God has kissed her with the gift of a beautiful voice! Best since Clare. I first heard this song in 1973 very late on a clear cold night walking across campus...a guy had placed his speakers outside his dorm windows and turned up the volume. What an experience!
Brit Floyd is worth going to see for any Floyd fan as they are truly an incredible tribute band and this woman's voice makes the show even more special. Wow! Listening to this reminds me of how amazed I was of her vocal range and control while singing live. Wow!
this singer was absolutely stunning ! the closest i have ever seen in an out of body experience, she went into another dimension then came back at the very end, talk about emotionally drained ! look at her emotionless face at the end , took her a while to step back into her body.....so so good...
I have seen many singers try to equal Clare Torrey's truly astonishing performance of this song. Pink Floyd themselves use three singers to sing all three parts live because it is nearly impossible to find someone gifted enough to even try. I've only ever heard two that even come close. Amy Smith with The Australian Pink Floyd show, and now this one. BRAVO! A magnificent voice, she absolutely NAILS this! Thank you for posting. I'm well impressed.
Angela's performance was outstanding and moving. Saw Brit Floyd 3-times in Pensacola and they never disappointed. Had tix to see them again, but the "pandemic" happened. They cancelled and haven't returned to Pensacola since, the only time they disappointed me.

Angela somehow stays true and yet infuses something new and holds its own with the original from Clair Torrey who clearly had the gods on her side when she walked into Abbey road studios on a cold January Sunday night in 1973.
I saw them in Rochester NY and it was ,unbelievable I can't remember a more beautiful and awe inspiring voice expressing emotion without words and giving you tears and goosebumps at the same time ....and it kept going and going and forced us one by one to stand and give her our awestruck applause
Saw her perform this 2 nights ago in Ithaca (NY) and she brought down the house - big standing ovation. Got to meet her afterwards and shake her hand, "guilty as charged" was her reply! Yeah, she's beautiful up close too! :)

After all, the name of the song is "The Great Gig In the Sky". You don''t think he was talking about an airplane ride do you? It is meant to be open to interpretation. I think this young lady did an excellent job of conveying angst, anguish, despair, depression and any and all emotions that goes through your head when you contemplate your OWN death. Well done!

Angela Cervantes has her beautiful way of delivering this PF masterpiece. Her transition from high to low & vise versa is so smooth, there is no struggle in her voice. Her acting with emotion is so stunning. Her live performance with Pink Tones at Roman Amphitheater in Seregobia, Spain, singing The Great Gig & Atom Heart is so wonderful.
I just saw her a couple of weeks ago in Portland Oregon. Absolutely incredible, as is the entire Brit Floyd concert. I have tried to inform friends of what they are missing by not going-- as they have been in Portland the last 4 years. Those who love Floyd's music, and discount Brit Floyd are missing one of the best musical experiences I can imagine.

Since Clare, the best version with Ola's Bienkowska 's one. And it was already with Brit Floyd ! There's a very special atmosphere in this band to rise these girls to such a level !

This isn't a song, as much as it is an experience. A deeply personal one to those of us who had that original experience back in the day... That said, this cover was very good. Still not Claire, but the best cover I have heard since the original. Props.
Beautiful rendition & if there had been no Clare Torry before Angela, this would have been the benchmark. Biggest difference was the 'wild untamed animal' in Clares' original version.
This song is one of a kind and it's ageless.. I was a sophomore in high school when this came out. I'm 62 now. It still gives me the same feelings
