Amazing walk! Well done! Amazing weather too. We've been not far from there on last Saturday of November doing Cruachan Ridge. We had a great day too. It is such a beautiful area! 😍😍👍👍
Thank you! What a cracker of a weekend that was! Not looking so good this weekend ☹️. Will you ever do full videos of your walks? Your drone footage is amazing and it would be nice to see the whole walk?? Cheers again! Paul
Hya thanks for taking us on the hike. I often look to Ben Lui when im hikling round Loch Awe below Cruachan, and wondered where the best route is from, but never checked it out. Weve had some stunning days and you sure had one if them. FANTASTIC😁 Love to see wee Paddy. Thanks again..... Alioban
Thanks Alioban! Of the two routes I've done this is by far the best! the other may be easier in incliment weather but you don't see all the grandeaur of the mountain! a cracking day out! Paul.
Great to see this hike up Ben Lui Paul. Like you I'd climbed the hill from the other side a while ago, but then approached from Dalrigh around 5 yes ago on a mid October day. The corrie is very grand and once you climb onto the ridge it definitely has an alpine feel to it. If you filmed that walk on 25th Nov I was over at Stob a Choire Odhair that day. ATB Derek
Cheers Derek! What a day eh! Absolutely perfect conditions and that skyline 😎😎. Yeah I think it was that day and I was thinking that anyone out in the hills that day were in for a treat!! A much better approach this and a fantastic mountain! Paul
Great straightforward walk there Paul offering great views, what a day for it. The end of November seems to be a good time for decent weather if a bit chilly. Still remember how cold it was down at Loch Morlich this time last year. ATB Andy
It’s a fantastic route Andy! Much better than the other route! The last few weeks have been lovely and guess where we are heading this weekend! The Cairngorms ❄️❄️🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
Hi Paul. Great watching you on your "wee walks". Fine video, although your flashback to a previous trip did bring back some nightmarish memories of the bog in the trees when climbing from the A85😱!
Cheers John! I forgot just how miserable my last trip was and like you some wet and miserable memories came back when I rewatched that wee video! so much better this time and those views!! amazing...Hope your well mate! Paul,
Great video, what a day for it you had! I've always wanted to do Ben Lui but every time we go on holiday to Scotland we seem to end up no where near that area. Anyway, thanks for sharing, you have a new follower. Will keep an eye out for some more of your vids. Andy
Thanks Andy! Much appreciated! Yeah we had a cracking day, in fact the last few walks have been glorious. This is the best way to approach Ben lui I think 🤔 the other way up across the railway is a bit of a bogfest so avoid if you can. Hopefully you get a chance soon and get a day like ours! Thanks again mate! Cheers for the support. Paul
Yes we've done a few walks in the Lake District recently (closer to home for us) and November was a cracking month weather wise. Yes i've looked at that route from the railway and i had heard it was boggy. Will take your advice on board if we ever get up there. Andy@@PAADVENTURES1
Fantastic video Paul! I've never seen this route before and now that there's an option to avoid THAT bog, i'm keen! Cracking footage and great info. Thanks for uploading!
Cheers Kev! Next trip it’s going to be up the left hand ridge! Cracking mountain this and not too far away! Stay away from the tree bog though! Horrendous 😎cheers mate! Paulo
Another beautiful video Paul, stunning views on such a clear day, I came at it from other side and remember going knee deep in the bog even though there was a hard frost….fantastic mate, Steven 😊👍🏴🏴
Cheers Steven! I think that’s a bogfest all year round! If you do it again go from Dalrigh it’s a much better walk!! Cheers again mate! Hope your not too sore! Paul
Absolutely Stevie! A perfect day! It’s great walking towards the mountain and seeing it in all its glory rather than climbing up the other side and seeing nothing! Don’t know why this is not the recommendation on walk highlands?? Paul
@PAADVENTURES1 Paul it's been that long since I done it that I can't remember WH route for it. I do remember I done a Trip Report for it though for WH . It will be in amongst the TRs for it . I followed their route and done the 4 at that time
Stunning Mountain, Stunning Glen (apart from that scar of a goldmine, now just about in admin! seems there wasn't gold in them thar hills) Stunning Views up top - looked like a perfect day - 👍👍
Great wee video fantastic views like the graphs very clever mate brought back memories when I did same route on a wonderful spring day the cornices off the two summits were huge an amazing sight. A very beautiful mountain in my opinion when approaching it from the east as you did. Well done and thanks
Thanks Andrew! Such a better route that the other side! I didn't get to see any of the cliffs last time! this was so much better and one of the best looking mountains around I think! Fantastic!!! Cheers Paul.
