I recently completed a play through using Morgott’s Cursed Sword and a little detail that I noticed is that because of the way your character two hands swords, your bottom hand is actually only touching the sword with the top two fingers
I wish they would make an anime or movie of Elden Ring, there is an insane amount of lore that isn't part of the main story, sometimes I like just reading the descriptions of random stuff, one of my favorites is the spirit summon clean rot knight finly, after the battle between Melania and Radahn, Melania was unconscious and a single clean rot knight carried her from the swamps of Aonia all the way to haligtree BY HIMSELF and fended off all attakers, imagine being able to say you carried and protected the strongest boss in the game, an absolute Chad
It is so mean that Millicent has Waterfowl Dance on a Shamshir. I want that as an Ash of War that I can put on different weapons.
Btw. In the dungeon where you get the kindred of rot talisman, the mushroom guys get the damage buff if you're in close range when you get poisoned.
I recently noticed that when you're wearing the chest piece of the Black Knife Assissin set (found in Ordina, on the ground under the stairway to the portal that takes you to the Haligtree), you make absolute zero noise. No sound at all, you can literally walk or run right up to enemies and as long as you avoid their line-of-sight, they will never know you are there. I'm finding this VERY USEFUL in late game areas like Lyendell, Subterranean Shunning-Grounds and especially Crumbling Farum Azula. I wonder if carrying the Sentry's Tourch will cancel out this effect... I'm going to try it out and report back. Cheers Mates!!

The sentry torch breaks invis so I doubt it'll neutralize the noise cancelling
The last one I knew for quite some time. I think I mentioned it in a prior video talking about the Blasphemous Blade. I had a build I was running that dual-wielded the Blasphemous Blade and Sword of Milos. It was incredibly effective, especially in crowds, because if you cast Taker's Flame and kill about... 3 or more enemies, the FP cost was pretty much paid for. This meant you could run through an area just spamming Taker's Flame on the Blasphemous Blade and be pretty much unstoppable, getting free HP and FP any time you needed it.
all those items and weapons in the last tip I love. Started using the highland axe with a rotten duelist greataxe that has barbaric roar. the thing absolutely destroys and inflicts a lot of scarlet rot.
Good catch on the moon spell. I use that against radagon when he throws the huge golden spears at you, the timing is pretty hard though. It’s pretty hard to time them to specifically absorb a spell. It’ll also absorb Malakiths destined death though so that’s cool. Been wanting to see if it’ll absorb comet azure.

I believe it actually does block it.fum fact, sonaf's flame wave will ALSO block spells
Two things I recently discovered...
1. Nights Cavalry let out the trolls death cry. I thought that was weird cuz nowhere does it mention them being trolls. And FromSoft doesn't do noises on accident.
2. The mounted ballista and catapults give you health when you hit them with Great Stars and such weapons. They also give you a font of HP/FP when using Milos or Blasphemy such weapons.
Full moon and Dark moon spells cancel out the oldest one that was cast. If ur full moon spell flies first, if the enemy cast his after, yours will get canceled
Awesome series. A Cool detail from the Celebrants in Dominula, Windmill Village. If you damage them, they become enraged and bite their own arm and they spit you the poisonous blood.
10:33 It also has the effect active if it is in your off hand while mounted so you can still use your main weapon in mounted combat.
If you look East next to the Divine Tower of Liurnia, you can see roots sprouting from the ocean if the weather is good. The formation seems similar to Commander O'Neil's boss arena in Caelid. Farum Azula might have been semi-located there and then got uprooted, so now you can see the roots of the Erdtree on the surface.

