Boy that "M" sounds good ! Fired right up even though it was freezing cold !!! I had a 1946 "H" back in highschool and it lived outside most of the time I owned it until I was finally able to steal one bay of my grandmother's garage.... and that old tractor always fired up no matter how cold and wet or frozen it was.... probably by far the most reliable machine I ever owned !!! Good luck with everything ! Tom Del Casale Excavating

You're the first person on youtube to do their wood like me. I also cut and block in the woods and i haul my firewood home on a 14 ft homemade trailer behind my 1946 Farmall M. My M's a little shinier with 4 sets of wheel weights. I run Husky saws. Keep up the good work. Kent from PEI

My best youth years souvenirs with that tractor. My dad installed a wood box all along the side of the engine to put the chain saw. I would lie it hat box and put my back against the motor to keep warm while he cut wood. Also we never got stuck because of the double action hydrolics. I wish so bad he had kept it. Thanks for the video.

The sound of that M starting up takes me right back to my childhood on the farm. Glad to see the dead ash is at least being put to use for firewood.

We did the same thing, except our Farmall was an A, and the wagon homemade.

Nice load of firewood. We just got back from loading the F350 level with the cab with pine.

Rather have that old tractor than a brand new Mercedes and day.

we have loads of ash (and hickory) in my area, most of them are dead or dying. The perk of having all this dead ash is its easy to find trees to cut for firewood. (The hickory isn't dying tho)

Sure wish I could get my M going (1946, mines got the single wheel front) but just don't have the money. Nice to see one running and being used. That trailer load of wood wasn't even a strain on that M.

great job. How many kg does the load weigh ?

I couldn’t even guess the weight. It would be interesting to take it over a scale

It sure looks like you're using a repurposed manure spreader as a trailer. I wonder which weighs more, a load of manure or that load of lumber.

Manure is heavier. Ash is a very light but strong wood, awesome firewood.

For where you're working { fairly level Frozen ground , and keeping it confined mostly to where they've been yarded } , I imagine you can do pretty good with a tricycle -gear front end ..... I wouldn't go up in where they're cutting though , to gather up a twitch , let alone venture up a skid-road

@@SectionElevenOutdoors the way it should be. Just because we cut trees doesn't mean we shouldn't respect them. All these people showing off their fancy splitters turning good sized trees into toothpicks, damn shame, how do they sleep at night? I mean that litterally, how do they sleep at night, having to feed the fire place every couple of hours?

Nicely done. People underestimate a smaller saw - better if it were a husky :) We're starting out our channel so please check it out if you're into firewood!