Another excellent video..I too thought that Paddy piddled on the camera lol..superb views all around..absolutely loved the instrumental music, so perfectly matched with the landscape very emotional to me for some reason..well done Paddy on another excellent adventure..many thanks Paul and best wishes
Thank you so much Andy! now I'm emotional!,,,,, Absolutely lovely day and the perfect weather for a hike. Paddy loves these walks and docent usually pee on the camera.. I guess he was telling me to hurry up! thanks again mate,,,its very much appreciated.
Whow what a day. The way it should be.😊 I have seen your commentary before. The gentle communication of appreciation of the precious Scottish wild places... thx for posting. JMO.
Great day for it Paul love this mountain got the alpine look from that side, its a better walk form the dalrigh end rather than the bog fest at the other end . first time i done it i came up the the left hand side of the gully came across the plane wreckage was pretty spooked that day was all clagged in had a eery feeling about it 👻. ATB Ally 👍
Absolutely cracking day Ally! I'm sure there were a few happy folk out on the hills that day... I was thinking that the next time I visit I will head up the left hand side! Was it similar to the right hand side? It certainly looked a little more complex? Paul
@PAADVENTURES1 looked brilliant weather paul I was out on Saturday was quite similar but freezing and a wee bit windy at the tops, I lost the path that day on ben lui and ended up making my way up the left hand side by mistake but can remember going up was pretty steep I ended up turning back just before the top that day as the wind was so bad I was struggling to stand.
Loved it Paul👏👏 what a cracking mountain and what a cracking day. You had to be out on the hills in a day like that.☀️🏔 Defo the best way to do Ben Lui as you’ve got that magnificent views all the way when you walk in. Brilliantly captured again.👍 was that some new Jottnar clobber you were wearing.? You looked a wee bit more handsome in it.😜 Wee paddy looked knacked at the end.🤣🤣 Well done again mate, super hike. Thank you! Your absolutely right! My last visit, even though it was cloudy felt like walking up a different mountain! Getting to see this amazing mountain all the way as you walk in from Dalrigh is so much better! 👍👍. Not sure Paddy was overly impressed though! 😂😂😂. The phantom piddler 😎😎
Looks like a smashin day yous had there Paul.. stunning views 🏔😍 wee paddy looked knackered at the end there haha. I'm planning on doing the corbett beinn chuirn next to Ben lui , would I be able to cycle up that path and have somewhere to dump the bike? How far a walk in is that mate ? 🫡🤜🤛
Yeah it was a cracking day David! An amazing mountain and the perfect weather! Yeah you can very easily cycle in all the way to that mountain. It’s a cracking track and will get you there in no time. It’s around 3 miles maybe? 👍👍. Wee paddy loves the mountains but he also loves lying next to the fire afterwards 😂😂😂! Paul
Thanks so much! Yeah I capture these wee walks on my phone. I have tried GoPros and bigger cameras but find the phone the easiest which still gives a reasonable quality. Yeah I always think the water under the ice looks almost alien 🥴. Cheers again! Paul
Yeah there is pretty much an engineered path all the way to the Coire, then a reasonably good path all the way to the top! could be difficult if there is lying snow! some horrible run offs! Paul.
Beautiful scenery. Thank you for taking us along on your walk.
Thank you! It’s a lovely wee area this and well worth a visit 👍👍👍Paul
