You need to enable gode preview in settings and then when in preview to click the button.

I can't hear anything but a background jingle and don't know how to turn it OFF or DOWN. The speaker is drowned out by the noise

I just watched it without any problems. It sounds like you may have two things open at same time or TH-cam settings are set for TH-cam to continue in the background, listening to music for instance.
