@diabolical b.n.p You ever play a 3D platformer with a keyboard? Because I had the pc version of the game and keyboard make it so much harder than it has to be
Holy cow, just too much to comment on here. Had to watch a couple of levels like three times just to really soak in how glorious the strats were. Favorite level was Avalanche Alley for obvious reasons. Well done mate, time well spent if you ask me!
Your celebration dance after you beat Clyde had me on the floor laughing. Was that a rev roll at every possible frame? 18:32 Amazing work here man. Really impressive.
To see one of my favorite games torn apart so easily, even with tool assistance, is both incredibly shameful since I had so much trouble in various parts of the game, and incredibly satisfying to see that its theoretically possible to beat the game in 40 minutes. Edit: Also, 23:45
The movement precision- I mean, perfection in this is stunning to me. Also, those two Volcano levels where you just fall into the void were crazy. Good job.
Who the hell thought Yellow Pac-Marine (23:45) was a good idea? Just under 8 minutes of the same shit (literally looks like it's copied and pasted over and over). And then they made a boss based on it too. Thank god that was over in under a minute. Rant over, was an awesome TAS to watch and entertaining too! Great job! Loved Avalanche Alley btw, those boosts were sweet, especially the last one to the goal.
Dang I tried speed running this game and I got to around 1 hour and 30 minutes and thought that was really good. Then I searched a speedrun and ran into this video and I've been put to shame🤣 super awesome video!
ツ ツ I have this game and was going to play it, but it didn't seem right. After watching this video I see why. It's not fun. I'll stick with the first game and sell this one.
I just had to come back to my childhood game I used to play with my father everyday 😂 wow it is insane how you can maximize the maps with the times that’s been set, very impressive man
Great game from my childhood. Gone through it a dozen times, but never like this. And I thought I used to cringe when I'd make the jumps the way the game intended you to. Speedrunners have a skill I could never hope to achieve. Awesome run!
Its a speedrunning strategy used to kill blinky fast. He has a hitbox on his side which you can rev roll into. Once they hit him they hit pause, and wait for blinky to stop shaking then unpause. Im not sure about why they switch to rumble feature though.
I remember playing this game when I was a kid. I had the Xbox version. One day during a move from one house to another, I lost the game. And then in 2019, one of my grandmother's friends' sons was giving away a game disc holder full of games that he didn't play anymore. And for the Playstation, this game was in there. I went home and pulled out my PS2, a Dualshock controller, a nice comfy chair, and a bottle of Dr. Pepper. I began messing with the RCA cables trying to get the screen to show the idle PS2 menu screen. After 15 minutes, the TV finally showed the menu screen and I backed away slowly, so as to not disturb the fragile connection I had finally achieved. I put the game in my PS2, praying that it still worked. I sat there, staring at my own reflection in the black screen, listening to the console making noises, reading the disc. I could hear the TV making a faint buzzing noise because one of the RCA cables was ever so slightly out of place, but I didn't want to try jiggling it and fighting with it for another 15 minutes trying to get the video to go through. And then I heard it. And by "it" I mean nothing. The console stopped trying to read the disc. It sat there in silence, and the screen was still pitch black. A wave of defeat washed over me, and I lowered my head into my lap. I dropped the controller, and sat there. If I'm being honest, I was a grown man, sitting in front of a TV, head in his lap, fighting back tears because a video game wasn't working. With my head buried in my lap, I sat there in silence. Until I heard the Namco startup sound. Before the second note played, I shot my head up so fast that my peripherals faded to dark colors, and I felt lightheaded. I thought I was hearing things at first. But I saw the Namco logo right there on the screen. I wiped my eyes, and picked the controller back up. I then put it back down in my lap as I watched the opening cinematic. I created a new save file, and for the next two hours, nostalgia hit me over and over like a boxer using a speed bag. I had never been so happy to play a video game
the wood levels were so hard! they're a maze, i ended up just kept on going back to the same place over and over again in treewood forest. but the music for butane pain was great.
Damn, I audibly gasped right there 10:30 This game was so fun, I beat it when I was a kid over the course of a year and beat it in a full sitting as a teen. I wonder how fast I could best it now
i remember i used to play this game when i was 9 or 10. i couldn't get past the red ghost, which for some reason was named clyde but it's actually blinky.
It's a TAS speedrun, meaning a computer was inputting all the movements and button presses. There are speedruns of this game with real people playing the game, those are also really interesting to watch.
Mayor: "Pac-Man! Pac-land has been overrun with Spooky's evil ghosts! You must stop him and rid this entire island of ghosts!"
Pac-Man:"Yeah, whatever. Gimme 45 minutes; nah, make that an hour. I'm gonna grab lunch on the way."
Llk
Pac-man:"I'm gotta go in Mc.Donalds...Make it hour and half."
XD
Professor pac might have given pac man Cocaine and adderall off screen.
Actually he killed almost 1/100 of the ghosts on his path, soooo😌😌
I’m pretty sure Professor Pac isn’t the mayor, he’s Pac-Man’s father in law and former defender of Pac-Land before he passed the torch down to Pac.
Most underrated video game of all time
YES
No lmao
No

