@@WorldofSK yeah! i didn’t find them until after Soojin had been removed but if you really listen to pick her voice out you start to realize just how well she fit the group. her music now is really calming and elegant. definitely someone to check out eventually
I would recommend their official mv over the Queendom performance. They did get called out for cultural appropriation due to the African themed set design and costumes on the show. It’s an excellent song either way, but I think she would enjoy the mv more.

EXID just about every song was completely produced by LE and SST. Mamamoo do compose aswell, a lot more of their recent songs the girls have a hand in the composition and between them have over 40 composing credits. Obviously back in the day Yeeun and Sunmi were composing for WonderGirls , Subin for Dalshabet and if you count them as a group Jiyoung for Bol4 before the split. Then theres newly debuted groups like Kiss of Life with Belle, Young Posse with Sunhye and tripleS with Sohyun. (G)I-dle are definitely the group who have used the self producing title to elevate themselves but it has happened in the past and more groups are doing it now than ever before, they are far from alone in it.

(G) Idle is pronounced as "Gee-Idle" (as you said at the beginning of the video) or just "Idle". G(Idle) is currently a five member group, composed of the members: Soyeon (leader, rapper and main producer), Minnie and Miyeon as the main vocals, Yuqi (vocal and dancer) and Shuhua (vocal, dancer and the youngest member). Originally they debuted as six, but unfortunately one of the members, Soojin, had to leave the group due to a very unfair bullying scandal which later was proved in court that she was innocent. She was the main dancer of the group and she's absolutely amazing at it. The girls were devastated when she left. Thankfully this year she re-debuted as a soloist. One thing about (G)Idle is that they are a self produced group, with Soyeon (the girl who first appears with the short blonde hair) producing, writing and composing 90% of their songs, literally since their debut song. In the last couple of years Minnie and Yuqi have joined Soyeon in writing and producing the group songs. As the group's main producer, Soyeon is the one who comes up with all the title songs, concepts, artistic direction for the MVs and about every single detail in their performances. Till 2021, she'd also come up with the choreographies together with Soojin. (G) Idle is not as focused on dance as Itzy but they actually dance quite a lot, it depends mostly on the concept they're pulling off. One beautiful thing about (G)Idle is that they're known for pulling so many different concepts and genres and they always commit to every single one. They're also unafraid of touching controversial topics within Kpop and Korean society and they always deliver a strong message about self love and confidence. They are my favorite 4th generation group and one of my favs overall. If I'd recommend another 4th gen group I also love, it would be Le Sserafim. P.S. 'Oh My God' is a song about being tempted by some sort of forbidden dangerous attraction. A lot of people believe it is a song about queer love, which is a controversial issue in Korea, and when asked about Soyeon said she'd let people interpret the way they wanted, whilst she has positioned herself as an ally to the LGBTQ+ community.
Im so happy you found (g) idle. Btw it's pronounced idle. They have got to be the best 4th generation kpop group out there and their leader Soyeon is amazing. Soyeon is the rapper who you notice multiple times and I'm telling you this now... SHE'S BAD ASS. She is the one who knows how to use everyones talents when they make their songs. Also she doesn't let anyone walk over her and her group. Awhile ago she dissed an entire award show for giving them awards like 'Down-Syndrom of the year' to disrespect them and nobody knew she would. Literally right after (g) idle accepted an award from them. Soyeon has to be one of the best rappers and producers in kpop history, she is up there with 2nd and 3rd gen. Which is really amazing for a 4th generation kpop leader. Only sad thing is Soojin who was kicked out of the group for false bullying allegations. But she has debuted on her own so I would recommend watching it.

