  • This is the last episode, the V8 S2000 is done.
    In this episode you can see install the new replacement motor, work out some bugs , dyno tune and call it done.
    The car drives great, everything works, blows cold AC and has bags of power and still has all emission equipment
    I'm trying to upload a new video every Friday, but this customer is due to pick it up tomorrow( Friday) and I 'd like him to see it first
    Weight Concerns/questions: ????
    The LS motor weighs 72lbs more than the S2000 motor. The Kraftwerks supercharger kit weights 84lbs. Most turbo kits come in about the same if not more.
    Thanks for watching, if you like what we do , please Subscribe for more.
    We don't spam you, you simply get an update when we upload a new video.

    I'm a purist and could never do that to my S2000 but, that is a seriously awesome conversion, looks good in the bay, sounds amazing and the chassis handles the torque surprisingly well - top job, yet again - keep them coming !

    LHTPerformance It's pretty entertaining to read comments on a V8 S2000 from people that have obviously never driven one lol! Having picked up the car this morning, I know I've made the right decision "for me."
    To all of those that are asking, I can't (and won't) give you what I paid bc truth be told, my experience was like no other and had all types of expenses that I wouldn't have if I was to do it again. My advice: call LHT and get on their very busy schedule, get them a viable donor car, and let them do the rest...period!
    First impressions: it's awesome and fast as hell! I do need to address the added heat of the cats (that I need for state emissions) and the trans tunnel but other that, everything is great related to the swap itself...full cluster and cruise control is operational with cold AC.

    @LHTPerformance excellent work. LS sits perfectly in that engine bay as if it were stock. very professional. great video. wish we had more people like you in the business. any reason brakes, bushings or mounts were not upgraded to handle the power?

    • @JS04
      @JS04 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely because the added power really isn't that much over what the stock f series can do. Think all the boosted F20C s2ks that make more power than this one but have no issues with the stock brakes.

    At the End, WELL SAID!! At my old shop i worked at we believe the same thing..... Tho now, is no diff. just getting a more wider base type of clients. Americn Muscle to Euro to Imports and he(boss man) can do it all like you guys.... Love these S2000 vids.... I WISH i could boost mine just for a bit more fun factor but nothing more and loose reliability since we have no track and only AutoX or Drag but i cant afford either so i just drive and enjoy the drive were ever i go but did up grade to JL ZRs in the door and tweets in the driver nd pass Apillar and sub in the trunk and Sound AMAZING for being a Vert.... Just gotta hver good SQ comps, Amps and a good box for a big 8(JL, Sundown, DC or Aline type R) or med 10(Alpine Type S, Rockford T0or 1, or a Sundown SA) or go BIG with a Orion HCCA 10 Like me with the control and pound it when those songs hit and your not in a busy area or on freeway/back roads....... Keep Up The Great Work You Guys Put In!!!!! It Shows and I for one appreciate seeing theres still guys like you out there wanting top notch work and parts. Not the cheap stuff that falls aparrt in no time!! *bow* to ur work ethic and the results u get!!!

      Newer motors are designed to seat the rings almost instantly. Most new engine don’t require break in like the old day. Do what makes you or your engine builder feel right.

    Hey John I would like to know once u do an engine swap like Gm motor to an s2000 how do u get to pass smug emissions test if I reside in a state like New York that require a yearly inspection.

    • @LHTPerformance
      @LHTPerformance  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      H C I would check with your State. In most States as long as you keep all the emission controls functional from the swapped engine you’re good. Also the OBD2 serial port needs to function correctly too. All are no problem if needed.

  • @netmatrix75
    @netmatrix75 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Amazing swap. But i wonder how the handling would be affected? Maybe the dampers/springs needs to be upgraded. But i would rather go the turbo route to get 300HP. Sure this may have a lot more power and torque, the original driving dynamics of the car is a concern for me.

    • @LHTPerformance
      @LHTPerformance  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A Kraftwerks supercharger kits adds 84lbs , most turbo kits are similar. The LS motor adds 72lbs over the stock S2000.

    Great job guys!

    • @ryanfulkman
      @ryanfulkman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      M Palmer, supercharging the stock motor is the less expensive option.
      The LS swap will be a better daily driver. It has lots more low end power for traffic, you make power without reving and working the motor.
      In a race? Like John said. I'm not sure which would win.

    • @WezleyB
      @WezleyB 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on what kind of a race....
      Drag racing, the v8 for sure.. but in a twisty track I'll bet the SC s2000 would be more balanced and easier to make fast laps..

    • @palmer307
      @palmer307 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting perspective. I am in the market for an S2000 for the Chicagoland area. I don’t intend on tracking it, just driving it on weekends whenever weather allows and some days during the week.
      Of course I’d like to go fast in a straight line, however, power and torque are important when moving in and out traffic quickly in and around chicago and in the twisties in the burbs.
      Seemingly, it seems like the V8 swap would be way more expensive because you need wider tires and other support for the rear for that power. Am I right to assume that?
      Would like insight on the hands down easiest to own and maintain headache free option. I like both so much! I feel like a full kraftwerks kit plus dual skunk2 exhaust will be just as much as a V8 swap. What’s the cost difference?

      M Palmer I have a mostly stock ap1, it is plenty fast enough it will fly past anybody on the on ramp, and if I drive it easy I still get 28 miles to the gallon...

      M Palmer to have something that revs up to 9000 RPM is amazingly fun and the sound is crazy. the v8's cant do that..