I agree. At least it gets a lot of love from the people who played it.
literally almost a whole quarter of this run was that third water level omg
Half of this game is Pac-Man imitating Sonic really well *including the terrible water levels in his game*
@@Aflay1 I always liked the non-submarine parts a lot more. Especially without the mini sub enemies...
@@Aflay1 some sonic water levels were amazing like water palace in sonic rush and aquarium park in sonic colors
There's very little you can do to speed up that level
There are some levels in this game that took me longer to complete than this whole speed run.....
Clyde boss?
@Snowy The Folf
I'd say the entirety of the volcano levels. Those were insanely unforgiving when it came to mistakes...

This game was actually legitimately entertaining

TheWinslinator
Avalanche alley? I saw no avalanche all 2 minutes of the level. I think the appropriate name for the level would be a simple "alley"
9:41 and 10:30 are two of my favorite parts from that level
my favorite was butane pain, b-doing woods, blade mountain, and i think volcanic panic.
once i looked at 8:49 and10:01, i understood what you meant.
They should remaster this game
They most likely will now
Your celebration dance after you beat Clyde had me on the floor laughing. Was that a rev roll at every possible frame? 18:32 Amazing work here man. Really impressive.
Nathan Donnelly In the game they call him Clyde when in the real pacman they call him Blinky?!
I heard that they switched the names because clyde is the "cool" name and red is the "cool" color, to make it more appealing
@@Famadiojohn that had me confused all my childhood. my thoughts during childhood: "was it clyde that was the red ghost or was it blinky?"

Bro, if it was more fun and in like 3 minutes complete I’d be fine.
its a good level, just not for speed running
18:31 WTF why is Pac-Man glitching out
SuperSonicrx18 GD thats what happens when you rev roll to many times

that was a sweet wind boost at 10:30
39:50 all of them weren’t even halfway threw eating dinner and he had already saved them all
This run is actually sick, hope this game gets further optimized in some ways

As a kid this is the only game my mom would play with me... Make another pac man world game please for my mom :'(((((
im pretty sure a third one was released a few years ago
I didn't find Pac-Man World 3 to be enjoyable like the first two. Never bothered to even finish it.
same here honestly. i had the DS version and i probably played about 10 minutes of it before never touching it again

It's the only sound made throughout most of the video.
with the occasional "waka" and "oowoop"

Avalanche Alley was freaking dank.
Super impressive! Enjoy watching all your cool/funny ideas and brings back lots of memories!
40:57 What his SMASH Victory Theme was Inspired From? Possibly?
This Game Didn't Sell in Japan?
*Not On GameCube I see…*
Also when Did Sakurai say This?
his smash victory theme was inspired by the sound it makes when you start a game in pac man. which is also the sound it makes there

This is a tool assisted speedrun (TAS). Meaning he uses save states (illegally saving at various points mid-level) in order to create an optimal run.
I sense Terminal Montage activity here...
Masterpiece.
