    It'll be better if you write the cost of acquiring those miles (credit card annual fees that can't be waived, or card up fees, etc).

    May I ask, earning more than 1 million miles now, will there be an advantage in your kris flyer membership? Because Qantas frequent flyer, I earned 350K miles within a year and they upgraded me to Qantas club membership.

    What do you think about the UOB krisflyer debit card? Is it useful in accumulating many miles?

  • @chandanicaremmygervais
    @chandanicaremmygervais ปีที่แล้ว

    But nowadays, its so difficult to have seats available for redemption. You have use them all up within 36 months right? Or are you a PPS club member by any chance where your miles can last longer?

    hi Seth! Not a big spender but this got me interested! I also want to go Japan hee
    Just curious, did you tally the total amt we have to spend to achieve this 1m miles? Thank you!

    • @Sethisfy
      @Sethisfy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use exclusively 4 mpd cards, 1 million would take $250,000 of spending.
      I managed to clock significant amounts at at 8 mpd rate, and converted quite a lot of points with 15% bonus. So my spending is considerably lower.
      Of course you just need 94,000 of miles to go to Japan. :D

    Is Cardup worth using if I want to clock miles on spending such as income tax and car loans? Or would the cost from the cardup fees outweigh the benefits of being able to collect miles

    • @Sethisfy
      @Sethisfy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First payment is free miles: sethisfy.com/cardup
      Subsequently you are buying miles based on Service Fee ÷ Earn Rate of Card.
      Typically with promo codes you might be able to reduce to 1.8 to 2%, and your earn rate can be 1.2 to 1.4 miles per dollar. At 1.8% fee and 1.4 mpd, you are buying each mile at 1.29 cents. Whether this is worth it depends on how much you are willing to pay for your flights

    What do u think about the krisflyer UOB card

    • @Sethisfy
      @Sethisfy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's a decent card for those who are lazy to use multiple cards. But a 3mpd card is lacklustre when there are 4 mpd cards around. Also, you need to be able to fulfil the SQ spend otherwise it's just another generic 1.2 mpd card.
      Wrote a review on it here (briefly updated for 2022): sethisfy.com/review-uob-krisflyer-credit-card-unlimited-3-mpd-card-for-the-lazy-mile-collector/

    • @Sethisfy

    May I find out what’s the best credit card to use for cardup? Is there a card that entitles 4miles per dollar?

    • @Sethisfy
      @Sethisfy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're looking at miles I think you can only use 1.2 to 1.6 mpd cards. 4 mpd cards have excluded cardup

    if can't travel during this pandemic, I am worried the miles will expire at some point in time

    • @Sethisfy
      @Sethisfy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Singapore Air is sticking to its annoying 3-year expiry unlike some airlines which have removed expiries or made it easy to refresh the expiry. To their credit they have been constantly pushing back the expiry. All miles due to expire in 2022 will be pushed back to 2023 at least.

    Noob qn, I thought its quite difficult to keep the 4mpd miles to avoid the expiry issue?

    • @Sethisfy
      @Sethisfy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are ways to get around it which is to keep your bank points as points for as long as possible. Most points can be kept with the bank anyway between 1 to 5 years, then when they are nearing expiry you can then convert to KrisFlyer which has another 3 years of expiry.
      You can also transfer them to some airlines which impose no expiry on their miles.

      OCBC Titanium Rewards can earn 4 mpd in situations Citi Rewards can't. For big ticket items like electronics, it doesn't have a monthly cap which Citi Rewards does