Something of interest in regards the elemental damage in and enemies elden ring.
When using fire damage, some enemies like the hands or a imps react to being on fire but when using a weapon like the sword of night and flame which is a mixed damage type, the fire effect doesn't occur but you see the magic damage hit effect and not the fire one. This maybe different if the faith Stat is higher were the fire hit effect will show instead of the magic one.
Fia didn’t just kill D. She also killed Rogier, and lionel for investigating godwyn’s body. You can find lionel’s murdered corpse in leyndell, and you can see rogier’s blood mark beneath stormveil. She also summons the souls of lionel and rogier later on to fight you. She can summon them because she killed them. At first we assume the corpse of godfrey somehow inadvertently killed rogier… but how? The answer is it was fia the whole time. She snuck up behind rogier (we can see her vanish in the round table hold after exhausting the dialogue in her questline) and hit him with her death mist because he was getting too close to discovering the truth of godwyn’s corpse and her plot to resurrect him as the prince of death.
She summons the champion that she fu--err I mean 'hugged'. Lionel guarded her while fleeing from her home, and Rogier was helping her look for the curse mark. Even you, technically, succumb to her 'charms'. Your build is recorded and used against other Tarnished when you beat her champions.
Nice idea though.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet or not, but the Volcanic pots do NOT cause explosions when they land on/near red barrels. This means it's safer to use Volcanic pots in areas with explosive barrels. In addition, because their damage is spread out over time, it's better for inflicting posture damage on enemies. I've even knocked enemies off of ladders using them.
another tip about the moon spell; it ignores eternal darkness absorb effect.
The mushroom crown effect can also be seen, being triggered on enemies.
When getting poisoned, those mushroom crown wearing humanoids, get that visual and audio pop.
Signalling their strength that increases, due to the nearby status trigger.
One could say the only knights left were the best ones and that's why they all have badges
Here's one you probably didn't realise, especially if you don't co-op often. When returning to your world after being summoned as a co-operator or hunter, if the host hasn't died (you don't even need to have successfully fulfilled your duty) you will return with some FP and HP replenished.
This is a great way to stay topped up in legacy dungeons between Graces if you can get consistent co-op action (where flask auto-refills after mob kills don't happen like they do in the overworld).

Yup blasphemous sword with sword of Milos on your back is an interesting combo
Equipping the Sacrificial Axe, paired with Milos sword, and the ancestral horn talisman means you can soak in all that sweet, sweet blue juice. It's worth using the Axe, since you can put most ashes on it. I, personally, use sacred blade, because it's a free way to deal with Skeletons and such. Swat one with the ash, then you can run around, smashing a few more before you need to rebuff. Easy way to clap some bony cheeks.
The buff from Terra Magica lingers for a little while after you leave the circle.
It took me a while to figure it out, but the Staff of Loss effects all 'invisible' spells. Ambush shard, Night Comet, Night shard, etc. And, since you can charge Night Comet, you can play that off of Godfrey's Icon, the upgraded Graven School talisman, Tera Magica, and even the Magic scorpion, and do some silly amounts of damage on a charged spell. Not only that, but Night Comet WILL PIERCE MULTIPLE ENEMIES. Even players, as a matter of fact! Still testing to see if other spells do it too, but I know that one in particular does. :D
For Millicent's talisman, it's also interesting that it is just the hand from the other two, but without the sword, but it still looks like it's clasping a sword. Almost like it's a broken form of the other talismans
I was not testing this more, but I was able to negate sacred relic sword ash of war from a spammer in PvP with one of the moon sorceries, so there is useful application against probably magic/sacred damage types.

12:05 The correct thing to say is that it _IS_ technically equipped since it is equipped to your offhand which just happens to be on your back. It makes perfect sense if you think about it like that.
I don't know if you have already talked about this but my most recent build is a life steal and fp steal build with talismans like the Godskin swaddling cloth and ancestral spirits horn as well as using the blasphemous blade and sword of Milos. A few things I've noticed one more recent than the other is that if you attack those enemies in stormveil castle that have flame throwers and keep attacking the flamethrower itself till it breaks you will gain health back as well as fp when you destroy the flamethrower. The other thing I noticed a few patches ago so it might be fixed but it's that if you wear the takers cameo talisman as well as other life steal and fp steal equipment like I listed before and your summons die like the gratsheild soldiers you will end up gaining health and fp from their deaths.
Do the effects stack? I run those weapons but didn't know think the effects stacked with the talismans, but I would love to be wrong lol
From what I've seen, one of my builds carries the sacrificial axe in off hand, is that you can get the effect if something dies around you even if you didn't kill, or even see it die.
Also, a bow and killing animals is a decent way to regain hp and fp in the open world.

