As an elder millennial, one of the few advantages is having lived through the Great Recession. My advice. Reduce unnecessary expenses, increase your savings by investing in financial markets and do not sell. One thing I know for sure is that diversifying your income can help insulate you from much of the craziness going on in the world.
@Finest Bear Hug Only a good FA will be enough to guide you through the current market volatility. I've been speaking with an advisor for a while now, primarily because I don't have the necessary expertise or stamina to handle these recurrent market conditions. The fact that I made over $220K during this downturn proved that there is more to the market than the typical person is aware of. The greatest course of action right now is to have an investing consultant, especially for people who are nearing retirement.

My Portfolio is managed by JEANNE LYNN WOLF, whom I found out about and contacted after seeing her on a CNBC interview. It has since acted as the starting and ending point for the games we have prioritized. If tracking is required, an internet search can be done.

I looked her up online and found her website, which I browsed and went through to learn more about her credentials, academic background, and career. She owes me a fiduciary duty to act in my best interests. I set up an appointment to use her services.
I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both? However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait but watching my portfolio of $450k dwindle away is such an eye -sore.
There are many other interesting stocks in many industries that you might follow. You don't have to act on every forecast, so I'll suggest that you work with a financial advisor who can help you choose the best times to purchase and sell the shares or ETFs you want to acquire.
I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

Guys do your homework before talking, Mott know his job and he is very good at it. Most of you new bulls can't compare long term, what is your average gains in % for the last 10 years on a yearly bases ??? Anyway you buy stock as much as you like ,I will take all of your money on the way down.

There was no put wall at 3500. S&P was where it’s at now in May of 2021 & 2022. It’s been great for swing trading but that’s about it.
Nobody is still short at 3500. You’re talking about ancient history from last October. Those positions have been closed long ago.

@dave9102 positive divergence on daily and possibly weekly rsi. The s&p making a negative difference on all indicators too. Nothing aligned with the Thursday rally.

I think it's time to take back your 2023 prediction of markets taking out OCT-2022 lows for NQ for sure, doubt if it will come true on ES as well.
The RSP tells the story. Whats confusing most analysts is quite simple. The AI newest fad, and we know how this will play out like all others, is propping up 10 highly weighted s and p and nasdaq stocks defying conventional analysis. They will be the last "generals" to fall. Its what my mentors have taught me over 23 years. Always proves to be right. We just dont know when.
When? As soon as the new debt ceiling is cleared money will flow back into treasuries

@Fady Zalzal lets be precise. The treasury will have to sell bonds to raise money thus drving down bond prices which in turn means higher yields or rates. Look at the 10 year right now already anticipating it.
I don't think US markets will go below OCT-2022 lows this year. Something major has to happen to take out OCT-2022 lows.
I suggest you look East to ------------------------> Eastern Ukraine. Tank Battle looming between Russia vs. Ukraine. Putin plays dirty and starts striking a NATO Member --------------------> WWIII .😵
