Sorry if i was not clear at the beginning... but this video focuses on U.S. Listed funds and tomorrows video will focus on the Canadian Market
Could you also do one for international investors who are looking to avoid withholding tax e.g. via ETNs or investing in companies /investment vehicles domiciled in countries which don´t charge withholding tax (e.g. JGPI)?
A blend of different ETFs is my favorite way of investing. For example, you could have some covered call etfs for dividends and other etf`s for growth. A combination such as : JEPI , DIVO , QYLD, SCHD and JEPQ. You have to combine them according to your own personal situation. I tallied my dividends for the previous year; $102k. Blessed, grateful, disciplined and focused.
I have many of these. SVOL anchors my portfolio. Love it.
Thank you for another video 😊
Cool review. I'm invested in about half the "core" ETFs you presented here in my Income portfolio, including your primary & secondary core ETFs of QQQY, JEPY and SVOL, which have been doing very well.
Thanks again! Great video 😊
This was really interesting. Thanks dude. You rock and/or roll.
Is there a way of knowing the Expected Return for these ETFs, as opposed to knowing the Yield?
Good video. Thank you for your efforts. It's up to the individual to do their own due diligence and see what's right for them..
This is such a great video! Good stuff. I have learnt so much from your channel and those interviews really boosted my confidence to invest. Would you also introduce some CEFs as core position in the future? Just thinking when it comes to diversification, maybe mix Buy-write and CEF would be better?
Hi Adrian,
2023 was a crazy year for my wife and mine online reselling buisness and I dived into PII both with TD and Wealthsimple. I’ve also opened a blossom account. Can you remind me of which platforms are best? I want to support our Banks but I also want to save on fees. Is it just a matter of cost vs connivence ? Thank you for being the intro into this world
Great picks for US ETFs Adrian! I also own QQQY and JEPY and plan to add more in 2024 or basically next week. Looking forward to see the Canadian ETFs video.
Excellent List of US ETFs! Maybe next a List of US HY CEFs?
Just curious on overall thoughts on SCHD? I understand it is not a CC ETF but appears to have a decent track record of paying/growing dividends along with price growth. Thank you
its great for a dividend investor
Yes, I dont call them core, I call them steady eddies. My steady eddies are GOF, PDI, JEPQ and adding SPYI. I also have defiant and yieldmax funds, Probably by end of 24 I will add SPHD and QQQ. Secret to all these funds is to feed the pig, always put some back into buying some ETFs shares and it will grow on its on. I like DIVO but that is to low, all mine have to be 10 percent and above. IWMY just gave me a 1.0 div!
I'm really looking hard at adding GOF but I'm concerned about the negatives of I've seen from many TH-cam "gurus" reviews of closed ended funds. Looking at it's history, the yield stays high. Even thought the NAV can drop quickly it shown a history of recovery.
@@kenother3877yup, I call it my steady eddie. Its a 5 star fund and is consistent with div, which is important. Its fee is high but the return is higher. The way you make these funds grow is when you get the div you buy more shares. I dont spend all of it because it pays my mortgage. I also have SPYI, JEPQ, PDI, TSLY, ULTY, IWMY and QQQY. The Yieldmax funds are a new way to get monster divs that use to be only for the rich. Conservative funds like SCHD, VOO, VTI are good for long term growth but i would rather have the div now then wait 20 years to start slowly selling off, with div i keep the principle and pays my lifestyle.
How do these stocks look like in a TFSA or cash Investment for Canadians tax wise?
If you already have a decent cash position is there really any need for these "income" funds vs. investing in the indices and selling long term gains to rebalance? Also, for JEPI and the like, how are the monthly dividends treated in regards to qualified or regular dividends? Would they be appropriate to be held in a taxable account? (all from the perspective of an investor in the US)
hi there, the tax info can be found on the funds website . income funds are designed for income, passive index etfs are designed for max. total return
JEPY and QQQY do not own any shares do they?
Obviously, looks like someone received a new camera for Christmas…great stuff and content
Great channel. I am investor from Uruguay. Do you know if there is any withholding tax on dividends distributed by Canadian ETF´s or on capital gains? Thanks
Clarification, DIVO has 20 holdings on which they write tactical calls depending on market conditions. Far from S&P index, and the holdings change on a regular basis. I agree it’s a more conservative dividend growth play, and total returns are not far from the S&P over 10 years.
Good review !
Have you heard of the new one called ISPY? Any thoughts on that?
I am diversifying into everything I always wanted to buy and build. Sub-portfolios of all kind of things. Things like growth and reits and bdcs and cefs just in case. The ymax+ funds are a means to get to where I want to go.
