I broke an effects paddle. I had to glue it bk in place but other than that this setup for me is best in its class. I love using it. 49yrs djing and this is my go to system.
both are good i have the older 72 and and rane 12 i used to use tech12 tables back in the day today im producing tracks and had to have the sound of REAL tables
I noticed the audio coming from my Rane 72 MK2 sounds better than the MK1 I like to know did they make any changes to the audio board because it sounds a lot better very high quality.
You could grab the older 72 and replace the fader? I believe the only major hardware difference are a few dials + the adjustable tension knob. Maybe the new one also allow you to adjust the brightness? Not sure if that's a mkii exclusive or a firmware thing.
Im looking to upgrade from my current mixer. What is the main difference between the reg 72 and the 72 MK2??? I can get a B stock Rane 72 for $1,289.00 with a 90 day warranty with an including extended 2 year warranty with Rane. Trying to figure out the main differences between those 2 mixers.
I currently own the MK1 Rane 12s already , I’m looking to upgrade my current mixer (Numark Scratch) in the future, should I go with the MK1 72 since I only use Serato or should I go with the MK2 72 ?? I just need some second opinions
The 72 MK1 is certainly compatible and adequate, but the MK2 has some legit upgrades. #1) 3 improved faders #2) Fader feel adjustment knob on outside of mixer (previously you had to unscrew the lid to access) #3) more pad/effects functionality. Considering that they didn't raise the price on the 72 MK2 it seems like an obvious option over the MK1 (unless you're getting a 2nd hand one for very very cheap). Out of the box, no non pioneer product will have native rekordbox mapping. You can look for 3rd party mappings created by others online, but manufacturer will not take accountability for it.
Wouldn’t count on if. It’s many years outdated and nobody is developing for it anymore. Maybe you get bootleg a mapping - but you shouldn’t have any expectation of stability or tight integration.
Good question, I would say yes, since they now give out time code signal, would probably work... the hardware buttons may not work without mapping but you’ll be able to use them as turntables without needles.... probably... if you get one to test out let us know!
Thanks for having me back on the channel! I really looking forward to seeing how tight the integration is with Traktor and Virtual DJ.

It's all good! It's great that we have all these various options now as DJs.

Simultaneously watching Jazzy Jeff Live trying to get a feel for if it is worth picking up the old or go with the new. 🤔

Rane might as well build an OS for serato in their mixer with a screen on the mixer with a build in SATA bay
What about compatibility with Rekordbox DJ? Can it be used with DVS mode or USB mode?

Can you use the Rane 12 mkII's with Serato Scratch Live?

No you can't

That's what I'm interested in and intrigued by. If the time code works and I can map my own midi buttons, I'd sell my denon 3900s.
We gotta stop calling gear feature overviews reviews. It’s like a movie critic reading the plot and giving it a review.
