I never thought about A-Net possibly monetizing not only furniture but maybe actual homesteads. We do have VIP areas and some of them really look awesome. Thousand Seas Pavillion and Armistice Bastion come to mind. Future homesteads don't nessecarily need to be bound to new expansion. Especially if they bring some to old regions like HoT, PoF or even Core Tyria areas.
Im very excited for this feature. One thing im surprised off is that you can teleport from everywhere to the homestead and back again. This was one of the prime features of the gem store lounges. You dont have a reason to buy them anymore. Maybe they will do new gem store locations like teapot suggested. An appartment in Kaineng sounds amazing
I was just thinking since we so much alts around and some of them are master crafters in certain professions cant we interact with them like Crafters. Instead of all the time character switching to build the item we basically get the interact with the alt that is 500 weapon smith for example and they build it with the resources in our bank storage???? Like if we have all the recipes and the materials wouldn't that add value to those alts in your homestead. Maybe even allowing us to get like a black lion representative we can interact with for TP. Just so that there's more to what the homestead can do. Though to also ensure that outpost and stuff doesn't become irrelevant it would be of course a grind or purchased based to make it happen. Say for example you have the permanent black lion vendor contract. that vendor could be present in your homestead at all times. It just would be a cool way to have all these quality of life items present to see you know. I know you can access it from your storage, but would be nice to add to the interaction of your homestead.
Actually kinda sad you have to log out with your alts inside the home for them to show up later. I have a bunch of alts that are parked at different places and I definitely won't bother with two extra loading screens every day just to leave them in the homestead
They need a feature to visit other homesteads even when the owner is offline, optionally ofc, and a browser for them. There are so many creative people and I've seen quite a few very nice homesteads already, but it's hard to find them.
Dnt buils for us a new homestead each expension. Just provide the space. The empty land, surrounding and ambience. We will build the home. So its win win, we get new home at new locations without anet wasting their resources for this. Just release the decorations through time suitable for the new locations
Southsun Cove Beach Front Development Property Lease. It would sell like hotcakes and Southsun Cove is canonically a resort place now that the Karka have been driven out.
it may be cope but I hope they don't heavily monetize the homesteads. I think the monetization of other features they've added (like skiffs/fishing rods/jade bots) makes the rewards for these systems scuffed as hell. There's only 1 skin to go after for the fishing rod that doesn't have to do with gems. It would've been amazing if there were collections for all those skins instead.
Yeah, Homesteads should prob replace the hubs they keep building. Mistlock and others are enough. I wouldn’t spend much time there but I’d pay to have a cool location
The system exists with Guild Halls, if you don't own EoD for example and your guild is using the EoD Guild Hall, you can still enter no problem, so that will depend on Anet if they want people that don't own the expansion to "get a taste" Homesteads. I hope they implement some of these features to the base homes you get on core tyria, they could give you a taste of the feature, you can decorate the homes with the furnitures you can get on festivals, scribing, etc, but if you want the advanced features (AoE instant gathering, decoration crafting, etc), you must buy the new expansion. They are going to update the Guild Halls with all this new housing tech, don't see why they couldn't do the same with the original home instances.
@@brandonuzumaki I don't know Guild Hall system is similar with homestead. I have Core accounts and they can't exit out from Guild halls. Also, you can enter the GH without being invited by someone with the expansion.
I want to know if you deplete a daily node in your home instance, does it deplete the node in your homestead and vice versa or do you get 2 daily draws from nodes since they're carried over.
I don't understand the hype for what is basically another home instance. Wow you can decorate it. Much wow. Most people park alts at chests so who is going to move them all and for no benefit... Maybe im missing something here. At least everyone else is happy about this. Hope it keeps the game going strong.
I disagree with you that they should build a new homestead every single expansion. It probably took considerable time and resources to make this one considering how many features it has. And you want them to do that every single expansion? That's crazy talk. This isn't Home Instance Wars 2.
Well, considering that all the work on features has already been done for this expac, making new homesteads for the future means just making a new plot of land, like they used to make new guild halls. Which is still work, but not as much as making all the features from scratch. If they don't make public hubs (like the wizard tower) anymore for expacs, like in JW, that time could be spent in homesteads maps instead if they are popular
Yeah, if this is the only home we are going to get, then it's not "true player housing". If it's just a one and done feature, only available on this expansion, it's going to be the lamest implementation of player housing ever lol.
These doors are going to lead to so much griefing, jesus christ its like Anet dont play this game. This whole feature is going to be garbage though, just gonna save everyone 20s a day of loading times from wizards tower or arborstone for rested bonus. Otherwise nobody will use them anymore than home instances for daily gathering.
@@BlackSkyZ2 I mean as an old GW2 player I hope so too (in a way) I remember back in the day - NO ONE raided or did PVP because there was not enough...incentive? but yea.
"a squad ... to invite all your friends to your homestead". I dont think I have enough friends to fill a subgroup.

Unless you can easily get all crafting stations, auction house, bank and whatnot - those vip passes will still be great.
@@Hekk. True. I forgot about the auction house. I would be surprised if you won't be able to get all the crafting benches in your homestead though

thats a cool idea! In the same vein being able to access their inventory and swap things out quick!
great ideas! i'll take it one step further and use them as a hero like in gw1 :D

as long as i can use some guild hall decorations I still have in my bank it will be fine
I hope they make it a core feature so they can expand on the functionality with future updates/expansions

Wonder if they worry that using the squad system for homesteads will make guild halls less relevant.