So, as a neverland, I'd like to tell you a bit about each member and the group as well! (G)I-DLE (hangul: (여자)아이들), is a 5 member 4th gen girl group that debuted in May 2nd, 2018 with the song 'Latata', title in the EP 'I am'. In 2018, they won the award 'Rookie of the year' (ROTY) and a fun fact is that they're the 4th gen gg (girl group) with the most wins! (60 music show wins). They have one full album, 'I NEVER DIE', 7 EPs (one being an English EP, 'HEAT') and a couple of singles. They are the 4th gen gg with the most viewed MV, which is POP/STARS by K/DA (Cube bought the songs so I'll consider it as a (G)I-DLE MV), with 580+ million views. They had another member, Soojin, but she left in August 2021 due to bullying accusations that were proved false later on. She debuted again, as a soloist, this year. Her song, 'AGASSY' is very good, I recommend you to check it out! (Also a little thing, you can pronounce the group's name as 'Idol' or 'Gee Idol') Now, a bit about the members. The oldest (unnie) is Miyeon, and the youngest (maknae) is Shuhua. The rappers are Soyeon and Yuqi, but all of them can rap (in 'MY BAG', all the members rap). Both (G)I-dle and Stray Kids are self produced groups, which is very rare in kpop, so they have a lot of personality, as you noticed already. I really recommend watching some stuff of (G)I-dle as you did to Stray Kids, i think you'll enjoy it. Also, Soyeon (the rapper, usually short hair) is an once in a generation idol. She is simply a genius.

I absolutely love this series. If you want to check out another group I’d suggest you “Dreamcatcher”. They are kind of a black sheep in Korea due to their rock & metal influences. Songs like Boca & Scream. They have pretty intense choreographies (Wind Blows, Odd Eye, Scream, Chase Me, Good night) Their b sides are also bangers (Jazz bar, Black or White, Shatter)

Honestly, gidle was what got me into kpop - they're so unique and I love that they're not afraid to do their own thing! Also it's so refreshing to see a group who write and produce all of their own songs. Soyeon (the blonde one in the first video) writes and produces all of their songs. She also comes up with the concept for each comeback! The fact she can write such different vibes and still make them all have that gidle sound is so impressive to me! Some of the other members have written and produced a lot of songs, too. They're such a refreshing group and the fact they are all so unique and different, but all get on so well is so nice to see. It's a shame they get so much hate for being different - it's what makes them so amazing to me honestly. If you like them - they just announced their new comeback album - 2 - releasing jan 29th :)!

Soyeon is one of the best rappers in Kpop. CarKpop channel made an analysis of the top 10 kpop rappers and she is the only woman on the list. Gidle was the first kpop girl group that I fell in love with and still one of my most listened beside aespa, Mamamoo and Kiss of life. I am very picky when it comes to female artists and these bands in my opinion are the best right now. (New jeans is also very good but they r really not my style)

I really hope you keep up with (G)I-DLE even though this series is done! They really are probably the best in the game right now (in my opinion!) as far as girl groups go, but they are slept on just like you said. Or rather, people dismiss them a lot. They have their first all english album that just came out a couple months ago. Whole thing is great even if the girls didn't get to write for it. So if you continue with some k-pop here and there I really hope you'll do reaction content for these girls since they turned out to be your favorites anyway? Like you said they know their sound even if they switch genres which is what makes them so fun, they can do new interesting concepts every comeback. Soyeon won best songwriter last year and this year she snagged best producer and it is so sad kpop fans will still ignore her talent despite her proving it over and over. She's the definition of an Ace. Singing, dancing, writing, producing, planning the concepts and visuals, directing, she coaches on kpop survival shows pretty often, and she's stunning on top of all that! Them being "slept on" doesn't mean they aren't actively winning. They are a huge success and just won the biggest award in China for most streamed song of the year with Queencard. I love that they're winning with a song that took the korean term "퀸카" (KwinKa or Queencard) from being an "it girl" term used in 90's teen culture to a term any girl no matter their appearance can now use (as they say in the bridge). Who is doing it like IDLE? No one, honestly. And they don't take themselves too seriously, Queencards lyrics are supposed to be silly. The White Chicks reference is very much on purpose. The whole thing is fun. I'll stop the rant here, but thank you so much for choosing them as your final group!!

