensacola before they made it big. It was raining, and I missed the next 4 days of work because, unbeknownst to me, the sore throat I had was strep. Still worth it.
Awww.. Saeed, your reaction was so honest and pure! Thats a song that plays on my Playlist over and over! Now, you get to enjoy it forever! It's a little gem that sometimes you'll find when you didn't know you were looking for it! ❤
Even if he was just singing lalala I would love it. The music and his tone are mesmerizing. Have loved it since first hearing it. It is a goosebump maker for sure. Glad you found it.
Great reaction! You made me re-fall in love with this song. It’s been a while since I heard it but breaking it down like that made me remember how special it is.
Such a fantastic song. The use of strings is just phenomenal that just puts it into the stratosphere. When this came out, I was just starting to go through a surprise divorce which I took hard, probably too hard. To escape I focused more on music of which I usually went with classic rock but came across this and I really got into it. Another song was "Kiss Me" by Six Pence Non the Richer, which I highly suggest.
Saeed just found this one. TH-cam is not being kind to me. There is a bunch of your reactions I don't get the notification of all your reactions. I love this song. Greetings from South Africa
It's a beautiful song that can be applied to so many things in life, and I have always thought it has such a hopeful connotation. Maybe that is why it has hit you so hard. Sometimes those things that can lift us up create deep emotions we don't always understand. Great review, and I hope your recovery journey is a smooth one.

This is one of my favorite songs. Great reaction. Maybe that "soul vacation" to find yourself is something you want to do? I went to Costa Rica and it was life-changing.
Please listen to Calling All Angels by Train. "In a world where what we want is only what we want until it's ours." This so holds true throughout the passage of time. ☮️ ❤️ 🎶 🎸 🎶
This has always be one of those songs for sure! Gets me every time. Levels... Beautiful... Various... I loved this reaction and how it effected you. I'm a pisces ♓ if ya know what I mean.
Can you please do a reaction on Cloudy with Fire? He’s on TH-cam. I was on an event and my heart melt. ❤❤ Drops of Jupiter is my favorite. Next is this Cloudy, Estas Tonne. Check them out live. You will thank me later. ❤❤
This song was written about his mother, Beth, who passed
"Calling all Angels" is another great song by Train

This one definitely made an impact. Music is truly one of humankind's finest achievements. Beautiful.
"I swear I got the chills"..Isn't that what music is all about?
100%
Yeah... it's based on a dream he had about his mother sometime after she passed. I've had those dreams about only 2 people in my life. The dreams where they let you know they're gone, but ok....
I know what that's like and how profound those messages are.
That’s the beautiful thing about music, it can have different significance to different people.
Saeed...What can I say about your reaction, but WOW!! So honest, and moving. I'm a senior, and my first time hearing this by Train. Your insightfulness has opened my mind to things less thought of. Thank you for the journey. ❤
This song tears me up every time. But at the same time, it just makes me so happy and gives me goosebumps. I adore this song.
I have always loved this emotional song. Plus in this video, I LOVE the violin section!! 😍🥰
Just saw Train earlier this year with REO Speedwagon, great show.
Love TRAIN!
Saeed I love that you got the fact that this song is about an alternative theory to heaven which he says is overrated. It’s the universal aspect of our passing. You are right. This is a masterpiece.
For his mother passed away he imagines a journey among the stars and planets❤

"Permanent scar" on his chin.
Carly Simon also wrote a song about her mother passing away. You may want to give it a listen, it is called "Like a River."
Welcome back from your soul vacation ❤ I also love Meet Virginia by them. I think it was their first big hit. Fantastic reaction as per usual!
I knew with you being a writer that this song would grab your attention. Thank you for your open heart reaction.
Love his voice. Next maybe "Hey Soul Sister," their biggest hit, a simple but very Train love song. The official video is worth watching; it doesn't distract you from the song the way 1980s videos do.
Love the true emotion and appreciation of the impact music can have in our lives.
Yes, a beautiful song, his voice is beautiful!❤❤

The best Train song ever. The year thos came out i can remember mowing by grass and singing this at the top of my lungs. So cooll!
Train has many, many hit songs! Try Hey Soul Sister next, or Mississippi, Calling All Angels, Save Me San Francisco, or their version of Whole Lotta Love!!!!

That song and album is fantastic!! I've been a fan of Train ever since this singel was released, and yes, this song gives me goosebumps..
Great song! Definitely want to explore more . Thanks for watching.

Can't get enough of this song. Love the tempo!

Their first and second albums are excellent. Meet Virginia, Heavy, She’s On Fire, Mississippi, and Free are songs I’d recommend.
This entire album is terrific. And he is so attractive and soulful. And yes, it came out in 2001!
This is my jam❤ I love the message & the strings are phenomenal. Saeed ...its not weird .. its already on my list when I pass❤
My mother passed away just before this song was released.
The lyrics still hit me hard.
Great reaction! You made me re-fall in love with this song. It’s been a while since I heard it but breaking it down like that made me remember how special it is.
Truly amazing song. Thanks so much for watching!
You should be aware, before Aurora, this was the greatest song of all time, and it wasn't close.
Such a fantastic song. The use of strings is just phenomenal that just puts it into the stratosphere. When this came out, I was just starting to go through a surprise divorce which I took hard, probably too hard. To escape I focused more on music of which I usually went with classic rock but came across this and I really got into it. Beautiful song. I think he is asking all the questions we all have about the big unknown??

Hey soul sister , Marry me,Meet Virginia, Calling all Angels all great ones
Love his vocals
My first time hearing this song was at a concert where Train was the opening act for Matchbox Twenty. Fantastic!!!
This was about losing his mother.
I’ve had songs hit me like this just because of the melody/harmonies not only lyrics. It happens.
The heart feels what the heart feels. Just go with it.
Appreciate you.
Saeed just found this one. TH-cam is not being kind to me. There is a bunch of your reactions I don't get the notification of all your reactions. I love this song. Greetings from South Africa
The power of words.....
He lost his mom. He then wrote Drops of Jupiter. Nuff said 💔

train have many good songs you need to react to..
Try Meet Virginia by Train, about his dream girl, with a great lyrical hook at the end.
This is one of my favorite songs. Great reaction. Maybe that "soul vacation" to find yourself is something you want to do? I went to Costa Rica and it was life-changing.
Beautiful song ! Thanks for watching.
Such an excellent song. Young little Taylor Swift covered it quite well actually, live at the Speak Now Tour (2011). I really hope you react to it. ❤

Stop the train!
Try listening to Led Zep song called IN THE LIGHT..I think you will like it...
Could your reaction be from what we all go through when we look back on how we survived our youth from the crazy things that we did.
Santa
Definitely. I ask that question a lot. Got lucky more than a few times.
You had 555 likes...sorry to ruin it...but I really liked it :) Good journey...Peace!
