For someone who can barely stay in the white for any period of time this is very helpful thank you. Seems I'm not getting warm enough clothes or food quick enough to even think about a bunker run. All comes in time. Still learning the basics but thats the beauty of it.

@@hadynmcloughlin4661 same, I've got maybe 25 hours in by myself and everyone I've came across tries to kill me lol. There was one dude who didn't but they disappeared into the night "pitch black out" I wonder if the console version is much different than pc

The portable stove is a must. Handy to cook on the go without leaving a smokestack and warms you up fast also

Man I never realized how many starting/mid area towns had military loot. I kept searching only the deep south areas while having not much to start with so this is a big help. Livonia definitely takes a different mindset to be successful. Military loot is a lot less centralized and requires a lot more careful planning for routes (whereas chenarus you get some basic stuff and just head to NWAF, Kamensk or Tisy.
The NBC suits seem even more of a challenge as there's not really anywhere comparable to Krasno Airfield, which can net you half a suit or more per run if you're lucky.

Exactly. I love and appreciate Livonia for this extra, refreshing level of difficulty. It messes with even the most experienced player's flow and makes for awesome adventures.
It took my friend and I 2 weeks to get a single nbc suit together. We got into a firefight and almost lost it on the first gas run.
Yeah that's why I'll gear up in chenarus before coming to Livonia. Not fully geared but the basics so I'm not getting bushwacked by the first prick with a bk12

I know this comment is old, but I find Topolin Fire Station & Clinic to be a good way to get NBC loot, lots of possible spawns if you check the fire trucks out front too

Great video bro! Some is repeat from what you said. But maybe this will add to the knowledge.
Can't find food? Find rope! Combined with a long stick makes improvised fishing rod. There is a chicken in every town, gut it and make fish hooks out of the bones. Take 2 stones to make a knife or find a knife to dig up bait/worms. Then go to any body of water and fish. No fireplace near by? Make one, 2 sticks & 1 peice of bark makes a hand drill kit used to ignite the fire. 1 long stick & knife makes sharpened stick, attach your 🥩 like you're making smores. Also if you gut animals make sure you have gloves on, you can make gloves with rags. Otherwise they will get bloody without gloves. If you eat with bloody hands you get sick & then need charcoal tablets to survive. Just walk up to any water source & single press F to wash them. If your water doesn't come from the well water you must clean it with chlorine tablets or become sick and need tetracycline pills to survive. If you bandage with a damaged rag or use a sewing kit you will develop an infection. This can be a problem fast if you don't have alcohol to clean your wounds. Alcohol can also be used to wash your infected hands.
If you can't find food that tells me directions are a challenge for you at times. Remember power lines always lead to a city! So, when you're a fresh spawn look for power lines and follow. Also clouds travel East, the moon/sun sets in the West & rises in the East. Use this as your sense of direction. When it rains your clothing gets wet. If you're cold for to long you get sick, just rinse them out by holding clothing in hand. Having tetracycline pills will help recover quicker. Vitamins will keep you from getting sick when it's cold. Never wear shoes or boots, make improvised shoes from Rags preferably pristine. You will walk around like a ninja and make it really hard to hear your foot steps. Otherwise you're so loud and can be heard 100ft away. The bigger the backpack, comes with a price! A field backpack is nice for bulk travel but also very loud when you move, use smaller backpacks carry less. If you want to become good at DayZ become a ninja. If an enemy can't hear you, your chances of survival go up massively. When you run through the woods, always make sure you have a tree behind your back covering your six. If someone is following you it's that much harder to get a shot. And that is just the basics of survival.
Note - clouds no longer only travel east!

I just got into Dayz and I got it on gamepass so I fiqure I'm gonna keep Livonia in my back pocket as it's probably gonna take me a year to learn Chernarus! So will be nice to save from the future.

If you rent a server (I do) you can remove any non pristine item and it's supposed to spawn in pristine replacements after resart
Just ordered day z on Amazon. Been watching computer gamers play it for years, I used to think it was trash for all of the lag and bugs/glitches. Seems it's playable now if it's released on console. Anyway this will be a big help when I'm ready for it so tyvm.
Definitely still has a lot of bugs lags & glitches on console. That's the one thing they won't fix
@@Catfish.Knudsen my solo server on xbox has nearly 0 lag, try reducing the amount of zombies from 1000 to like 250-500 and you'll hardly notice a difference and performance will increase, also delete useless crap like skirts or Jean shorts to reduce lag, animals on my server are set to 700 instead of I think defaults around 100, very minimal lag or server stress, balance is key, no shit its gonna lag when all you do is crank up gun spawns and military crap

Big police station in topolin. Check on the izurvive Livonia map, look at topolin and try to find the red siren 🚨 symbol

Bk133, get some buckshot or slugs, because bears tank quite a few shots in a neck and chest area
I only did bunker on my first many tries and now I know nothing about the map 🗺️ lol except I am awesome at the bunker 😢😅
If possible always try get headshots on animals, always more food, and pretty much just melee chickens

Don't sweat it. There are players with thousands of hours that get killed before they find their first piece of loot. It happens to everyone.
Crafting knife was useful to me
i got the livonia dlc and cant seem to get far from brena or glisinka place. i found the bunkers and run them from time to time. a few months back i found a tent and had a good stash going for a few weeks but someone found it and took it all. cant seem to last longer than a few hours before dying

If you have a 1 use punch card and the doors close while your inside are you trapped inside?
Once you're inside, you don't need a punch card to get out. Theres a switch to hit that doesn't require it.

Livonia is rather tough starting out as fresh spawn. if you get lucky enough to eat and make it south it gets better. yeah more dangerous. and a lot of running to place to place. but that's dayz. don't get ate by a bear!

Dirt roads, Trails, Railroad Tracks, etc. Never noticed any beside paved roads but I suspect they occur there too. Unless you are doing nothing but looking at the ground for rocks, I would avoid sprinting. I only sprint when I have "Get out of Dodge" emergencies.

There's so few Wells for water and after 15 hours I'm still yet to find a container I can carry water in.
The night is pitch black for an hour, "might as well log off and do something else"
During the day you'll get sick due to the never ending rain.
Just don't bother play the standard map..

Pitch black night is also only on certain servers. If you don’t like it, try a server that supports 3rd person mode. I’m pretty sure the nights are more visible on those.
Honestly I like Livonia more than chernarus. Just comes down to preference I guess.
