Dear Jennifer, the Boden dress is so fabulous on you..I think bold colors and prints in the right combination bring your brilliance out.. yeah to more colors..lots of love
I love the Bowden dress! And the sea foam dress. Your capsule wardrobe is an inspiration to me. I declared summer 2020 as “The Summer of Dresses”. I took your concepts and ran with it! I have 6 and I find it so easy. I find that 6 is enough to mix them up and not feel like I’m wearing the same thing everyday. I’ve been exclusively wearing dresses, except for when walking my daily 4-5 miles. I have been losing weight, and dresses are easy my shape is changing. Most important I feel feminine and I’m careful about my makeup, jewelry and shoes when I put a dress on. I don’t feel so sloppy and I want to look good.
Enjoyed video today. I started using your 10-item capsule in 2014 and love it. Always look presentable, have more outfits because 10 items are well thought out. Started working with husband on a capsule wardrobe this past winter-- slow progress.
Don’t mind me, just binge watching during nap. Very inspired by your homemaking girl boss-ness! 🙌🏾 Totally subbed and considering this 10 item capsule. Thank you! 💕
That dress looks great on u! I've been following your 10 item wardrobe for maybe 2 years now and last week I wore a navy flowered maxi dress to a doctor's appt. I had an older gentlemen stop me in the hallway and said "it's nice to see that some people still dress up". The comment made my whole day.
Dear Jennifer, I so appreciate the beautiful GRACE that you extend to your TH-cam friends! I really love a lot of the things that you promote on your channel, but the best part is that you never use it to make others feel badly about themselves, but rather, you encourage us to think about different ways of doing things. I so appreciate your kindness and sincerity when you talk about the ART of homemaking. My husband and his family are from Eastern Europe and when I met them I was so worried that I'd never be able to be a good wife because his Mother and Sister have a way of entertaining that I really hadn't seen before. It reminded me of the way that my Mother talked about living when she was very young. Thankfully, my Sister-in-law and Mother-in-law have not lost their European traditions in the 20 years since they came to the United States and before I married, they came over and showed me how to make Ukrainian cabbage rolls, Ukrainian green peppers and a few other dishes. Believe it or not my husband likes my versions just as well as theirs and he often tells me that he's so glad that I am willing to learn how to make the food ate in the old country. I like the way that you share how you live sort of counter-culturally in many ways, but I have never heard you say that you expect those who follow you to live as you do. I so appreciate that you have respect for those who are at least trying to think more about how to incorporate more beauty and culture into our lives! I t I grew up in a very conservative Christian home and your lifestyle is very similar to what mine was growing up. I've been re-discovering some of the things about which I've probably become too relaxed and one of those things is my wardrobe. I so enjoy your ten-item wardrobe videos and I hope that one day I'll be able to dress as well as I once did--back in the 1980s when it was just normal. You have inspired me to take more pride in my personal appearance. My extreme weight gain is the biggest reason for my having sort of given up on my personal appearance, but I now realize that I cannot continue this pattern and I need to dress better. Our culture tells us that we all have to be super thin and have super-toned bodies to be worthy and I guess I had fallen into the trap of thinking that no one cares what a 52-year-old woman looks like. However, I've begun to think differently about my appearance. I had allowed myself to believe that because I am plus size now, I don't matter and cannot find anything that will look good on my frame. I've learned that I still need to get up and show up and look presentable even if I'm not happy with my body. Someone recently told me that," you have to dress the body that you have, while you're working on the body that you want." I've begun to feel so much better about myself even though I have gained 50 pounds over the last twelve years. I've managed to lose about six pounds, which is only a fraction of what I need to lose. However, I have more hope now than I did before and I realize that the people who love me still want me to look nice and I want to look good too. I'm still not dressing the way I one had, but I'm a lot more polished and I've begun to sort of enjoy the daily process of skin care and choosing an outfit for work. I must admit that when I come home from work, I do like to get comfortable, but I've purchased three new pair of PJs and I think my husband really appreciates my effort. I work about 50 hours per week, but at least I have stepped up my game a bit and I think I'll get a bit better here and there.
Jennifer you look so alive and stunning in the Boden dress. The colors really compliment you. Love your longer hair and your makeup is beautiful. You look amazing in everything ❤️. I am so addicted to your channel. I sit down with a cup of tea and watch a few at a time. It’s my down time 🥰
Liked your 2 dresses. I am looking for cool dresses for summer also. It has been in the high 90's with high humidity here in the great lakes area.....Enjoyed.
