This version is updated with her A5 from Sweetest Devotion on Tour.
Adele has improved tremendously ever since she released 25. Every region of her voice got better but the biggest improvement was her lower register, in my opinion, that went from non-existent to a pretty good/solid one. Her belts also improved drastically, specially above B4. This era she sang Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You in the original keys for the first time. So all this inspired me to do a video to showcase her vocals, enjoy and share!

She ain't male to do lower. Only contraltos or very few mezzo's can hit the 2nd octave. Adele is a low mezzo tho
Gabriel Ximenes Vocal range isn't really the range but the vocal type and texture. Thats why it's also called as Vocal Type.
Mariah is a light lyric Soprano but she can sing resonant 2nd octave notes.

Adele is the example that you don't need to reach crazy notes to be an excellent vocalist. Especially she does not scream like many do.
She finalized what Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse started: The Whitney, Mariah, Celine, C. Aguilera era of vocal acrobatics with very powerful voices to hide poor lyrics.

Whitney was because of the abuse of drugs and Cristina Aguilera I think it's due to a bad technique, she seems to push her larynx too high too often.

people talk about her range, but she packs so much of a punch into it! she's a master of emoting. that's why sia, rihanna & her will always have a place in my heart. despite them not having the biggest ranges or people saying they can't sing, they all bring something to the table that many artists don't: emotion. Sia with Chandelier, Rihanna with Diamonds/LOTB & Adele with Remedy all showed their peak & i'm loving it. wonderful artists.

Definitely not. She needs technique along with that amazing tone. But she is undoubtably a beautiful singer. The best singers of all time are like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Sohyang (though her tone is not for everyone) and Beyoncé because they’re technique vocal beasts and sound amazing.
Her thick 3rd octave notes made me think they're lower than they actually were. Love them ♥

Actually, she has a bit more than 2,5 octaves, but she can't have a 3,5 octaves at the moment (her vocal range is B2-A5 - 2 octaves and 10 semitones).
To everyone who claims Adele only has a small vocal range. In total, that's almost three octaves, which is not the largest range, but really not bad. Besides, that's not all that matters. Adele is a brilliant singer who can convey emotions perfectly, she is already a legend

I love the low notes. She is really good.
Even if she's got a vocal range of only two octaves an four tones, and even if she isn't like Whitney Houston or other BIG singers, she actually is (and she will probably be for a long time) one of the best singers we all could ever know for her vocal features. A lot of artists have got a larger range, but they can't control it, because of tension, bad agility ecc... but Adele can reach perfectlya lot of hard notes to sing. She is a really good singer.

Her vocals aren't the best in the industry and her ability to emote and unique tone isn't new, they're many artists who can emote as well and have unique tones? Mariah Carey doesn't have as many Grammy's as Adele but Herr voice and impact is far superior, so what is your point? I wasn't even being shady but what has she done to warrant that title? Artist regarded as legends have clearly impacted the music of their time or future generations in some way or form and I honestly can't think of what's she's done. I'm not a dumb shit for critically asking a genuine question on how a white female artist who sells a lot and sings great ballad songs can be regarded as a music legend. Isn't that dropping the bar a little bit low cause in that case, a lot of the artists out now are legends by your logic. Objectively, looking at longevity, consistency, excellence in their area/craft, distinction, originality, impact on music or culture, level of talent and skill those things are things I look at. So that's why I raised the honest question and it seems you couldn't give a substantial answer without resorting to vulgar language. Oh well.
Adele's songwriting and relatablility, as well as her soulful voice and ability to emote are what have made her as big as she is today. When 21 made it massive, she really stood out amongst the popular music that was present everywhere (Dance/Pop music was very dominent in 2011). You could say she helped pave the way for ballads to once again be played regularly on Radio. Not to mention Adele has had a huge influence on young singers wanting to make it and have seen many of her songs covered on talent shows, youtube etc. 25 was essentially a make or break point for Adele, as history has shown many artists who have the 1 big album end up being unable to replicate its success (Alanis Morisette/Norah Jones for Instance). Adele completely smashed through that with monumental and record-breaking sales. What's even more astounding is how huge her sales have been given the album market had been in decline for many years and was well below its peak from the late 90s/early 2000s.
You have to remember that Mariah was in the same position as Adele during her career. Very successful, but her impact yet to be truely felt. It wasn't until the 2000s that you would have many singers cite Mariah as an influence and Mariah didn't cement her legacy until The Imancipation of Mimi imo.
Adele is still in early days (she's just over 9 years into her career), but she certainly seems to be on her way to becoming a Legend in music.

I can definitely seen her as a legendary seller, that's undeniable but I struggle to see her as being legendary her artistry. As a woman whose strictly a singer, she skill level so not on the standard than we hail music heavyweights like Whitney or Mariah for example. Those women being strictly singer. All I'm saying is Adele is definitely legendary when it comes to sales but when it comes to her craft of singing, I don't think she's impacted the industry enough and her skill level hasn't reached a level where we can hail her as a legendary artist. She may well improve and prove me wrong but as of now that's where I stand with her. (Not that it actually matters what I think. Sorry about the long rant. )

Great voice. Love her tone and soulful delivery. Only gripe is that she makes mid-belts seem like the hardest thing in the world. I know Eb is starting to approach upper-belt territory, but sometimes it seems like it's going to knock her out. =/ "Rolling in the Deep" in the original key was a pleasant surprise. I didn't know she had ever done it aside from when she did the carpool karaoke thing.

Admittedly, Adele's technique and vocal range aren't the best, but who cares about that? ... We know there are millions of acrobatic singers with incredible ranges and vocal techniques, the talent shows are full of them and the most are never successful for the same reason, there are too many, because it is something that does not require much talent, it is enough with training and literally anyone with a voice can get it. That's why the public is no longer interested in that ... they are tired of seeing these "artists" everywhere, bragging about how wide their range is or how many riffs they can do with their voice, what people need is excitement And that's what Adele knows how to deliver like no one else. People who criticize her vocal technique are only looking for a reason to take it down because they are jealous of her success.

They are just jealous. Adele's tone is extremely special, she isn't a virtuoso vocally wise, that's for sure. But to say that she's a bad singer is just plain stupid. Oh, and she isn't "one of the biggest stars today", she's the biggest, period.
+Jon Adele has great tone and good range which is why her fans love her voice but people believe that technically her voice isn't as phenomenal as the media plays out. She's still a great singer but there are many superior technical vocalists in the music industry who because they don't have unique tones are underrated vocally. That's all their saying. The impression given through the media is that she's the "voice of our generation" but in comparison to others technically she's just good. But her tone is her adavantage over most singers. So she definitely deserves success.
Often artists are judged in a technical way and often the judges are proved wrong. Adele has shown this to be the case, how else do you explain her fantastic success? even in countries that don't have English as their first language put Adele on the highest pedestal.

Alto is a choir part, sung by contraltos and mezzos ( usually mezzos with lower "comfort zone"), when it comes to the fach system (the operatic one) it doesn't matter cuz she's not an operatically trained singer, but if she was, I'd classify her as a lyric mezzo-soprano. Her voice is lower than sopranos, but it sounds very warm