Most people pronounce Yuqi wrong, so here's how to pronounce it. Yuqi is a Chinese name, as she herself is Chinese and a lot of Chinese names are hard to pronounce for almost everyone except Chinese people (I'm Chinese). First it's not You-key as many people think that it is. The correct way to pronounce it is Woo-gee or You-gee. Also at the ending of Queencard when it says I FEEL... and then a word, I feel is the album name, and some of the words are songs in the I FEEL album.
sorry I have a lot to say lmfaoo I'm glad you enjoyed all their songs!! first of all you can pronounce their name either as gee-idle or just "idle" you were right about the queencard scene reminding you of white chicks, that was their reference! the entire queencard music video (and "allergy", which came before queencard story wise) was filled with references to other music videos and movies ! soyeon (the blonde you liked in uh oh) comes up with the concepts, is the main producer, and also writes all of their title tracks as well as some of the b-sides (yuqi and minnie also write a lot of their b-sides) they're a very involved, self-made group they're more of a live-performance focused group than a dance-focused group so if you ever watch a live stage I promise you won't even remember that the choreo is less intricate, cause unlike most Kpop groups idle prioritize singing live and delivering stage presence above all else ! plus, they lost their main dancer (soojin) due to a false scandal that ruined her career (but she's back now after 2 years of silence with "agassy") but some of their choreo still goes hard especially their b-sides !

In Korea there is a show street woman fighter and usually the dance crews that participate have been background dancers for kpop idols and some have choreographed kpop dances. I suggest reacting to some of them. Definitely worth your time.
Whoever made that list was good cuz uh-oh truly is the easiest listen to a non-kpop fan. And it is true that dancing is not gidles forte but that's why they bring their strange presence to a hundred 💯. Most of the songs are written by someone but the whole group did a collab with 88 rising and I honestly feel like you'd love it if u wanna continue listening to them.
Honestly gidle really reminds me of brown eyed girls, 2ne1 and 4minute. That edgy I don't give a damn, girl power, in your face type of group and there stage presence is similar to all the groups mentioned hype fun but never focused on just the dancing always focused on what gives the audience a great time.

I would recommend their official mv over the Queendom performance. They did get called out for cultural appropriation due to the African themed set design and costumes on the show. It’s an excellent song either way, but I think she would enjoy the mv more.

EXID just about every song was completely produced by LE and SST. Mamamoo do compose aswell, a lot more of their recent songs the girls have a hand in the composition and between them have over 40 composing credits. Obviously back in the day Yeeun and Sunmi were composing for WonderGirls , Subin for Dalshabet and if you count them as a group Jiyoung for Bol4 before the split. Then theres newly debuted groups like Kiss of Life with Belle, Young Posse with Sunhye and tripleS with Sohyun. (G)I-dle are definitely the group who have used the self producing title to elevate themselves but it has happened in the past and more groups are doing it now than ever before, they are far from alone in it.

(G) Idle is pronounced as "Gee-Idle" (as you said at the beginning of the video) or just "Idle".
G(Idle) is currently a five member group, composed of the members: Soyeon (leader, rapper and main producer), Minnie and Miyeon as the main vocals, Yuqi (vocal and dancer) and Shuhua (vocal, dancer and the youngest member).
Originally they debuted as six, but unfortunately one of the members, Soojin, had to leave the group due to a very unfair bullying scandal which later was proved in court that she was innocent. She was the main dancer of the group and she's absolutely amazing at it. The girls were devastated when she left. Thankfully this year she re-debuted as a soloist.
One thing about (G)Idle is that they are a self produced group, with Soyeon (the girl who first appears with the short blonde hair) producing, writing and composing 90% of their songs, literally since their debut song. In the last couple of years Minnie and Yuqi have joined Soyeon in writing and producing the group songs. As the group's main producer, Soyeon is the one who comes up with all the title songs, concepts, artistic direction for the MVs and about every single detail in their performances. Till 2021, she'd also come up with the choreographies together with Soojin.
(G) Idle is not as focused on dance as Itzy but they actually dance quite a lot, it depends mostly on the concept they're pulling off.
One beautiful thing about (G)Idle is that they're known for pulling so many different concepts and genres and they always commit to every single one. They're also unafraid of touching controversial topics within Kpop and Korean society and they always deliver a strong message about self love and confidence.
They are my favorite 4th generation group and one of my favs overall. If I'd recommend another 4th gen group I also love, it would be Le Sserafim.
P.S. 'Oh My God' is a song about being tempted by some sort of forbidden dangerous attraction. A lot of people believe it is a song about queer love, which is a controversial issue in Korea, and when asked about Soyeon said she'd let people interpret the way they wanted, whilst she has positioned herself as an ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