Beautiful adjustments you made to your wardrobe based on our warm weather here in Southern California. I remember that pretty Boden dress and your Mer-Sea wrap looks beautiful with its colors, along with the Lands End encore making another appearance. I have the original Draper James denim dress with the front ruffle, which works for me since I am short, so the length has always been fine. I do find I'm wearing it less and recently brought out a navy and white polkadot L. L. Bean Dress, similar to your Boden dress, because it's lightweight and flowy and feels feminine when I wear it. Now, about those sleeves on that white dress. I'm probably in the smaller camp that says please them original, but if they are too warm for you or bother you, I know you'll make the right alteration for you. I personally think the sleeves look so Victorian that way and add a unique design quality to the dress. It always looks gorgeous on you, Jennifer.
I really like the blue and green fitted dress on you. It's very flattering on your figure. Well done fitting back into it after a couple babies! Oh! And I wanted to share a favorite short with you....Eddie Bauer's Women's Guide Pro shorts. Very light, breathable, pockets, and a good length.
I love both dresses you brought into your wardrobe; I remember the Boded from 2015. :) Your dresses are always so lovely. I wish I could wear them, but I just feel like I am outside and work/play in the yard too much for the dress to be practical. Each time I watch one of your videos I want to wear more dresses......Thank you for your lovely videos.
That Boden Dress is amazing on you Jennifer! I loved it before and I'm glad that you held on to it. The colors and cut are perfect for you. Yay! The Sea glass dress returns! I am wearing he Navy Dot version of that that dress today and my husband says it's one of his favorites. Thank you for the "shout out". 😉 I love to see how you make adjustments with the changing seasons and I can't wait to see what type of shorts you choose. Lots of love! 🤗💛Robin
Thank you, Robin! I feel like the Lands' End dress looks so nice on you because the length looks longer. For some reason it's shorter on me and I know you're taller than I am. It's a mystery! But it will be fun to see it through this summer. Love you!
So nice that you kept the Boden dress. Very pretty! I just got a dress from Lands End. It’s called “cap sleeve midi T shirt dress - stripe.” I thought , being 5’6”, the midi length in regular was a little long so I ordered it in petite and it falls right beneath my knees which I prefer. It’s on sale and only $17 versus $50. Very comfortable.
Linen is the best fabric for hot weather. You probably won’t need to cut the sleeves off. I like to be covered a bit in extreme heat. But just with linen. It’s also healthier for your skin.
A couple of years ago I spent practically the whole summer rotating between 2 Lands Ends dresses, they are so comfortable and flattering. Your new room is just 👌.
I love you honesty concerning changes. This is very helpful to gain understanding and new thoughts. Would you ever consider doing a video on how to dress cool when it is extremely hot and the fabrics that would be helpful and even style aspects? And is there a way to camouflage the wetness of perspiration? Somehow in Michigan, it seems we have been locked into over 90 degree days with little to no breeze. Not only has this been going on longer than usual, but it seems to be the forecast for many days ahead. I feel like a wet sponge and am very uncomfortable. Would you consider pulling out your best tips and tricks to help? Thank you either way.
I love the midnight blue and green dress on you!!! It’s beautiful! I’ve come to realize I really love loose, flowy dresses for summer that I can just slip over my head.
You look amazing in the floral blue and green dress along with the sea foam dress👗 bought your books and the class and perspectives resonate with me as it's so important to maintain a peaceful, elegant and joyful lifestyle, best regards 🥀Miss. Lilly🥀 also I love your bedroom changes, absolutely tasteful 🏰
I remember the 5 year old dress! I guess I've been watching your channel for a long time. While watching this video I was admiring the wall paper behind you. It's so elegant.
Oddly enough, this morning I searched for your video where you talked about tailoring the Boden dress. I found some very nice Boden dresses recently on Ebay and they fit beautifully. I was fairly certain that I learned about the brand from your channel which is why I searched for the video. And voilà! Here you are with a video discussing that Boden dress :-)
You look lovely in both of the dresses you have added to your wardrobe, Jennifer. This video was a tutorial to me! Thank you for teaching how to have and maintain a ten-item wardrobe. I think the white dress's bodice would look fine with different sleeves, and probably even sleeveless. It is your dress, and it would be nice for you to be perfectly comfortable wearing it no matter what any of us thinks! ;)
Funny how some years there are items in our wardrobes we wear and wear and the next year that same item is not worn as much -but then is a fav the following year! Love the Biden dress on you!