So if you were going to build an income portfolio out of four of these ETFs....what four would they be? I already own SVOL, JEPI, and JEPQ. Would you replace any of those and if so with what? and what would you add to them? The total portfolio is about $190K. I use 75% of the monthly dividends and reinvest 25%. I have a separate growth-only portfolio where all dividends are reinvested. I have chosen to bifurcate the total because both the goals and the strategies are so different between the two.
only you can answer that question :) the beauty of DIY investing!
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting You can't tell me what I should do, but you can tell me what you would do.
Best as always
Awesome information! Could you please look at JP Morgan’s newest ETF ticker HELO?
Good Evening, i was wondering if there was an Covered call etf that tracks the Dow Jones
DJIA from Global X on the U.S. side and BMO has one on the CDN side
Hi Adrian, awesome man! If being pessimistic, one gives up the upside with Q,X,R-YLD,
if their pessimism is correct and the markets do go down, these will track downward with the markets, right?
So one would give up the upside and get the downside they are pessimistically expecting?
Thanks!
You give up the upside to get the biggest cushion possible in the downside .if that makes sense
Thanks Adriano! I still prefer USCL vs JEPI
great income & top 100 snp companies like you had explained!
Maybe next I’ll look to add a Russel 2000 cc not decided yet :)
I am a fellow lover of USCL. Makes up 80% of my portfolio.
Canadian Market video coming out today
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting looking forward to it
Hey Adrian, thanks for the video. How come us listed covered call etf all seem to be outperformed by Canadian listed ones? The ones from Canada that also tracks sp500, things like uscc, uscl, hyld, smax, they all generate yields above 12%, how come none from us listed ones can ?
Monthly core covered calls:
JEPI, JEPQ, XYLD, QYLD, YMAX, QQQY.
index funds non cov calls:
SCHD, SPYD, VYM
other monthly core non index:
AMZY, TSLY, O, MAIN,
rest of my portfolio are BDCs, few REITs, and good single growth stocks. Pay quarterly.
Dump the QYLD and XYLD. Those are old school now. UTLY looks amazing as an ETF and can produce crazy div, but we dont know yet just came out.
Doesn’t look like gpix used Eln’s like keep
Have to see if this makes a difference in income or returns
Don’t accept someone’s advice just because they’re pretty. Hahahaha. Wise words. 😂
Why would you DRIP into JEPY or QQQY just to try to offset declining NAV? Sure that's what JEPQ and QQQY want you to do so that can buy more puts and prevent the erosion of cash in a sustained down market. A tried and true forecast of a recession is when an inverse yield curve occurs. It's happened so many times as to be a reliable indicator of a recession. And what happens to the QQQ and S&P during a recession? Something the prospectuses of JEPQ and QQQY warn of but so many TH-camrs seem to ignore. And holding these as your top positions? To me, this is the ultimate exercise of wishful thinking.
JEPY is currently outperforming JEPI and SPYI. QQQY is currently outperforming JEPQ. stop looking at stock prices, look at total returns. That's the best way i can answer your comment
QQQY and JEPY are 0dte put write etf's.
😊looking good😊
I'm thinking 40% Jepq, 40% Spyi and 20% Svol. Any opinion.
Put some Yieldmax in to increase your div, in my mind 10 percent div is low these days.
Is jepi a good one to actually live off the dividend?
y
TLTW is the only bond position you'll ever need. 25% forever...
I think AGGH, HIGH, and CSHI are interesting and safer than TLTW. Over the last year, they have outperformed TLTW in total returns. HYGW and LQDW have also outperformed TLTW in total returns over the last year.
AGGH will do quite well with falling interests rates.
yes all fixed income stuff should
Eit and clm were suppose to be hold forever too
I still think EIT is a good hold , clm however … but again a smart investor is constantly managing his portfolio no matter what 😉
@@mmmyeahhbut that is the point.... The title is just clickbait.
@@Jasonbc25 Yeah for real. Adrian has changed
@@Jasonbc25 ahaha true ! welcome to TH-cam !
In His SVOL video, the fund Manager has such a thick accent that I could not understand him much at all.
how about USCL & QQCL?
He has something like 90k invested in USCL according to one of his recent videos. Not sure why he didn't mention it.
tomorrows video will be on Canadian funds
@@TonyMontanaDS watch tomorrow...... I also have USCL
Please don't let this guy be your number one source for investing! After watching several of his videos he is clueless lite at best
What is up with ZWU? It went from 0.07 to 0.70 cent / share.
Hmmm you saw that on tip ranks right ? The bmo website says the Jan 3 2024 distribution is 0.07….

DIVO is like SCHD
nope, SCHD is not a Covered Call ETF. (similar holdings, yes that's true, but different strategy),
CC ETFs are horrible investments
Because you don't know yet how to play them.
