  • Dubai is NOT What You Think! Here's Why
Dubai is a city that defies expectations at every turn. While it's known for its opulent skyscrapers and luxurious lifestyle, there's much more to the city than meets the eye. Beyond the glitz and glamour lies a dynamic metropolis teeming with cultural diversity, innovation, and rich heritage. Those who've seen it from up close say that Dubai is NOT what you think! Here's why!

I don't care how much money they've put into this, I have no reason to go there, due to the way they've treat their migrant workers. Also, it seems this is for the filthy rich only.,

UAE need most urgently EMPLOYMENTS law for their workmen. Because EMPLOYERS treat very badly their employees and asked Governments to DEPORT and CANCELLED VISA.
Therefore employees get right to defend their rights and EMPLOYERS must pay their employees legal costs when EMPLOYERS are guilty by court of law.

If you are a W2 employee, and not a sex worker, why go to Dubai and not a location where your money has more value? You will only be reminded at every turn how broke you are. And the countries stringent laws are such that you cant even enjoy yourself like you could in other vacation destinations. Hard no for me.

While the rest of the world goes green these countries that are running out of oil will lose its wealth and power and go back to being a desert ,the only way they will survive is tourism and that will depend on how they treat women ,they will need them more than ever to run the tourist board .

Nothing genuine about Dubai anymore. I used to like and occasionally visit Dubai years back, before this so-called wealth and affluence took over the Emirates' real identity. Now everything seems fake and unreal, it has totally lost its identity as a country with a rich culture and genuine people. The fact that the government is not lifting a finger to protect the poor migrant workers looking for a better life from exploitation and harsh treatment by their employers makes things even worse.

A group of Filipinas were kidnapped and gang raped by a number of locals of Dubai. Eventually the police caught up with the victims and rapist--to where they let go of the rapist but prisoned the Filipinas. Their usual reasoning is "If you haven't come here (Dubai), you wouldn't be raped", "It is your fault coming here and tempting the locals".