(G)I-DLE (hangul: (여자)아이들), is a 5 member 4th gen girl group that debuted in May 2nd, 2018 with the song 'Latata', title in the EP 'I am'. In 2018, they won the award 'Rookie of the year' (ROTY) and a fun fact is that they're the 4th gen gg (girl group) with the most wins! (60 music show wins). They have one full album, 'I NEVER DIE', 7 EPs (one being an English EP, 'HEAT') and a couple of singles. They are the 4th gen gg with the most viewed MV, which is POP/STARS by K/DA (Cube bought the songs so I'll consider it as a (G)I-DLE MV), with 580+ million views. They had another member, Soojin, but she left in August 2021 due to bullying accusations that were proved false later on. She debuted again, as a soloist, this year. Her song, 'AGASSY' is very good, I recommend you to check it out! (Also a little thing, you can pronounce the group's name as 'Idol' or 'Gee Idol')
Now, a bit about the members. The oldest (unnie) is Miyeon, and the youngest (maknae) is Shuhua. The rappers are Soyeon and Yuqi, but all of them can rap (in 'MY BAG', all the members rap). Minnie has also rapped in 'I'm the trend' and in her solo (?) song, 'Pink your moment' and she might've rapped on other songs that I can't rememer right now... haha
The main dancer is Yuqi, the main vocalists are Minnie and Miyeon, the visuals are Miyeon and Shuhua. Shuhua is also a vocalist. The one that writes most of the songs is Soyeon, but Minnie and Yuqi have also written a couple of songs for the group (I'm not sure if Miyeon or Shuhua have written any songs for I-DLE...)

-Miyeon used to be an MC for M Countdown.
-Miyeon was actually going to debut with Blackpink, but ended up debuting in I-DLE.
-Minnie is friends with a lot of idols, including Blackpink's Lisa!
-Minnie is Thai, Yuqi is Chinese and Shuhua was born in Taoyuan County. Soyeon and Miyeon are the Korean members.
-Yuqi has the deepest voice out of the 5 of them.

Both (G)I-dle and Stray Kids are self produced groups, which is very rare in kpop, so they have a lot of personality, as you noticed already. I really recommend watching some stuff of (G)I-dle as you did to Stray Kids, i think you'll enjoy it.

I absolutely love this series. If you want to check out another group I’d suggest you “Dreamcatcher”. They are kind of a black sheep in Korea due to their rock & metal influences. Songs like Boca & Scream. They have pretty intense choreographies (Wind Blows, Odd Eye, Scream, Chase Me, Good night) Their b sides are also bangers (Jazz bar, Black or White, Shatter)

Honestly, gidle was what got me into kpop - they're so unique and I love that they're not afraid to do their own thing! Also it's so refreshing to see a group who write and produce all of their own songs. Soyeon (the blonde one in the first video) writes and produces all of their songs. She also comes up with the concept for each comeback! The fact she can write such different vibes and still make them all have that gidle sound is so impressive to me! Some of the other members have written and produced a lot of songs, too.
They're such a refreshing group and the fact they are all so unique and different, but all get on so well is so nice to see. It's a shame they get so much hate for being different - it's what makes them so amazing to me honestly.