The Boden dress is gorgeous! I agree re: the white dress, I love the puffed sleeves! :) Re: the ten item wardrobe, even though I am a long time viewer, I have actually never implemented it myself. I keep a simple and pared down wardrobe and declutter several times a year. However, the thought of wearing a favorite piece so much so quickly that it is no longer presentable makes me feel sad. LOL! I have some items from over ten years ago and they still look really nice because I spread out there use so much....but I suppose to each there own! Regardless, I love your classy looks always! :) Thanks for a great video.
Delighted to see those two dresses return as they both look stunning on you. Love how you did the 'reveal' ! Your ten-item updates and reveals for each season are still my fave of your videos 🤗 Best wishes from Australia and stay safe xx
You look so pretty in the dress you have on, the colors just make you “spark”. I absolutely love that white dress. I looked and looked for that on line but no luck. The sleeves just make it! Have a great day.
I loved the print of your jumpsuit so much, I wish they had it in a dress! I think the two items you brought back look so lovely on you. The way the sleeves look on the 1st are perfect too, I would do something similar to the white dress, it may balance it out more and give it that timeless look. I find myself looking for dresses with that style sleeve which can be worn anywhere and layered easily. I always love your updates Jennifer 🌹
I agree the white dress would look lovely with those same style sleeves and make it easier to wear both summer and spring :) Regarding those white shorts what would Madame Chic say about them!!!! Just reading your books hehe! X
Jennifer I was so excited to see you reveal that navy floral Boden dress, I always thought it was gorgeous! Thanks for sharing how you adapt your wordrobe when needed ❤
I love the Boden dress! Such a good feeling to get back into pre-pregnancy items that you love! My Lands End fit-and-flares have held up really well and they are perfect casual dresses for summer. So versatile. I have it in three colors: sea glass black, and purple paisley. 😆
Thanks to you I spent a wonderful hour clearing out my closet today, everything including nightwear, shoes and bags as well as clothing. I have stored most of it as I really like my items but some don't fit / suit the season at the moment. I will look forward to "shopping" these when the weather cools a bit, maybe October here in Ireland. I am feeling lighter and more positive about getting dressed each morning, thanks Jennifer! Niamh
The Boden dress looks beautiful on you, Jennifer! I've always admired that dress since I saw it in your 2015 capsule. I was delighted to see that Velvet by Graham and Spencer came out with an almost identical dress this Spring, and I was so excited to add it to my wardrobe. Have a wonderful day:)
I love both of the dresses you brought back! We had a very cool spring, so I'm just now really getting to wear summer clothing without a cardigan. Planning on culling those items that never seem to make it out of the closet, and adding more linen!
Yeay! One of my favorites of your past wardrobes! I combed the Internet for it years ago and found one on poshmark, sadly whoever owned had it gemmed into a mini dress length 😂 they were probably not a daily connoisseur viewer LOL. But I bought it anyway and wear it as a tunic top. Still looking for a full length version like you have! I get compliments every time I wear it! You look gorgeous!
Hi Jennifer, I’ve had to completely re think my wardrobe this year. Early in the spring I bought a couple of pieces for office wear, a Boden pencils skirt and a knitted jacket. Because of COVID-19 I am now home working and smart office wear just feels wrong. My new skirt is packed away to make room for a new pair of chinos I have also opted for more relaxed shirts. I have also had some good reductions in the Boden sale and found two dresses to replace dress I’ve had for years. My daughter says I had them when she was in primary school, she has now been left senior school 7 years. Proof that quality and the capsule wardrobe work. In fact one I may keep for beach wear.
I really like your dress from Boden. It's a good color for you, too. I'm glad you were able to bring it back. I have some dresses similar to the Land's End dresses you have, but mine are maxi dresses. I get a lot of wear out of them. They are so comfortable!
ooh I clicked so fast. 🍿 I love your five year old dress. I'm in the same nursing phase- I have dresses from five years ago that I'm holding for when I fit into them again.
