Jessica Walter, Arrested Development Star, Dead at 80

- ‘Arrested Development’s Jessica Walter has died. A rep for the actress confirmed to ET that she died in her sleep at home in New York City on Wednesday. She celebrated her 80th birthday in January. Walter’s career in entertainment spanned over 60 years. Tony Hale wrote on Twitter: ‘She was a force, and her talent and timing were unmatched. Rest In Peace Mama Bluth.’ David Cross called her performance as Lucille Bluth ‘one of TV's greatest characters.’

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that when I heard the news. I legit was concerned over a functional characters reaction to the death of the very real voice actress that played his mother.
She brought so much life to whatever she was in.

I cant see Archer (the show) going on without her. She was so ridiculously funny and every one of her lines stung with wit and laughter.

By far Archer was her best role. She was 80 and had a great life so nothing to be sad about just celebrate her accomplishments

They had trouble telling each other they loved each other & would rather bury their feelings in alcohol & what not as they both had histories with being with a lot of people. & Mallory always hid secrets like of who she suspected Sterling’s father was. & for how easy she’d turn her head on people for insulting them, also for how she could kill people without feeling bad. Lucille Bluth was just a mother who drank a good amount. Whereas Mallory is a always drunk, agent, murderer & unfair boss for how she always threw insults at her coworkers mostly Pam & Cherly/Carol. The only thing Mallory Archer & Lucille Bluth had in common was that their both women fictional characters voiced by the same woman & they were bad mothers who were always drunk. But that’s all & Mallory takes bad mother to a whole other level she literally wanted to kill Katia/or Katya or whoever you spell her name & all because she was gonna marry Malory’s son, which she tried to cover up by saying that she only wanted to kill Katya because she thought that she’d have to be an undercover traitor if she was immediately going to marry sterling.
@@packedentertainment2866 Adam Reed has said that he wrote that character with Jessica Walter in mind based on her character from Arrested development. Of course he gave her a different backstory and her personality developed over the course of the series but that doesn't change the fact that her character is derived from her character from AD. If there were no Lucille Bluth there would have been no Mallory Archer.
One of the most graceful women I've ever seen. Her portrayal of Lucille's Bluth was genius. RIP what a loss

I literally just finished watching Arrested Development. And the very next day I'm finding out she passed away. And I was even thinking as I was watching the show that, she was one of the best characters on that show. That's crazy. RIP 😥

What a great character actress. I remember her most from the 70’s movies and TV shows she was in. If you’re a fan of 70’s entertainment, she popped up in lots of stuff.
Brilliant actress. Powerful performance as Evelyn Draper in Clint Eastwood”Play Misty for me”. Highly recommended performance but overall a committed actress to her craft. Condolences to her family and colleagues. Missed but not forgotten.

My moms favorite 2 movies were Dr Zhivago and Play Misty For Me and i watched both of them with her when i was a kid.. Jessica scared the s&*t out of me when i watched it as a kid. She took Glenn Close to the cleaners when it comes to the creepy female stalker genre
