    I had a neighbor who was in a situation like this like fourty years ago but instead of doing the legal thing he murdered the ex-friend and disposed of their corpse before moving back in himself. He almost got away with it but he got caught a year or two ago after someone found the body and police found something on it that led back to the old house which led back to him. Was insane to find out, his niece was moving things out of his house and told me just a bit.

I was renting a room and they legit threw me out while I was at work, vame back home and they wouldn't let me on to get my stuff out until a few days later. Then I lived with a neighbor who raised the rent and gave me less than 2 weeks notice. I mentioned the monthly agreement and it said 30 days, he literally said "oh you're going to bring that up!? That was just something I threw together!" Literally had both of our signatures on it. Word to the wise, don't rent from an individual.

    My sister keeps telling to get a roommate for my extra bedroom. I tell her I need the money but not the headache.
    If I get a roommate to share the costs, after 30 days he/she becomes,a tenant and the problems begin. Can't kick him/her out unless I go to court, even if they stop paying the share of costs. The court will grant extensions and by the time they do get evicted, (six months to a year or more) I would find myself broke.

    Also do a full background check! I rented a room to the sweetest little old lady with the cutest British accent. She was completely insane! Her accent was fake, she started leaving me notes letting me know her and my husband were in love and they wanted me to change rooms with her. She would stand outside our room at night with her ear on the door. My husband was terrified of her. The other roommates and I would hide in the bathroom from her. She'd be outside the door talking to herself in different voices about how she planned on killing me. The cops said I had to give her 30 days notice of eviction. She convinced the homes owner that we were abusing HER! It was a nightmare. When I finally went to the court house and did a background check it turned out she had been sued for trying to kill the 90 year old man she had been living with. Always do a full check!! I was young and she seemed so kind.

    You don't even have to agree to sublet to someone. If you allow someone into your home, for a sufficient period for them to establish residency (a month or more) then they are your tenant and if they don't agree to leave at your request, you would have to go through the eviction process. So, if one of your friends is homeless and you allow them to stay at your property, be very careful. One way to get a reluctant unwanted guest to leave is to offer "cash for keys" - offer them an amount of cash to get then to hand over their keys and leave. That would be much quicker than an eviction and might even be cheaper than paying court filing fees etc.

    I have to add I was threatened and potentially conned. It turned into a very violent situation. I’ll always wonder if it was a plot against me. Is this the same for phone lines, insurance plans, etc.? Like if you’re paying for your insurance through someone else’s plan can they cancel it without notice to you?

    There's a reason landlords often make subletting against tenancy agreements.

    • @specialstone9153
      @specialstone9153 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some subletting mistreat the person (s) renting under them and it is taking advantage of them and abuse. However, if the person renting from the tenant decides to tell (complain) to the Owner/Landlord, then both can get kicked out. Especially if subletting was not allowed on the lease and done without the Owner/Landlord knowing about it.

    3 days folks, after that they become a tenant and it will cost you money to take them to court if they refuse to leave. Mind blowing as it is, this happened to me.

    Until you find out that your new sublet landlord illegally sublet the property and then you do still have to get the hell out
