As a quilter, I don’t think you should feel bad about potentially turning a quilt into something else. Quilts should be used, and sometimes that’s their best use! We won’t loose that era of quilting - there are archives and museums that specialize in that kind of thing. And even commercial quilts were sewn by someone (even in a factory). Just my 2 cents! 😁
There are also several patterns that are super duper common in quilting, so if it's a pretty basic bunch of squares or triangles stuck together with colors and patterns you like, just use it! Part of the original point of quilts is "use every scrap of fabric we have" so making a quilt into something else is really just being faithful to the base intent of quilts anyway.
@@ShaySaysSo Someone donated it, so forfeited their "rights" or whatever you want to call it. It's yours now so you can do what ever you want with it. Some people buy clothes and blankets just for the fabric and make quilts and other things
@@sarahkinsey5434 I know, but if we all modify vintage clothes future generations will not get to see them as they really were. I get really excited when I find something really old that hasn't been modified / repurposed overtime, but of course it's only clothes and there's plenty
The brass candle holder looks like a lotus flower to me. My favorite color is green also. It blows me away of how much your style & preferences are like mine. You, young lady, are quite the artist
Omg! 🤩 When you held up the green leaf table cloth! I have been thrifting this same table cloth for a year, I have it in that green, a pumpkin orange, aspen leaf yellow, and a cream- long story short those table cloths WILL become a magic autumn fairy 🧚♀️ Love how much high quality fabric table cloths give 💯 Can't wait to see all these cool finds transformed. ✨️
I also have the brass candleholder for three candles. I thought the middle looked like a water lily, before I found out it was for flower arrangements.
I love your videos!!! Whimsigoth is my favorite aesthetic to look for because it encompasses my love of bohemian, cottagecore, romantic gothic, vintage, and medieval/ fantasy themed. I’m really happy that you do a variety of content. I enjoy crafting videos from time to time but love styling/creative thrift hauls/ putting together lookbooks or inspired outfits more. I used to love to watch Rachel Maksy but the past year I’ve watched less and less because most of her content is becoming less “let’s dress up and style some clothes!” to more “let’s make something!” Which is all fine and awesome but not my number one interest. So I’m really happy that you do a mix! I love seeing what people find in thrift hauls ☺️
I learn so much from watching your videos. I'm 66 and I have been a reseller for many years. Lately, I have been thrifting dark academia decor. Do you have a video about dark academia? The brass candlestick holder originally had a floral frog in the middle. But that's an easy replacement.
Absolutely make a quilted jacket. I've got 2 and they're so warm. I was thinking of making a coat too. Love the green candlestick holder💚it would look awesome with your brass flower bowl and candle holder😍
Haha and I’ve known so many like that. I feel like there’s a distinctive through line. The emo teen to whimsigoth adult pipeline is so real lol. There was probably a cottagecore phase in the middle of that and the whimsigoth is just a balance between them 😂
I really like the shopping, styling and thrift hauls. Crafts are great too Im hopping for a candle making craft. Im new to your channel. Do you like books? Would like book shopping and hauls plus can style vintage books as decor too.
Dang Scotty... buying curtains and table cloths that definitely would make a beautiful dress or skirt. Looks like you're gonna need to learn how to sew soon!

May I suggest our antique co-op or consignment stores. In Sutter Creek we have Creekside Shops with 20 dealer spaces and Blondies consignment store very good for hats and steam punk style items.
Another great haul! Love the candlestick bowl, I can imagine filling it with crystals or dried flowers 😍 I also picked up The Secret Garden at my Goodwill the other day, but mine was paperback and somehow more expensive LOL!
Oh wow really? Was it categorized in the kid’s section? I noticed at this store the kids books were mostly 1.99 and under but that could be unique to the store. I’ve noticed each goodwill prices differently depending on the management
I have that exact candlestick bowl but in a silvery color! I picked it up for a Halloween decoration and then kept it. Thank you for the crystals and flowers ideas!
I love the haul videos I litteraly subscribed bc of this (I'm still interested in the other content you make) so please please keep making thrift/antique hauls 🙏🏻💖
First of all I would love to have a jacket made out of a quilt like that it would be so pretty you look adorable in it..... In that fairy is so cool don't you love friends like that but just know you.... I also loved all the different fabrics in I'm getting them from sheets and curtains I do enjoy sewing by hand but I got to get my sewing machine fixed it's much neater than my stitches thank you for sharing everything but green candlestick is awesome.....
OMG those candle holders!!! I would have bought them too. Great finds. We have one thrift store here with bins but its just clothes and shoes :( Clothes are nice but I need shiny things for the house! lol Thanks for sharing with us and if I wasn't going to be at work I would join the sale.
I worked at a similar to goodwill store and damn, we let people sift through racks and bins as much as they wanted. Less for us to put away. Id be interested if you have any scrapbook paper decor or craft ideas. I buy the pretty paper but I'd I what to do with it.

Alas, southern California is insane with inflation and the cost of living and they tend to price things as if everyone can afford to actually own a house in the Valley. (They can't. It's insane.) And oh, goodness, thrifting goddess, please bless me with your gift of prowess when next I venture forth!

Help!! What state are you in that you can thrift so affordably?? I am in the LA crowd and I am not kidding when I say I will take a trip to wherever you are to do some actual thrifting
Northern CA (Sacramento) - Usually smaller towns/cities have better thrifting because it’s less picked over and not marked up to ridiculous prices. I’d suggest try thrifting away from LA or OC and try the smaller towns. You don’t even need to drive all the way up to where I am (I’ve done that drive it’s a long one) but if you just venture out away from the “hip” areas you’ll find better thrifting. Definitely try the local charity shops too over the thrift store chains.
I'm VERY upset! I thought you just hadn't uploaded for a while. TH-cam had taken you out of my algorithm and I didn't know til now. I wonder if thats why your videos are doing such weird jumps with what videos are getting views. But its not bad that way you get all kinds of viewers who have different interests, but I'm mad they took you OUT of the ones they show me! Anyway, thank you for this video and now I have a lot to binge watch. Have a fanti-fairi-ful day!
Ugh. The made up word "whimsigoth" is so cringey. All these made up "sub genres" need to end. Why does everyone need one of these words to wear something? How about you just wear it because you like it? Not just because it's "whimsigoth"
Makes it easier to look up when you’re looking for inspiration 🤷♀️ a lot of people appreciated having a word to describe the style they already had. Not everyone is wearing it just because it’s “whimsigoth” That’s how language works and has evolved over centuries. When we don’t have a word to describe something specific (instead of having to use numerous words to express a specific idea) we come up with a new one (sometimes a combination of words to express an idea) to describe it. All words are made up in the end, otherwise we’d still be grunting in caves. I personally think saying whimsigoth is so much easier than saying “a style that’s kinda dark bohemian whimsical but also kinda grunge goth with a crystal witchy fairy feel to it with jewel tones and mixed texture” - rolled off the tongue better. And I think there is nothing wrong with inventing new terms for super specific things to help with the ease of expressing an idea.
@@Stoicwindseternal Haha new aesthetic unlocked: cavemancore, coming to a Pinterest board near you 😂 if that becomes a real style I will completely lose it 😂

I also love whimsigoth because it blends my Goth and Fae sides! I wish postage to Australia wasn't so unreasonable so I could shop your wotnot shows!
