the game was made for SSAO lighting. the very high setting defaults to the HBAO lighting setting, which is way worse. i believe selecting the SSAO lighting fixes the weird cutscene lighting issues
Thats the thing about PC reviews, its so user dependent so we have no idea if things are different because of his PC, his settings, or if its the port. Youre probably right, its always in the back of my head when watching console to PC comparisons that it could totally just be user settings they didnt get matched right

I just hate the coloration on pc, It doesn't make sense to change something that already worked so well, it ruins the vast majority of scenes by having everything so unnecessarily lit even at night. I hope a modder can change that, It's my only complaint on the PC version and I'm really glad you mentioned it.

The loading problems with both games seem to be due to the choices the developers have made in regards to multithreading. It'll max out one or two threads during loading but leave the others untouched.
The biggest difference will be you can play this with the highest graphics setting and over 60fps at the same time. Whereas fidelity mode won't give as high settings as the pc and only 30fps which is rough after playing 60 and above.
I think the difference in lighting is due to the fact that consoles, unlike PCs, don't use the sRGB color spectrum. Instead, use Rec. 709, which preserves more of the original colors in high contrast. Not to mention that the Ambient Occlusion on the console is SSAO, which tends to make environments darker, but less accurate than HBAO+

Yeah that scene of Peter and miles on the rooftops looks too lit. Like I get for the viewer you want to make them stand out but it looks more studio setup that way vs being outside in the natural light. Also makes Miles look whitewashed to a degree.

Interesting there's no mention of the enhanced ray tracing features on PC that cannot used on any PS5 mode. Breif glance and the superior ray tracing on PC. Not sure if it was a bug with your PC, if you are running Radeon or you didn't download Nvidia latest driver but I didn't notice that issue on my 4090.

Almost every game I can think of has much brighter lighting in the PC version. I always wondered why. And it does end up making things look worse a lot of the time. Especially on light-colour surfaces because they end up reflecting too much light.

a thing ive noticed alot in these comparisons is that the ps5 makes the colour black black whilst on the series x and pc its grayer like in metro exodus in dark areas it just looks the dark spots are dark gray rather than black whilst on playstation its black

The game looks great in fidelity mode but unfortunately that means 30 fps on ps5, Meanwhile on pc you can have fidelity mode with improved ray tracing, draw distance & shadows at over 120fps.
Isn't the image brightness on PC affected by the the GPU you're using, in your case nVidia GPU, that tend to be brighter due to the color profile used by the manufacturer!
That's a good theory, but doesn't really work considering I've done many PS5 vs PC comparisons this year and did NOT have this phenomenon occur. Spider-Man Remastered didn't even have this issue.

Difference in rendering of the lights looks like the difference when you change the color space from Gamma to Linear. But the skin detail texture feels lower res.
This might sound crazy but in a lot of cases, 4K with DLSS set to quality looks better than native 4K. Remember, DLSS is also doing anti aliasing. Now THIS is a title where the difference in performancebetween PS5 and my laptop was huge for me. I played the 40 FPS mode on PS5, and on PC with everything maxed out and RT on, at 4K native, BUT, DLSS quality mode on (base resolution of 1440P therefore), and frame gen, I was into the 180 FPS range, well beyond my 144hz refresh rate. I ended up turning gen off and just locking it to 120. If I wanted maxed everything with native 4K and no DLSS, I could lock it at 72 with room to spare, so about double the PS5.. but is the PS5 doing a real, *native* 4K the entire time in fidelity mode? I don't think so.
This is so tough. On the one hand, you CAN see, feel, and objectively tell the difference; at the same time- man, you don't need to buy a game twice....sale maybe for me, all the same; PC PEOPLE, REJOICE, THIS GAME IS, IMO, EVEN MORE SUPER BAM THAN THE FIRST! Some fight clips to attest......ssssshhoot i am totally gonna buy this again.
In fact that is exactly what happens here. I suggest you look at DF's analysis to see the difference between PS5's RT and that found in the PC version. This video unfortunately does not show it in detail.
Because PC has to target multiple specs and graphics card. Newer games built for one specific machine rarely translates perfectly to another. Plus PS5 has some features the PC has yet to implement properly.
Seems like all the PS4/PS5 releases I've played on steam looks so different than when I play it on PS5 like it's too clear and bright to the point everything looks like plastic, except for Days Gone it looks perfect.

Yeah I played the game on PS4 Pro and it looked realistic but now on PC it does not, as explained in the video that there is some alteration with the lighting. Also game depends a lot on CPU power. Which is not good.

PS5 and PC can go high or ultra and PS5 has pretty powerful CPU. Also, good and detailed open-world titles like RDR2, will need a powerful CPU while a generic open-world title won't need much power. Imo, Horizon is the only badly optimized game sony. All others seem to work fine.

Everything surpassed in Spiderman 2 (2023) on PS5. Better graphics, more NPCs and elements density, much better RT... with the map being almost twice as big as that of Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales

That’s because 2.0 renders the game at a lower resolution then uses machine learning to upscale the image, which isn’t always accurate. 3.0, on the other hand, renders at the native resolution so it retains accurate details but interpolates generated frames..

SSAO is best in PC for spiderman remastered and Mile Morales both but in default it's HBAO+
The PC version has slightly more exaggerated swagger to the animations which is always a positive.

Running the game on an M.2 SSD It's much quicker than the PS5, so I guess it depends on your drive in that sense and it's speed.

You WOULD think they would sound the same but they don’t As an audiophile clearly the PC is better. Better ambiance . City sound more alive. And if I had to point to one thing it would be the whistle that is absent from the console.
