    Your 1st unveil or proof of concept I believed. Now, I've gained experience and knowledge on how to turn cash into monthly income. I was so nervous and afraid before in buying and swapping income oriented stocks, not anymore. Managing thousands of dollars now aiming for 1M as well when I sell my asset. Much gratitude!

    Adriano, Thanks again for doing this - and for not only sharing your portfolio changes - but also your rationale for your decisions. One question you may be able to answer for me is - regarding FEPI - you recently covered it in your recent video review of this Fund - which currently pays 25%+ and has in it’s first four months it has - gained in its price value! Solid performance! It’s focused on 15 Fang names - and should do very well from an ‘AI’ standpoint - wondering what your thinking is?

    Interesting move selling HDIV. I sold HYLD, HDIV, and HDIF for ESPX and ETSX as my core income positions last year, but I’m a hybrid between growth and income.

      I would consider myself a hybrid investor too.
      But I see that his portfolio has also grown significantly. Most of his stocks are super high yield dividend stocks.
      I am new to investing so still learning.

    • @thehybridinvestor
      @thehybridinvestor 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mustafahussain2416 Income focused funds still increase in bull markets, plus Adrian has 25% leverage in most his funds, so gets that boost as well. Be careful of using leverage though, as during market corrections, your portfolio will go down 25% more than if you weren’t using it, and the covered call strategy won’t cushion the amplified fall, especially if it’s a short duration crash like in covid 2020.

    Thank you the video I always enjoy them and get great information. One question if you can clarify. If your funds are on drip, like hdiv, isn't the total value when you sell all the shares the total value since you owned it? because the dividend just bought more shares? You always say that you took a capital loss but ended positive because of the dividend. but the end value is the total value because the dividend just went to more shares. Thank you

    Question: Why is majority of your RRSP portfolio is in leveraged ETFs and your TFSA portfolio is more safer. I would think that while you young and able to work it is better to have leveraged ETFs in TFSA and more safer ETFs in RRSP (just in case? Just to be on safer side)?

    Thanks for the sharing. Really helps in thinking about my next moves. I am streamlining to 12 t0 14 investments in each of my accounts. Some of the moves are similar (HYLD) and some of very different. I am working on trying to get everything to a 12 percent consistent mark. Generally the estimator tells me I am already there but then there is reality. I decided to stay about 70 percent in the multi-sector funds and then 30 percent in industry specific based on opportunity, income and yield. I can always swap out but I want my core to be multi-sector with good income. Still more changes to come. We'll talk again no doubt.

    Investing in individual stocks can be a lucrative strategy, but it requires careful consideration and research. Different stocks offer various growth potentials and risks. Some may provide steady dividends, while others focus on capital appreciation. It's essential to diversify your stock portfolio to mitigate risk. Consulting a financial advisor can help tailor a strategy based on your risk tolerance, investment goals, and market conditions.

    Putting well-earned money into the stock market can be over emphasized for first-time investors, unlike a bank where interest is sure thing! Well, basically times are uncertain, the market is out of control, and banks are gradually failing. Times are always uncertain. The last time a major Canadian bank failed is about 100 years ago. Its from that experience that Canada's banking system is so regulated and reliable today with only 6 big banks. As for the U.S, I am not worried about owning funds owning the biggest banks in the world. Yes, smaller U.S regional banks will fail, but the markets eventually recover. Even with Lehman Brothers failing 15 years ago, the banking system survived.

      HDIV is more tax-efficient than HPYT in an OPEN account. Plus don't get too taken by HPYT's higher yield unless income is more important to you than growth. HPYT is down 4.7% on the year while HDIV is up 4.7%. So the 4.5% higher yield of HPYT may come at a cost of losing some capital or growth along the way.
      The point is yield is not the same as return. You should calculate the Total Return by adding the distributions to the return. So the Total Return for HDIV is 7.5% and -1% for HPYT

    BANK and ENCL are tax advantaged. They are 100% better than a few points on Yield. Dont pay the tax man your gains brother.
    At your 312k/yr income, you would be paying 2.76% more in tax on your non-eligible funds. If they actually produce 2.76%+ with management fees accounted for, sure. Or, hope the growth/divincreases outpace things.

      Indeed with over 80% ROC these funds pay out, the effective tax rate for 2023 was 0.61% and 1.06% for BANK and ENCL. Of course those numbers will vary each year. But for a non-resident like Adrian living in Panama, none of that matters. He gets whacked with a 25% tax rate no matter what type of income his funds earn

      @@Dividend-Shark90 I have HMAX. Its yield is slightly lower than BANK and BKCL. HMAX reduced its distribution 4 times and increased it once. I believe the distribution will vary each month going forward while BANK is more stable having increased its distribution twice. I will probably swap into BANK next month.

    Your charts are showing an 8% monthly dividend payout which is ridiculous. That would be an annual dividend payout of almost 100%. There is no company in the world that pays a dividend yield of 100%. Your charts should read a monthly dividend income of around $1000 with an annual dividend income of $12,000. A very misleading report here.

    Adrian I'm struggling with how to calculate what my tax headers are for income ETFs that were on DRIP in the tax year 2023. Things like roc, eligible and non eligible dividends, capital gains and losses etc.

    • @dkyrtata6688
      @dkyrtata6688 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Having your investment set up as DRIP does not change anything for tax purposes. The information you mentioned can be found in the T3 or T5 slips. The T5 does not specify ROC but your brokerage may give the breakdown of everything you mentioned. You can also get the information from the fund company website. The information is not relevant for tax purposes in a RRSP or TFSA.
