That is SO DAMN AWESOME. I was one of the more "aggressive" commenters, telling Mr. Thang to at least add his name to all his 3D mechanisms, which he finally did 🙏🏼
I tried to claim several strikes against KM's channel but to no avail. TH-cam doesn't seem to care...
Glad you got that damn channel down ❤️

I have been subscribed to KM for months now and regularly watch his videos because they have me so interested. Just now, I find that all his videos are gone for some reason and thought it was a KM copycat channel (since there is some resin casting videos there now). So I searched for "King Mechanical" on youtube and... this. I cannot believe they were stolen videos all along.
Just subbed to Mr. Thang. It's good to know the man that really designed all of these wonderful mechanisms.

I'm glad, Mr. Thang has been working on TH-cam for years, making content available for free and a channel that stole videos from Mr. Thang had almost the same number of subscribers and recognition. I saw in the community part of his channel that he was having health problems, do you know if he has improved? He hasn't given any updates since then. I have an idea for a device I wanted to create as well but I don't have the mechanical knowledge yet to fully develop the idea.

I've been trying to keep in touch with him. Not much has changed, sadly.... All we can do for now is pray to good health for him.
Regarding the last bit, I'd be down to help you out with some modelling / animating. I'm certainly not as professional as Mr. Thang, as I use GeoGebra instead of Autodesk Inventor, but I'm willing to give my best shot.
If you are interested, feel free to message me on Discord. ^^^

@@ArglinV3 Thank you very much for the answer, regarding my project I will try to make an illustration on paper to be able to explain it to you, will I send you an email on your channel email to pass Discord when I have the drawing ready? I'm learning English, maybe that makes things a little difficult. Regarding Mr Thang, I hope he gets better soon, and congratulations on having managed to remove the stolen videos from the other channel, I forgot to mention that yesterday.

I mean, did they credit your invention as their own or did they just upload it as a random, anonymous mechanism that looked cool? Cause if it was the second case, then... thanks for making it harder to search for intricate mechanism ideas, I guess?

    • @ArglinV3
      @ArglinV3  ปีที่แล้ว +4

Hi, thanks for addressing your concerns.
With regards to the first part: They don't credit the invention itself in particular as their own, but they imply crediting themselves for creating all of the videos, as they would try to obfuscate Mr. Thang's watermark and add their own watermark on top.
With regards to the second part: I would be more understanding if it was reuploaded elsewhere like Facebook, BiliBili, Niconico, et cetera, because yes, not everyone is using or can use TH-cam, and so it would benefit in spreading the information further out. (I would still be very annoyed about the discrediting as I feel it's unethical, but it still benefits everyone as a whole, which lines up with Mr. Thang and my primary interests.) However, King Mechanical re-uploaded the same videos onto TH-cam with a nearly identical title, or as a part of a really long compilation. Either way, it doesn't benefit anyone who's trying to search for any specific mechanisms.
Now with those addressed, I would like to note that I haven't done this with everyone on the TH-cam platform; I've only submitted the copyright complaints specifically towards King Mechanical. It's because it was very clear that, unlike the majority of everyone reuploading Mr. Thang's videos, King Mechanical was not doing it with the innocent interest of reuploading "a random, anonymous mechanism that looked cool," as you suggested. It became quite clear that they were doing it as a cop-out approach to gain monetary value using other people's content. Almost everything they did point towards it.
      1. It was already mentioned earlier that they try to obfuscate the watermark and add their own. If they were just uploading it because they wanted to share it with more people, why go through that effort?
      2. Although I don't have full confirmation that this is true or not, I'm willing to believe they're also actively trying to remove comments about the content being taken from Mr. Thang, as I've commented before and the comments disappeared, and there is a suspiciously absent amount of comments making any mention of him.
      3. They repeatedly try to promote their channel by replying to people's comments, saying to like the video and subscribe, so it can grow the channel.
      4. A few days after I released this video, they also started stealing resin art project videos from someone else named Ngyuen Vuong (who runs a channel called DIYEverything), which well, has no relevance to mechanisms.
(Those videos have since been taken down, this time without my involvement.)
They are well above the threshold to gain access to monetization, and there is quite a lot of money that they can make off of it.
What it does do is hurt Mr. Thang, as they are stealing a decent portion of his viewership and as a result, his money: why would you watch Mr. Thang's video if there is a good chance you've already watched it over on King Mechanical's channel? If you're looking for the mechanism for a one-off project, you only needed to see that mechanism once or twice.
Frankly, the whole thing benefits no one much, other than King Mechanical.
I didn't have any regrets at the time of filing those copyright complaints, and I still have none now.
As an additional footnote, I would like to mention that if someone needs any help finding a mechanism, I am very much in support of directing people to Mr. Thang. He's very knowledgeable and has been able to answer a lot of questions people have thrown at him--considering he's spent 12+ years of his life just studying and animating mechanisms, added over his decades of experience as a mechanical engineer--probably much more than someone who just reuploads his videos willy-nilly.
So if anything, as food for thought, removing King Mechanical may have had a minorly beneficial side effect, as the people who have inquiries are more likely to get their answers, now that they're being forwarded to the right place.
      Thanks for reading.

He's brilliant and would be better if the videos were categorized in playlists.
