Yeah. Well what do you do with no brakes if a kid runs out into the street in front of you? It's ok to feel you can handle the traffic, but you're not alone on the street. Having said that, I'm building up a fixie MTB, but it'll have a front brake and I wouldn't use it on city streets.
I like my single speed freewheel, thank you very much.
Fixies are for those who cant afford to buy groupsets