Soyeon is one of the best rappers in Kpop. CarKpop channel made an analysis of the top 10 kpop rappers and she is the only woman on the list. Gidle was the first kpop girl group that I fell in love with and still one of my most listened beside aespa, Mamamoo and Kiss of life. I am very picky when it comes to female artists and these bands in my opinion are the best right now. (New jeans is also very good but they r really not my style)

I really hope you keep up with (G)I-DLE even though this series is done! They really are probably the best in the game right now (in my opinion!) as far as girl groups go, but they are slept on just like you said. Or rather, people dismiss them a lot. They have their first all english album that just came out a couple months ago. Whole thing is great even if the girls didn't get to write for it. So if you continue with some k-pop here and there I really hope you'll do reaction content for these girls since they turned out to be your favorites anyway?
Like you said they know their sound even if they switch genres which is what makes them so fun, they can do new interesting concepts every comeback. Soyeon won best songwriter last year and this year she snagged best producer and it is so sad kpop fans will still ignore her talent despite her proving it over and over. She's the definition of an Ace. Singing, dancing, writing, producing, planning the concepts and visuals, directing, she coaches on kpop survival shows pretty often, and she's stunning on top of all that!
Them being "slept on" doesn't mean they aren't actively winning. They are a huge success and just won the biggest award in China for most streamed song of the year with Queencard. I love that they're winning with a song that took the korean term "퀸카" (KwinKa or Queencard) from being an "it girl" term used in 90's teen culture to a term any girl no matter their appearance can now use (as they say in the bridge). Who is doing it like IDLE? No one, honestly. And they don't take themselves too seriously, Queencards lyrics are supposed to be silly. The White Chicks reference is very much on purpose. The whole thing is fun.

I'm so glad you reacted to g idle and also the blond one in uh oh is named Soyeon. she is very talented and she writes produces and composes most of g idles songs. not only that but other people in the group also produces and writes some of there songs like miyeon yuqi and minnie.

for queencard, it was part 2 of a story and the first part was told in the music video for 'allergy' ! I'd really recommend watching it since queencard will make a lot more sense after seeing it, I'm glad you enjoyed gidle tho !!!

Most people pronounce Yuqi wrong, so here's how to pronounce it. Yuqi is a Chinese name, as she herself is Chinese and a lot of Chinese names are hard to pronounce for almost everyone except Chinese people (I'm Chinese). First it's not You-key as many people think that it is. The correct way to pronounce it is Woo-gee or You-gee. Also at the ending of Queencard when it says I FEEL... and then a word, I feel is the album name, and some of the words are songs in the I FEEL album.

you were right about the queencard scene reminding you of white chicks, that was their reference! the entire queencard music video (and "allergy", which came before queencard story wise) was filled with references to other music videos and movies !
soyeon (the blonde you liked in uh oh) comes up with the concepts, is the main producer, and also writes all of their title tracks as well as some of the b-sides (yuqi and minnie also write a lot of their b-sides) they're a very involved, self-made group
they're more of a live-performance focused group than a dance-focused group so if you ever watch a live stage I promise you won't even remember that the choreo is less intricate, cause unlike most Kpop groups idle prioritize singing live and delivering stage presence above all else ! plus, they lost their main dancer (soojin) due to a false scandal that ruined her career (but she's back now after 2 years of silence with "agassy") but some of their choreo still goes hard especially their b-sides !

In Korea there is a show street woman fighter and usually the dance crews that participate have been background dancers for kpop idols and some have choreographed kpop dances. I suggest reacting to some of them. Definitely worth your time.
Whoever made that list was good cuz uh-oh truly is the easiest listen to a non-kpop fan. And it is true that dancing is not gidles forte but that's why they bring their strange presence to a hundred 💯. Most of the songs are written by someone but the whole group did a collab with 88 rising and I honestly feel like you'd love it if u wanna continue listening to them.

Honestly gidle really reminds me of brown eyed girls, 2ne1 and 4minute. That edgy I don't give a damn, girl power, in your face type of group and there stage presence is similar to all the groups mentioned hype fun but never focused on just the dancing always focused on what gives the audience a great time.
