The use of rotoscoping in this is absolutely brilliant. And the song slaps hard too. Rotoscoping isn't specifically mixing 2d and real life, but refers to tracing movements that were done in real life and animating the movements really accurately. It's how for example the drumming in Kids On The Slope is so accurate. Its also how A Scanner Darkly was animated.
I really like how this music video reflects the theme in the lyrics of Stellar Stellar that Suisei doesn't want to be a waiting Cinderella, but the prince and protagonist.
the backup dancers being no-faces is common in Hololive productions, whenever they need generic backup dancers instead of specific holomems. I would LOVE to see the behind-the-scenes because the technology and the organization really fascinates me, but revealing the tricks would also change the magic of Hololive.
Theres a video tour of the new studio you could check out. Goes through all the mocap rooms. There's insane amount of cameras and each one is a nutty amount of money. VICON VK-26 Valkyrie Mocap Camers. Apparently studio A has over 100 of them installed. Each is 59k retail.
Hololive is very adamant about the talents themselves doing all of their mocap in the 3Ds, so I think it would be a safe bet to assume she did her own for the rotoscoping here.
@@zrevi5918Really? I looked in the credits, and there is no mention of an actor for Suisei; she appears only as the vocalist. You can say that the one who appears alone and credited only as "actor" is Suisei, but that one is the "Director". After that, all of the actors are credited also as producers or management, lol. Maybe the one credited as choreographer and actor? It doesn't say they're Suisei, but they are also credited separately.
I LOVE this MV so much! The editing on this video is CRAZY, plus the rotoscoping on top of that! Everything about this video is just SO GOOD! As of writing this comment, the MV has reached 7 million views in 10 days! Great video Yuki and Yuna!
I don't think the dancer at the very end is irl Suisei, just because she did this song at the end of her recent 3d live, and she just doesn't move the same way as this person. It's possible she was having an off day when she recorded that, or was just killing it when recording this, but I think it's more likely they just hired a pro dancer for the dance music video
I love the song and video. I agree the head on the body at the end looks a bit weird though. All I could think of the first time I watched the video was that it reminded me of Kronii's story about sticking up for her manager.
One heck of a MV. I like the mix of animation and real footage. Kinda makes me think of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and other mixed movies. Gotta check Corridor Digital and see their Animators/VFX Artists React episodes (if we get enough people to suggest it, they may take a look at it and discuss how it was done). The music didn't stand out too much, although I want to check the lyrics translation and see if that changes my opinion.
The thing about animating the hands at the end might be because Hololive decided that talents can no longer show their hands after HoloMyth did a fingernail painting collab. I do not know why this is the case, but it might be because some talents are not comfortable showing their hands, and rather than have fans challenge a talent about that, they decided to put an end to it before it even started.
I don't think it's Rotoscoped, Rotoscoping is when you have the actors perform the actions and then you paint over it with animation. The animation style is probably just called "live-action animated", no fun fancy name attached to it. The song itself is a banger, she also performed it in her 6th anniversary live concert which was also amazing

Ohh! We see! Thanks or the information!
It's also how they did lightsabers and a lot of the other special effects of the original trilogy of Star Wars.
The earliest Disney movies like Snow White were also almost completely rotoscoped.
This entire banger of an MV is a technical masterpiece and Suisei yeeting her shoe at the director is the cherry on top.
The shoe yeet and expressions made us laugh!
I really like how this music video reflects the theme in the lyrics of Stellar Stellar that Suisei doesn't want to be a waiting Cinderella, but the prince and protagonist.
Ohhh! Yes! That is so neat!

Ah ! Thanks for the information! Maybe one day we'll get some behind the scenes info!

Oh that is cool!
Someone on reddit said that on the credits there is a actor for suisei

I love that Suisei blows up at the director for hitting her manager 😆
I'D FIGHT PEOPLE IF THEY HIT MY MANAGER TOO! I'D THROW MORE THAN JUST A SHOE!!!! - Yuki
he dissapeared after the completion of the video and hasnt been found, RIP director, you shouldnt have done that :}
@@ChronoTriggerHappy Poor man didn't know the risk he was taking😢
His career was just axed suddenly, no explanations given. It's the weirdest thing, really.
3:48 that's her alright, just look at her justice. All you need to know.
The song is simple and of course keeps ringing in my brain and I like the memes that emerge from this MV
The memes are A+!

Great video Yuki and Yuna!
The MV direction is great and very entertaining!

Could be! Regardless the dancing was great. :) Would love to see Suisei live in person at some point ourselves if we ever got lucky!
The movement looks different because of how rotoscoping works running at a lower FPS than typical animation and 3d tracking.
I love the song and video. I agree the head on the body at the end looks a bit weird though. All I could think of the first time I watched the video was that it reminded me of Kronii's story about sticking up for her manager.

Yes, we were definitely thinking of Who Framed Roger Rabbit!
Thanks for taking time to analyze the MV and the music, rather than simply emoting to it.
Thanks for watching and for the feedback!

Ah, could be. Not entirely sure what Holo's stance is on things but it's not totally unrealistic.
i didn't know that there other twin vtuber other than fuwamoco
Glad you found us! We also like FWMC as well. :)
Didn't know there another twin vtubers here, I guess there one motherly hawk is watching you secretly, lurking around here.
:) Thanks for watching!
It was cool , and i do have it in my head now and even do the finger wag, She is rotoscoped and it's live-action animation
We definitely enjoyed the song and video!
Next reaction gotta be identity cover by fuwamoco 🙌
We will consider it!
I think a lot of the animating work Reminds me a little of the old Disney Style, where animating with less FPS is more forgiving.
Definitely! We agree! Plus the whole Cinderella motif and Prince's color scheme!

It's both.
Thank you for the info!
Good thing the Director only got the shoe, what if... the "Axe"?
RIP director if so....
あー海外のVチューバーだー!

This was a great MV. Suisei always does great stuff
One of our fav MVs!
Love your reactions (:
Thank you!
2:20 사카밤바스피스 같아 보인다.
I liked it a lot. Song was ok but I think Suisei have better ones. But visals and how they are combining 2D and live action was just amazing.
The MV was one of the best ones we think!
Try react to kobo song help, is a good song.
Thanks for the suggestion!