Still confirming BUT from what I can tell you can use every buff and heal inside round table hold except for black flame protection.
I saw that effect on the Dark Moon spell against the real Loretta in my sorcery only run, it was so good against her and her quad arrow

Just noticed the paintings in the Raya Lucaria Classroom (red wolf boss room) the paintings are of different sorcers. Each of the stone headpieces (glintstone crowns) has a painting to match it, then it looks like Sellen and Rennala

When you said its technically not euqipped.. i disagree, every item you put in hand slots (r1,2,3 and L1,2,3) adds to your carry weight, wich means its equipped, so even tho its not activly weilded, its still equipped, therefor this mechanic work.
Thats my theory on why this works.
Also.... doing the ng+ runefarm with golden wave with a blasphemous blade on ur back... thats something XD
I'd say the biggest reason every item effect works when put away is likely both a legacy feature(as it has worked similarly before with other items/weapons like adjudicator or grass crest shield, morion blade, ect) but more importantly the ash of war/weapon art system, you are always two handing the weapon itself whenever you use a weapon art, even when you activate them while one handed, the game quickly auto two hands(including the str/damage buff, hence why two handing a weapon during skills does nothing for damage.). I assume they didn't want to turn off any of your buffs when you're weapon skilling it up, which naturally flowed to two handing as a result, unintentional or otherwise.
before you enter lyndell there are 2 tree sentinals that are guarding the gate 1 of them has a torch normal you can sneak on the left side of the road past him and he wont notic you if you stick to the wall but if you wear the black knife armor he will more like notice you and you cant sneak past bye him anymore
I've heard them mention the Blasphemous Blade several times and how it steals hp but the Serpent-God's Curved Sword also steals hp. I ran a build that used the Winged Scythe, that I two handed, and I put the curved sword on my hip. That way I would get hp but still would do amazing damage. The Serpent gods sword is actually a bit easier to get and the path that you take to get it is riddled with tons of enemies for a good amount of exp. So, instead of wasting weight and a Boss Remembrance, I recommend getting the lighter and still quite effective sword while you grind some exp.
Also, to note after messing around, you can swap weapons on torrent by holding, for me Triangle, to access your other inventory and pressing any attack button, you can swap between left and right hand armaments.
I saw someone using radans bow on his back and erdtree bow. He was shooting radans spears while radans bow was on his back and he still got the radans bow buff with his other great bow. It was nutty and his third weapon was a short bow with barrage for quick procs
you can also use two Radahn bows to double the bonus... only upgrade one and carry the other in offhand for the bonus.

Weapons in your "pockets" wont give you their effects. It only works when the weapons are in your hands or on your back, not everything on your equipment screen.
With the passive effects working while equipped but not active, do you need the stats for that weapon? Blasphemous Blade requires faith but I'm an Int build for instance?
No you don’t need the stats for the passive to work.

So the whole 'still get passive effect even while two handing' has been a thing I know since Dark Souls one with the key example being the Grasscrest Shield which helps gives stamina regen. I don't know any examples from Dark Souls 2 because it's been like forever, but there are tones of examples in 3 given you could put health even fp regen on items with blessed and what ever the magic one was.
In Elden Ring another item that does that would be the Turtle shell shield. And I THINK it ties in with the rings/talismans given that you can's SEE the items on your character but still give the passive effects of them. Maybe worthy of being put in the next secrets vids?
Just a heads up, Millicent's prosthesis stacks with either of the two winged insignias.
So in theroy comet azur could be bent around s corner in a way then in pvp with the moon you cast the moon at 1 player but another player casts cometcat you would ghe comet follow the moon or hit intended target
Idk if you’ve covered this or not but the carriage pulled by the 2 giants can be destroyed by getting a mounted enemies horse to kick you out into it and it will destroy the carriage making it so you cant pick up the great axe till you rest at a grace

Duel the Milos and the Blast blade and u never need to use a flask again lol it's my go to build for helping others when i summon in.
Ok so one thing that I've tested that for some unknown reason is exempt from the rule of "only needs to be equipped and not active to give a passive bonus" is cinquedia. Having it equipped gives no bonus to bestial incantations, it has to be active to be of use which is sad as it is one of the worst weapons in the game :/
I wish the jelly shield effects would work the same but they do not, once you put it on your back dmg boost from shield ash of war dissappear

Idk if anyone knows this I never see it mentioned but we all know your eyes change color when u learn dragon spells right that yellow lizard eye look well did you know if you do the assassinations for volcano manor that your eyes become blood red? Just a cool little thing and also I believe that the dragon spell eyes actually over power the volcano manor eyes but wither way just thought I'd share

Someone else commented that the older of the moons would be canceled. So whichever moon was casted first is canceled by the other. Havent tested. Just read it.

BTW, @hollow, I wish that the passive effects worked as you say with everything in equipment, because the Jellyfish shield specifically doesn’t work this way. It would be interesting to dig into this more, because clearly FromSoft coded a way around status effects/boosts for equipped (not active) items.
