    So encouraging! Love to see young people achieve financial independence and live their best lives! Too late for me to achieve F.I.R.E. , but I still have enough time to substantially supplement my pension income in retirement. Whatever your goals - PII can work for you. I'm teaching my kids and helping them get their own portfolios going - to me, seeing their success will be worth as much as my own! Thank you Adriano and Erica!

    Nice to hear from other PII share their experience about PII. 😀
    The key message is that you do not need a 2 million dollar portfolio to FIRE.
    Once you have financial independence, life is much more enjoyable.
    Of course, the biggest benefit of being an PII is my emotions are completely detached from the market volatilities. I just count my dividends on Friday, then watch your video on Sunday. 😄 Thank you! 🙏

    Thanks Adrian and Erica. This video is amazing. I came to Canada as student. However, on my own, meaning no one to back me if anything happens, lived and grew in extreme poverty. Accumulated debts to pay Concordia fees, worked hard to pay them, but nothing worked. Did whatever I could but always struggled to meet month needs. Same even now. During pandemic I decided to explore how to earn other source of money. Sadly, no one wants to guide or mentor poor guys. Today I can tell what my colleagues did but they never shared any thing ..nevermind, i started educating myself and I did and growth plus PII. The money I saved was monthly metro pass for zone 3, plus one meal and one coffee, that's what I started my journey in October 2020. I reached you and got your ultimate sheet in 2021 ... I would say a big thank ... Btw I do reasearch and always share whatever I come across to you and everyone. I have decided to educate everyone around me so they don't go through the pain I went through... So again Adrian and Erica, lots of love and thank you ....

    Its only been about 6 months since I opened a Questrade account and moved my TFSA and RRSP accounts(Mutual Funds) from Bank. Scoured the TH-cam videos trying to gain a bit of knowledge. Gained some knowledge from "Canadian In a T-Shirt" on how to work with Questrade and "Wealth Simple". Good information and like his site as lots of info on taxes etc. Also followed a couple other You Tube channels. Stumbled on your site and everything clicked. Got your spreadsheet and used it as a guide. Have been tailoring my investments accordingly and love your content. Was a bit nerve racking buying in at top and then seeing drop in the market. Didnt even want to open my Questrade account for a bit as all I seen was RED. Now, I finally am at point of ignoring unrealized losses and just watching and reinvesting monthly dividends. Would not of been able to do this without your info . Keep up the good work.

    I made this suggestion before but there is an online program called Sharesight which is great to track your portfolio. One suggestion you should mention is that most apps/programs focus on growth. It is hard to ignore growth and it take disciple to follow the dividends. Again thank you for this.

    I really enjoyed this. Looking forward for more testimony's in the future. The part about selling property really hit home. Even though society, friends and family always say housing is the best investment I don't really believe it because a house doesn't pay you. I have a lot of equity in my condo. Am I crazy for selling my overpriced Toronto next year and investing the capital for income? I don't need the income so I could keep re-investing it for a few more years because I still like my job.

I'm new and I'm looking forward to making my money work for me and finding freedom by living off it passively! Great job with your teaching. Finally there is someone who can break this down in an easily understandable way for those us who don't have natural talent for investing and have a hard time grasping it! 👏 👏 👏

  • @basseon
    @basseon ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm not in the same situation. I'll never be able to retire early and live off of my passive income before I reach 60. I don't need a lot of income, I could not have to work if I had just 200k invested with a yield of 10% given monthly.
    I just did some math, and if I go all in with Passive Income instead of my actual mix of Growth/Passive Income, and if I reinvest everything, I could stop working in 15 years but I wouldn't make enough to do anything really (like travelling). That's why I started investing Growth style, thinking if I can optimize my capital over 10 years or so, I could sell and reinvest in high yield ETFs and retire at 55 instead of 60. But that's a big IF. The jury is still out, these are not easy decisions.

    • @PassiveIncomeInvesting
      @PassiveIncomeInvesting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the labour shortage is coming from all the incentives the government have been giving out for people not to work …. That’s what you get with socialism . They have the same issue in France

    Telus is a great company. It has a 4.5%+ dividend and a history of raising dividends about 7% per year. You should consider having great dividend growth stocks as part of your portfolio also. Yes the yield isn't as high as most of the covered call etfs, but over the long run, that dividend growth will translate into a much higher yield (it will double every 10 years, so that's 9% dividend yield on your initial investment) , and you'll get some capital appreciation also, while most covered call etfs will stay flat if they are run well. Just my opinion (However I still do own some "PII" etfs though 😀)

    • @PassiveIncomeInvesting
      @PassiveIncomeInvesting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is nothing wrong with single dividend stocks , but that’s not my channels focus .

  • @bentobox7788
    @bentobox7788 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fascinating. As a fellow Vancouverite, I selfishly suggest staying in the workforce. There's a short window where you can maximize your income due to the city's labour shortage, and funnel those savings into a heavily discounted stock market. Double wins!! You're still young. As Albert Einstein once said, “Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world." Don't waste this opportunity that's closing soon.
    While $50k of passive income looks great today, you also should watch out for inflation. An apartment we used to rent in Downtown Vancouver is about 80% more expensive now after 12 years.

    • @becominglimitless
      @becominglimitless ปีที่แล้ว

      This is so fun to read as it's been 5 months since you've left the comment, but we are at over $70k / year now :) I'd say it's keeping up with inflation nicely!

    • @bentobox7788
      @bentobox7788 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@becominglimitless Before I comment further, may I ask where the increases are coming from? You have to be more specific. If I want to, I can easily 10x my current passive income, but that doesn't mean it's sustainable or prudent.

I'd imagine these ETFs are in a taxable accounts, once TFSA/RRSP is maxed, so do holding these ETFs make it more complicated to report; Return of Capital (changes the Adjusted cost base), foreign dividend withholding tax, option premium on the covered calls, etc? If you really want to know what is needed to achieve that nice passive income, you could calculate it from their holdings as the dividend yield and weight are listed. Use those 2 numbers to calculate the average dividend percentage of the whole portfolio and extrapolate based on 63k year dividends. Just eye balling it, the dividend yield of the whole portfolio looks to be around 9-10%, so their portfolio is somewhere between 630k to 700k (this also assumes that their US holdings are listed in Canadian dollars).

      online dating website - usually only for good looking guys/women
      friend's friend
      going outside
      but being FI could mean getting pre-nup or equiv if things get serious. and if you have 7 digits, partner has 4 or less digits
