Improvised fishing rods are still probably my favorite and most reliable mid-late game food source. Fish fillets from one fish can bring you from red flashing to white hunger.
Just four slots storage for the rope & a hook too, sticks are everywhere (except on ice sheets). If you want to carry it around, you can make the improv. rod with a sharpened stick, so you can fish, then break it down, cook, eat, and make rod again, repeat.
Hunter set is also my favorite. The ONLY drawbacks are that it's a little heavy on the chest, and storage could be better in the pants. But the camo and warmth are S tier.
One of my favourites is the rope belt, make it from two stacks of rags and helps carry a knife plus the rope itself and doesn't require a knife sheath.
If you guys don't have a lighter or matches, you can also use a knife or axe to a tree and collect bark and then collect short sticks to make a hand drill kit which will also start a fire for you
Hello, one of my fav early loot tips is to find a spot where bambis unsatisfied with their spawns are yeeting themselves off of high ledges. A corpse has a lot of good stuff. Guts can make a rope, bones can make a knife or fishing hook, rags from clothes and fat makes a good torch. Human steaks are great for shenanigans too x)
Storing a hot cooking pot that is empty, full of food, or full of boiled water is a good warmth trick and you can store non-urgent items inside it to save inventory space
7:56 hunting camo is the second best thing to a ghillie suit, the American Bdu, American Apu, even some digital camos and the Russian combat uniforms are made so if you look at a soldier down a scope you won't see them and they will blend in with the environment on the horizon line. Military camouflage works at a distance but you will stick out like a sore thumb in cqb moments, stuff that happens in dayZ all the time. the hunting camouflage works because it blends in at a closer range and it was developed with hiding in bushes and hunting in mind. so you may have more space with military uniforms you can never go wrong with the camouflage of a hunters jacket and pants. just make sure you have a camo field vest or the russian camo plate carrier, but nothing beats a ghillie suit.
I often share this video as a little help to my friend who are just starting dayz but I found a piece a advice I would share keep the bk double barrel until you find the two rifles you wanna keep on your back and then you can use a hacksaw to cut the gun down to a sort of shotgun and keep it in your backpack and it only takes up 10 slots and is a good weapon to keep in a pinch.
I've got over 700 hours in the game but I still enjoy your videos. I already know most of your tips but your videos give me something that I can send to my friends to help them out
speaking of rain and getting soaked..... is avoiding the rain a binary thing? Like are you either "outside, getting rained on" or "inside, safe from the rain", or is there a third option, like being under a tree outside?
I don't like using hammers to chip off stones from a boulder because it will first create a large stone. You could break this into several smaller stones, but if the hammer is already damaged, it might already be ruined after chipping off the large stone. Therefore, I prefer other tools, such as a screwdriver or crowbar.
Well done! I wish this was out 5 months ago, could have saved myself lots of trouble...I blame you for this.. ;) Keep up the great work and thanks for the effort put into this. Cheers

Hi I'm new to the game, great video. One think to add you can use the rope as a belt and turn back into rope as needed to save some space. Should i travel during rain? And have been trapped in a house surrounded by wolves 2x now, any advice?
Yep you can travel in rain, just try to dry off when the rain lets up. The wolf thing... it's tough without a firearm. But you could try fighting them from a doorway so it's only 1 at a time. Easier said than done.
Aside from chainmail, the hunter outfit is the best clothing set in the game imo. It's very warm and will provide you the best camo, second only to the ghillie suit
use something strong or just stay out of their sight, slip off your shoes or put on improvised foot wraps to make less noise while crouch running/walking
buy a headset and listen for animal calls while playing normally. Once you hear one always run straight towards the noise. When you come close enough to see them sprint crouched and once you come even closer don't sprint and only crouch. Then better land a good shot.