I love the Boden dress! Thank you for the update on the ten items! I'm in a hot zone too, and just committed to ten items for the first time. I was wondering how to handle extremely hot temperatures and necessary adjustments! Thank you!
Love your wardrobe for the summer. I recently bought two dresses but unfortunately they were not flattering on me at all. So I'll have to keep looking. I just had my third baby in March and this is our last baby so I'll be looking to finally update my wardrobe soon enough.
Hi Jennifer! I was hoping you would give an update on your wardrobe. Good to see the Boden dress-always loved that dress on you. Banana republic has a wonderful white linen dress that looks just like your Target dress, only sleeveless. I've had it for a couple months now and it is amazing. You should check it out!
That midnight blue floral dress is stunning on you! 💙💚💙💚💙💚 If I may suggest in place of the shorts, check out the “Caroline Jersey Romper” from Boden USA, it is very chic! (and also 50% off right now! )
Hello! I find your channel so very inspiring and recently purchased your book. I am curious, do you store older capsule items for later use (such as these beautiful dresses from five/one year ago)? Do you suggest tucking away well loved but still good condition items for future? Thank you!
I adore that Boden dress (I recently discovered the brand and very happy with my purchases). Can I ask why they didn’t make the cut at the start of the season though? My capsules seem to be the same clothes in rotation so I’m intrigued about “other” clothes in storage
Jennifer, do you have a lightweight denim skirt or flattering denim shorts in your wardrobe? If I’m home (private) I’ve worn those with my swimsuit top or a scarf tied into a halter top on the rare excruciatingly hot day here. ** Also, the golf club pro shop often has adorable, quality shorts and skorts. Nongolfers might not think to shop there. X
Everytime I see your earrings, I'm reminded of the "Self-Portait in a Straw Hat" (1782, National Gallery, London) by Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun. She wore similar earrings.
White pants dilemma: years ago, we had outdoor redwood furniture (all natural) and invited guests for a picnic. How shocked I was when people wearing white pants/shorts had the stain on their backsides (from where they sat down on the bench). After that, we didn't go spastic and bought plastic furniture.
Do you swim in your pool? I find I’m in and out of the pool with my kids throughout the day. I hardly ever actually get dressed in the hottest days of summer. I wouldn’t change it though. Such a brief time they are small. I rather them see me in the pool having fun and not worrying about looking perfectly made up each day.
What fabric is the dark blue dress? I'm trying to get some dresses to add to my wardrobe, but the climate where I live is 90F year-round and fabrics like polyester aren't comfortable to wear here. What fabric do you recommend for a very hot climate?
Just a thought, but what you recommend for people who chose not to wear dresses for a 10 item wardrobe. I know you feel dresses are the way to go but please give ideas for others please.
Since you enjoy jumpsuits, have you considered a gauchos or split skirt? Wish I could see the alterations on your dress; the tailor in me is so curious! Did you do a hair treatment that darkened your hair or is it editing? Looks great! Julie 🌷
Hi, Jennifer, I realize you didn't ask for our opinions, but I'm giving mine anyway: I do not care for the Skye shorts you are considering. I don't think they look modern; I think they look bulky and, because of the extra fabric, would likely become hot in your California summer weather. Plus $135 for one pair of shorts seems a bit pricey. Just my opinion.
I kept some things from pre-pregnancy like the Boden dress that I hoped to fit into again. But otherwise, I donate most items that I feel finished with.
I love wearing dresses in the summer. So much more comfortable than shorts.
Dear Jennifer, the Boden dress is so fabulous on you..I think bold colors and prints in the right combination bring your brilliance out.. yeah to more colors..lots of love
I love the Bowden dress! And the sea foam dress.

The Borden dress is beautiful on you
Yes! For sure keep the denim dress. You look great in it. Fall will be the perfect time for it. :)
Yeah! The Boden dress is back! I love this dress it’s gorgeous. Great that you kept it and amazing you can fit it again after 2 pregnancies.
Thank you, Mirjam!
I’m glad the green/blue floral dress is back in action. The colours are very flattering on you and the cut and style is perfect for you.
Jennifer you look so alive and stunning in the Boden dress. The colors really compliment you. Love your longer hair and your makeup is beautiful.

I remember the dress :-) SO beautiful!
I still think the 2015 dress is a great one... I love the colours and shape.
That Boden dress has such beautiful colors! What a fun surprise for us long-term viewers to see it make a reappearance!
