What you'll like about the Figo:
• Robust build and construction
• Interiors more comfortable than chief competitors i10 & Swift
• 1.4 Diesel's proven driveability and fuel efficiency. No turbo lag
• The Ford Figo's mature big-car-like ride quality
• Ford's DNA in the on-road behavior and quick steering
• Class-topping 284-liter boot space
What you won't:
• Lacks the modernity of recently launched hatchbacks
• Both of the engines in Figo are lacking in outright performance. Neither engine can exploit the car's dynamics
• No true top-end variant (tilt adjustable steering, rear power windows, MID etc.)
• Average backseat legroom. Not in the league of, say, an Indica Vista
• Ford's sub-par dealership experience

Ford car are always fun to drive. I was waiting for Focus or Fiesta and meanwhile Ford planned to left India.
Currently owned Figo Aspire 1.5 TDCI and it was amazing to drive.
Ford Figo Gen 1 was a gem of a car. Not a drag racer, bht definitely a corner carver.
I drove one from zoomcar in a bad condition and i was throwing it around at corners with high RPMs and man it was touching the strings in my heart.
It felt just like a polo but with better feedback from the steering and better contact to the tidf
But:
1. The 1.4 TDCIs also used the continental injectors. They were prone to fail as everyone knows.
2. High service cost of Ford initially. No denying that. In the era where social media presence was minimum, people knew about this means this was actually a great issue.
But as someone who knows a bit about cars, this car if found in great condition can still be a great steal.
2010-2012 1.4tdci engine has injector problem after that ford has used different injectors and issue is solved
Ford Figo is one the safest car that was introduced in India when Indians didn’t cared about safety

I have a 2013 Ford Figo diesel (bought new) and 2022 1L AT Skoda Slavia! While Slavia is powerful, refined and great, but I still can't get over the fun of driving a manual diesel over corners with zero body roll and excellent steering feedback which is so hard to replace. Will keep Figo till the longest I can have! 😊
Figo underpowers 68 bhp
@@anshulchauhan5587 Agree it is 68 BHPs but it has a torque of 160 NM which was great for it's size and makes it fun to drive. The turbo at this torque never makes it feel underpowered!
in hilly areas my Figo was very difficult to move...

Even I purchased 2013 Figo Gen 1 for safety and for learning purpose. But the Diesel Engine has such good torque and power, I don’t think I’ll sell this gem so early.

@@anshulchauhan5587 and power isnt everything power to weight ratio matters most and hyundai diesel have a fixed turbo so even if they have power their power is useless till 100kmph

I too bought Figo mark 1 Titanium petrol facelifted model 2015 in 2021 which has done 78000 kms on company record and the previous owner had maintained his car so well that it literally felt we have brought a new car home.....and this car is such a joy ❤.....well said sunderdeep paaji cars like this are truly a legend.

I shift from polo to ecosport because at that time Vw had no SUV in market
My polo was 2011 model
What a beautiful sound this figo 1.4 tdci egine used to make, it makes me smile even today. 😃
I love the handling of this car even it is Slightly better than polo I would say.
Steering hardness is not a con for me it gives me massive amount of confidence while driving at high speed.
I love old gen FORD FIGO ❤❤❤.

I have 2015 Ford Fiesta Titanium. I have done more than 1,35,000 on it and it still gives peak Engine performance. The build is so solid and finish is so premium that there is still no cabin sound. I have full confidence that I can keep it for years to come. And looks… it is the BEST looking car I have seen.

I always thought of buying ecosport and almost decided to buy. But Ford left india which made me buy an alternative xuv300 w8 which was close to ecosport in driving pleasure. I still miss ecosport
We have a Ford ikon 2009 TDCI that has run 1.4 lakhs and we don’t really face any issues in terms of service. But we face issues with spare parts, it’s obvious as it’s more than 13 years old car. Believe me, the performance is still as new and mileage is 24 km/lt. Would have gone with another Ford but since they left have to switch to VW.
This Figo was one of the best hatchback cars ever available in the Indian market. Unfortunately Ford marketing was not upto the mark.
Golden period for small cars, even santro was not bad. Sadly all ended up.

Even i had figo petrol 2010, solid build quality, power,handling, sadly it was unreliable, many times multiple parts failed,, coolant leakage, door locks failures, steering oil leakage
1- we were standing near toll tax and crazy driver with 14 seater tourist bus hit us from behind, we get out of the car and there was only scratches in our car back while tourist bus got a slight dent.
But i still miss ford, i own a brezza now, but i don't feel the pleasure to drive like i used to drive figo.

i bought figo in 2014 and drove it till 2020 and covered fun 80000 kms in it.
had to sell it because of the rusting on all four doors
never faced any other issue
i sold it for 1.2 lakhs
i still miss my figo
