they go bad all the time on the 2.8 im afraid its simply a matter of time. Ask at ESaabParts they have a good spot to fix these ;) common faults on any E55 (ME9.6 ECU) also used on cadillacs but then without the turbo hardware are U2105 and any singular injector error or cilinder banks missing codes
I would be tough to do that, since they’re all caused by different things (in most cases). If you have a specific recommendation, I can try to point you to a video or make one if I can
Definitely the most overwhelming part of this hobby. More ecu and tech 2 content please Jacob. Lots of us have no clue starting out, cheers
It definitely can be a bit overwhelming - I’ll try to keep doing more like these on items I haven’t yet done content on
Praying someday you’ll get another 2.8T Saab! I miss the content
I’d love to! Great engine 🔥
Wish your video was out a few months back when I had to perform this process myself. Tech2 is the bomb! Wish I purchased one earlier.
Sorry I was late! Lol
Great info Jacob!
I need a Tech II in my life!
Thanks. It’s a great investment! See ya next weekend the meet
How about XWD models? I’ve heard you need a lawicel cable to be able to flash the XWD OS if you’re using an FWD donor Ecu?
You’ll need to ensure the part numbers are the same. To my knowledge, it needs to be a XWD ECU. This car was XWD and the owner bought a XWD ECU
@@AutoAutopsy okay that’s what I was hoping! Thank you!
Thank you, Sir.

Good info 👊🏼👍🏼
I'm still trying to get Global TIS setup on my laptop so I can use my Tech 2.
I recommend joining the Tech2 Facebook group for assistance!
@JohnDoesGarage if you’d like I’d be happy to help you. I have a method I do that usually works for modern setups!
Can you do a video on how to fix all warnings on dash (traction control, tpms, etc
I would be tough to do that, since they’re all caused by different things (in most cases). If you have a specific recommendation, I can try to point you to a video or make one if I can
@ I hooked it up and it doesn’t show codes even if the engine light pops up
why did you sell the 9-3 turbo x??
Yep! th-cam.com/video/4k_R2mDsro0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UkbzQw-K1AP11aVK
@AutoAutopsy Ok 👍👌
What symptoms was the car having?
Idle misfire. An ecu was not his first part he tried for the repair
@ a consistently misfired and would not stop? Having the same problems at the moment not my plugs or coils, but I’m almost certain it’s my ECU.
Anyway to contact you? I have a 2006 Saab 9-3 aero v6 that has a bad abs module. I replaced it but still won’t start does it have to be reprogrammed
Yes, it needs to be programmed. My email and Instagram are in the video description
Putting an ECU at about the hottest place of the vehicle, what could possibly go wrong? Oh wait!!
🤣🤣
Problem with the 2.8 ECU isnt necessarily heat, its vibration that kills these.
From where did you get the new ecu?
The owner here bought this on eBay. Generally speaking, esaabparts is the best place to buy an ecu
Did some kind of licensing fee have to be paid to put in the new ECU?
I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but no. It’s the cost of the ECU
🏁🏁🏁📽️😁👍
