As a software developer, I can attest to you that solving a problem incorrectly occurs literally far more often than you think. I've solved so many problems incorrectly so many times, quite often having to solve a problem a half dozen different ways before it's correct. Things are hard to get correct sometimes. At any point in life. Kudos for the perseverance to get it right!
When the trackers start wandering off, It often mean that the tracker was hit by a reflected beam from one of the lighthouses. This will mess up the position. So if you notice it start drift, take of the headset and check if there is a blank surface near. Cover it and check again. You continue cover blank surfaces until the trackers stop wandering off when you are on that particular spot in the room. You can often imagine how a beam bounce if you check the direction of the lighthouses and can spot the issue quickly. Tips is to use USB 2 because USB 3 cause compatibility issues. I use a powered USB 2 hub with 4 trackers and it works fine. You need to place the watchmen's (dongles) quite far apart from each other and away from your computer and any other equipment. Tips is to place them under the sofa. But to use a USB controller with individual channels did give you good results, will try that myself. Another tips is to use indoor shoes to fit the trackers onto, as you can tighten trackers firmly onto the shoes. At 8:42 I see that you got the lighthouse in a bad angle. It send out light at 150 degrees (120 vertical), so it looks like you lose 60 degree of light straight into to wall. Tips is to make a plan. Draw your room and create small 150 degree half circles and place them to cover most of the area.

Wow, this comment blew up fast. For additional wisdom, the belt I'm using is an elastic belt with a plastic buckle. I prefer the non-clip style of buckles because they're really annoying to take off, and despite everything, I've had no issues with mine falling off by accident. Though I am using a 3D printed holder, you could still use something like a hard piece of plastic to act as a brace for the bolt (just cut 2 T shapes on the side so you can slip the belt in).

To get the same quality of tracking on arms, you need a tracker for each shoulder. But then we get into real world. Your calibration data isn't going to be perfect. Neither is tracking data - there will always be some drift, some pops, some occlusions. All these joints we've mentioned with almost no rotation? They do have some rotation, and it can matter to some subtle movements. This is why a mocap suit for professional capture is absolutely covered with trackers. You have at least one marker per bone, and in most cases, several. Granted, outside-in tracking only gives you positions and you have to deal with crossings, but even then, a motion capture will read about an order of magnitude more degrees of freedom than you'd need to reconstruct motion in perfect world, because that's what you need to get quality. Do you need that sort of quality to stream a game of Beat Saber? Nope. Even without shoulder tracking, so long as you get good capture from each tracker, you'll have something quite reasonable. I'd really like to see someone tackle this sort of project, and I'm also interested in what sort of quality can you get, and how well would it compare to traditional motion capture setups.
Yea but he would need some crazy USB ports for that.
Linus: "Now, I have particular issues with Number C"
*GUGA NOISES INTENSIFY*
Guga?
We cooked this one with peanut butter and USB C.
Hello everyone, welcome back to Sous Vide Everything!
@@marcusrauch4223 a TH-camr who does sous vide (sous vide everything and guga foods) , he always says "number a, number b, and number c"

Linus brain: Uhmm, what???

it's right next to the letter 4
"Hows my motion now? A little m ore natural?" Proceeds to teleport up side sown hanging by one leg
The new intro, that's a hit, it's really good!
Agree
Linus: "Man this is some of the nerdiest stuff that I've ever done"......Does he not watch his own videos???
something along the lines of a firetruck review
Firetruck review is so good! I watch that on repeat all day long
"How many USB port do I need for a full VR setup?"
**YES**
Thank you for those insights. It helps me to understand my Vive Pro. I also had issues with trackers.
First Linus's Balls Drop now He wants to be a girl? DAMN!
Killz Purple not a Girl, a waifu!

I would definitely vibe with a green living room what are you talking about Linus?
What does the logo by your name mean?
@@fk0692 he's a member of the channel, where you can press "join" besides the subscribe button
Adam __. me too it’s cheaper for me to paint my room green instead of buying a green screen
yeah green is good for your eyes
I think Livonne content might just be lockdown's greatest gift to the world.
Backtrack: Saving lives is lockdown's greatest gift. This is a strong contender, though.
"Fresh day, fresh perspective"
*avatar having a stroke*
The future: Sandals with sensor adapters.
Remember kids, you saw it here first (I mean if not Linus then who?)
"ive always dreamed of making myself a waifu and now i can do it" -Linus 2020
The subtitles spelled it WIFOO
This makes me appreciate the fully body VR suit that CodeMiko wears so much more... none of the lightboxes or cables or radio interference.... just wears a suit....albeit $15,000. I wonder if Linus has ever seen CodeMiko's streams...absolutely insane what she's coded! In VR her avatar pulls out a mobile phone, which mirrors her real mobile phone screen...attention to detail is nuts!
Linus hangingfrom his ceiling.
Me: CEILING GANG! BOOOO

Never thought I’d see the day Omotea makes it onto an episode of LTT lol

Omotea is amazing
Yeah of all the others he did select the best one out there...
Linus: "hey what can i say"
Me: oh i bet he's going to say he always wanted to be in Tron or something.
Linus: "I've always wanted to turn myself into a waifu"
Me: *cereal guy spitting meme* WTF
Every VR streamer in the world was like:
Person A: "Should we tell him?"
Person B: "Nah. He'll figure it out eventually." XD
tell him what

And the solution wrong
imagina a doctor saying that to you after a long surgery
"But I fixed it incorrectly."
Um... Linus, that's called not fixing it.
4:57 Hey kids, there's nothing like having a father you can look up to with a deep feeling of respect and admiration.
Petition for Linus to make a “Let’s Get Physical” or “Maniac” music video in VR, complete with full dance choreography.

anime lovers: i would love to see Linus as a anime character
Linus: say no more
I ran into similar issues WAY back in the day trying to get PSEye camera's to track my Rift DK2 so I could have sudo room scale. Similar solution, new USB card and it worked a lot better till I realised I needed to pay $40 for software that didn't always work.
I think at this point a kinect would still be a more reliable option if you're always facing the same way. Or 3 if you're not, they're pretty cheap now. Though 3 might suffer the same issues
Keep from 7:14 to 7:22 and make an audition tape for Riverdance
