Kawasaki Ninja 250 how to double, 2 upping on motorcycle.
The Ninja 250 is a pretty good bike for doubling.

Doubling on motorcycle, Ninja 250:
-Get the ladies some gear for riding the Motorcycle
-Move your weight forward on the motorcycle.
-Grab the drivers waist while motorcycle.
-Don't adjust your weight until the driver knows so you don't crash the motorcycle.
-Lean into every corner with the motorbike.
-Use the gas tank on the motorbike to stop yourself from falling off of the motorcycle.
-Don't go nuts on the bike, if the bike crashes you kill 2 people and not just yourself.
-Try to have some fun.

lol my date and i went on the highway and it was my first time ever being on a bike let alone with him. and these tips helped out so much! thank you! he even complimented on how a good rider i was lol. my tip is if you get nervous try to enjoy the ride! look at the scenery :)

Horace Sawyer eh depends on the bike really... i mean my dad picked me up on his harley (i was like 14 at the time) it wasnt bad but yet you also gotta think.. you dont wanna double up with an un experience male adult.. getting with one that may just need a ride to the shop to get a part or something probably woouldnt be too bad cause he knows whats going on for the most part...

I always say start on what you’re comfortable! I started on a Cbr600rr which I still have. Now if you’ve rode dirt bikes before I’d say start on a 600
Nice video man.. when I take a passenger, I always find I pay a lot more attention to how smooth I shift and apply throttle.. but when I'm alone I don't care about being smooth, just shift and twist hard.. :)

as a person whose learning to double up how is the balance (weight wise) at stop signs or red lights?
you can hear the poor bike struggling to accelerate with that extra weight.

when teaching my girlfriend to ride with me i told her to pretend she is attached to my back. Whatever angle I lean at she needs to lean with me.

@Nintariz it’s not about speed it’s about power. You don’t NEED to go 100mph but you might NEED to over take a semi fast and can’t do that on a 250 loo

one of my bikes is a 250, but mine is from 1988, a bit older. Not a sport bike, its a cruiser. I saw you say, dont take it on a long trip, i agree, small engines dont do well on long trips, they can even blow the engine from the stress it takes going so far. Trying to keep up in traffic with such a small engines is hard on them. And trying to carry gear you need to survive puts more weight on them. I would not even take a trip on anything smaller then a 650. Not saying they wont make it, just saying i dont want to take the chance of destroying my bike.
You shift smoothly, nice job.
I've found that high revs sometimes may scare passengers. I know it can't really be helped with a Ninja 250 since it's very low power for two people but I would probably give that some consideration for a first time passenger.
at this point we corner harder when riding double than I can riding single. The added weight helps cornering traction.
I like the backflip mount the best.

Yes the bike is supposed to be picked up yet slightly leaned to the left side, if you can't support the weight at that position then simply don't double up. Most double up accidents happen because A- they can't really handle the weight correctly, or B- trying to show off instead of keeping safety #1. Never be the rider who thinks more of being cool than safe.

Had an 01 250 rode with a girl around 110-115lbs it did its thing. Lookn at the new 650. I think its all relative... my girl wants a harley, I'll probably get my kaw first. Lol weeeeeee weeeee!! Gotta get a yosh or arrow exhaust though.

How do you shift more smooth with a passenger on a 250. When i have a passenger. she jerks when i shift gears
So I'm 5'5 and when riding with someone else my height (or even taller) I noticed our helmets hit each others when I shift and if I remember correctly slow down too. How can we avoid this?
Keep your heads stiff. Not that hard. My gf used to do it til i slammed on the brakes every time she did it...now she doesnt lol

How tall is the driver? 6'4"? No effort at all to get on the bike. As a shorter person (5'9")with a bad back, the back end of these bike tend to swoop upwards, creating a challenge. Any suggestions?

rafael wang it's a tank protector. More for sport bikes than any other type of bike due to the rider's position (leaning over the tank)

people saying 250's are slow ought to try them on winding mountain roads. I recently smoked a new Boss 302 mustang on Ca Hwy 20 west with my wife on the back of my 250.
The mustang driver looked super pissed off when I passed him. He tried to keep up but had no chance in hell.
My girl trusts my riding and I take every curve at absolute maximum speed at all times.

This doesn't help with my husband's beast GSXR1000RR. It's so damn high that he has to stand on tiptoes to stabilize it. He's not tall but he's not short either. He's at least 5'9". I'm curious how you would mount in that case to prevent him from losing stability or hurting his back or legs holding it. Especially since I'm 202lbs
For starters probably losing weight and getting your husband to grow 5 more inches
You can lose 50 pounds and he should get a bike that’s smaller.
everyone's gotta different way to start but I'd never start on a 250 it's like riding a scooter plus you get bored way to fast I started on my 600 and that's what I'd recommend but use your head don't get on it balls to the wall first time out.
+Jeremiah Fisher Starting on a 300 is honestly a really good idea. They're very forgiving. If you ride one for a season or two, you learn very well what to do when things get weird. For instance, with a 600, if you accidentally double downshift and dump the clutch, you and the bike will shortly separate. If you do that on a 300, it's like no big deal. You might slide the rear tire a little, but ultimately you'll be fine. Many of the options available for 300's are also hilariously light. The CBR300 weighs *350 pounds*. With basic mods, you can get that down to 325.
Yeah they're slow and yeah you'll sell it in a year, but you learn with much less fear and much less danger how to be a skilled rider. Then when you do buy a 600 or a literbike, you're capable of using everything you have.
But, again, everyone's different. You do you. Just my input.
+Cesotoseot 100% agree. I own a CBR300 and when i think about it, if i had a cbr600r instead, i would be dead or seriously injured after like 2 months. I ride 9 months now and i feel that i learn everyday from mistakes. On a 600 i would have die from mistakes, that's the difference i guess

Lol a 250 can handle that easily, here in El Salvador we used 125CC and er move 2 people with no problem lol, i had a small hero dawn 125 and went almost 70KPM with somebody in my back seat that was funny lol

The old ninja 250r (1988-2007) is faster than the 2008 to 2012. Because kawasaki focused on top end on the 88 version but tried to focus on torque on the 08 by getting rid of the dual exhaust and making it 2 to 1. But then again why the heck would they try on giving a 250cc torque?! XD
