- Fixed On Fixed is a short film clip profiling five female bicycle riders and their love of riding fixed gear.
Riding fixed gear is not only about the bike but also the community that comes with it and this particular fixed gear community is a small, passionate collection of riders who all share a love of riding slightly differently from one another.
Fixed On Fixed profiles each rider, along with the group as a whole, to share their individual story and collective experience in what riding means to them.

I'm surprised there's so much hate in the comments particularly from other riders. It really doesn't matter if you ride BMX, MTB, Road, Fixed or even a fucking motorbike we're all riders and on some level you can totally appreciate the feeling of being on two wheels. This video totally speaks to me and I completely understand how they feel. People are always looking for reasons to being other people down I mean FFS this is just a video about how much they like what they're doing, jeez.

I guess what drives these comments is the same male bravado that makes this all-female riding group essential. With so much puffed up egos around, how can you have fun biking?
Exactly, I probably won't see any fixie riders saying bullshit in other videos from other riders, that's why they say on the video people are jealous, otherwise i can't understand that much hate.
its the riders not the bike , not their gender , not their race , just the behavior of the ride rin general that people in the comments well comment about

This is great. I ride mostly mtb, but fixies look like a lot of fun. It's awesome how biking in any form improves lives and brings people together.

I'm really impressed with how well they skid while rocking drop bars. Roughly 7 years of riding fixed and that's basically beyond me.

I really loved this movie. I'm a single speed rider for the last two years, and this really inspired me to look into fixed gear bikes.

That feeling of control you get on a fixie is comparable and thus linked to the self consciousness you reach as you're doing it!! it brings you to a level of mental and physical control of your bike and-->as your own self that non-fixers asking "what do you find in fixie-riding?" can never understand......!!!!!! And for more you do it, the more you get hooked..
Feel it first in the knees after too many weeks without a fixed-gear ride. ;)

dont get me wrong, this video is well really made and i like the vibe conveyed, bur really!
1:18-1:48 are a textbook example why fixie riders are frowned upon and heavily contribute to give other cyclists a bad reputation. unpredictable, twitchy and negatively cheeky driving behavior, even in dense traffic, dark clothing with nothing to improve visibility, and worst of all sacrificing the most basic safety implement of a brake for a silly badge of honor, that puts others at risk. dont be fricken inconciderate anarcho pricks!
Cuda FX u just described me! i should make a fixie🤔 i have a more daredevil side to road biking, although i would put brakes on, but i listne to music on my mountain bike or road bike, wile going through the citys, dodging cars, its fun:)

ive tried riding brakeless once. it is fucking insane. its really just a matter of time until you crash. back pedaling is just not enough.
Only on very steep hills. ;) I go for weeks without reaching for the hand brake levers. Weird because my brain knows (shortly after mounting, anyway!) which brake system applies during *this* ride only.

Always rode fixed wheel 50 years ago when I was a kid because is was a lot cheaper than bikes with gears.

I ride fixed all over LA county and the I.E. and I love it mainly because I've got a fast bike that I can pound and repair if need be pretty cheaply. Sure if I had the cash to get and maintain a nice road bike I might but for where I'm at and commuting and enjoying the ride the fixed is a great choice. I'm not sure what my ratio is but it's great for climbing hills, pulling off the line and a slight uphill. Not the fastest on the downhill.

I loved riding fixed as well, but I feel a large part of it is the community it attracts. At least in my experience, road biking is either racers who go really fast to the point where you almost vomit on rides because you're working so hard or older people who ride really slow.

What a beautiful documentary about 5 great ladies sharing their fixed gear passion. This city your in looks so magical also! I just wish you ladies could share the names of these sounds in the soundtrack as they don't show on shazam and soundhound.

I like the pink bike the best - never seen a fixie with contemporary components before.
I still don't totally get the whole deal with fixed gear, but this makes me think maybe I should try it. I'm sure I have everything but the hub on hand...
I don't like toe straps - people claim you have to have them.
It's tough on the knees - very short rides at first.
You can usually take the dish out of a wheel to center it better, for fixed gear use (I've read up on it at Sheldon Brown, but I bought my solution inexpensively, so didn't have to solve this).
You're going to love it. May not take to it as a main thing, but it's way fun.

Cool. I waited for the woman at 5:55 to look down on the street but she won't look down. She just look straight or up. I always look down to the floor to see bumps and what not. I don't know what she is thinking about.
Came by to check if I should change my bike, now, to a free wheel or fixed for uber deliveries, I got both pros and cons from the comments here. I'll do a week of each. Maybe come back to tell you all which o e is better next time. My gear bike is wearing out too soon for uber deliveries. I got a beautiful Ridley fenix classic silver with a touch of gold. Can't ruin it.

Awesome little vid, I havent quite found that passion for my fixie yet, i ride my roadie and TT alot but try to get out on my fixie once a week, I must admit im a little bit scared of the fixie, think i just have to suck it up and rip shit up.
As I know, In NewYork speed limit is 20 mph and using Fix bike is actual. I Moscow (40 mph - 60mph) we need something faster then Fix bike for use in the roads with main trafic.

So, the thing I always wonder when I see something like this is 'how is the american girl living in Melbourne?' I lived there for a while and eventually had to leave. Either way it must be nice to just get off a plane and head to a bike shop. Melbourne is one of the best cities. So good for food, coffee, skating, riding bikes and a sick night life. I'm jelly