Thank you! Yes!
Off topic- the bedroom is stunning.
I love how you customized that dress!!! I love dresses. I gave up shorts and skirts years ago. They fit my belly weird.
Love that Boden dress!!!
Very elegant and beautiful. Thank you very much Mam.
Beautiful adjustments you made to your wardrobe based on our warm weather here in Southern California. I remember that pretty Boden dress and your Mer-Sea wrap looks beautiful with its colors, along with the Lands End encore making another appearance. That Boden Dress is amazing on you Jennifer! I loved it before and I'm glad that you held on to it. The colors and cut are perfect for you. Yay! The Sea glass dress returns! Thank you, Robin! I feel like the Lands' End dress looks so nice on you because the length looks longer. For some reason it's shorter on me and I know you're taller than I am. It's a mystery! But it will be fun to see it through this summer. Love you!
It’s because I ordered the Tall size. 😁 The length you have is perfect for you! 💛

I remember the Bodin dress! And I love it. I would buy it if I could find it somewhere ☺️
Who needs TV when one can watch inspiring videos like this one!
I've always loved that Boden dress! It looks fantastic 👌
Oh I have loved seeing the Boden dress over the years!!
A couple of years ago I spent practically the whole summer rotating between 2 Lands Ends dresses, they are so comfortable and flattering. Your new room is just 👌.

Thank you, Nikki! I just might cut off then sleeves :)
I agree the white dress would look lovely with those same style sleeves and make it easier to wear both summer and spring :)
Regarding those white shorts what would Madame Chic say about them!!!! Just reading your books hehe! X
I agree- the sleeves could be lovely shaped and shorter!
Niamh
Thank you, Niamh! I have subscribed to your channel xx
Me too! I'm working on it!!
I think a shorter sleeve on the white dress would look nice. Yes, to the shorts!
Yay!🎉 I am so glad you posted this. Great insights into styling for the season change & future planning for the Fall.
Woohoo! I remember that Boden dress from back in the day. So glad to see it return to the fold. It looks great! Timeless!
I love those two dresses ❤ oh my gosh you look so pretty in them xx
Thank you, Yasemee!
Love the Boden dress! I hope they bring that pattern back. I also just ordered Connoisseur Kids, and I'm so excited!
I Love it! You look beautiful in this dress. I do the same thing with my clothes: put it away for a while and then take them out to relove it
Hello Jenny...please how do you get everything done...do you have a bullet journal
Thank you, Nikki!
So with the Boden dress for example do you just put it away in storage thinking you might bring it back? That is good to know!
I was so excited to see the Boden dress again! That was always a favorite of mine.
Another video?! You are spoiling us! :)
I needed to get this one out, haha
I love the Boden dress! Thank you for the update on the ten items! I'm in a hot zone too, and just committed to ten items for the first time. I was wondering how to handle extremely hot temperatures and necessary adjustments! Thank you!
TG the dress now fits -- thanks to your wonderful eating habits and the rebounder!
I love the Biden dress. The blue and green is just beautiful! 💙💚
Love that Boden dress! P.s. be brave - cut the sleeves!!! 🤣
Any new summer extras like a straw hat or straw purse?
Nothing new...
Thank you!
I still managed to fit into a yellow dress that I bought 24 years ago😄.
I bought this dress when my daughter was 4 months old.
The best feeling!
Wow! Congratulations on a job well done!
X
Jennifer, what color Mer Sea wrap do you have? It looks light grey, is it whisper? It's a beautiful soft color.
Jennifer, you look AMAZING after having 4 children!!!
What earrings are you wearing? They are beautiful
Everytime I see your earrings, I'm reminded of the "Self-Portait in a Straw Hat" (1782, National Gallery, London) by Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun. She wore similar earrings.
I looked up the painting. Very beautiful!
Do you wear a slip under any of your skirts or dresses?
Since you enjoy jumpsuits, have you considered a gauchos or split skirt? Wish I could see the alterations on your dress; the tailor in me is so curious! Did you do a hair treatment that darkened your hair or is it editing? Looks great! Julie 🌷
Those would be great!
I'm wondering how many clothing items you own that are not in your capsule wardrobe
I kept some things from pre-pregnancy like the Boden dress that I hoped to fit into again. But otherwise, I donate most items that I feel finished with.
