I never really recommend automatic scooters as there are many faults with them but expats here seem to love them. Yeah, maybe a standard type small bike in the 200-300 cc range. You can get a decent used one from 50k and up which would be the same price of a new scoot. Just stay away from higher mileage or older used ones and you should be ok.
Great vid. I was wondering if you can confirm for me that the prices on new bikes is ALL IN. Back home you can easily add 15-20% to the price with taxes and documentation fees as well as PDI. Thanx.
Yes, excellent question, the price advertised includes tax, license and dealer prep etc. It does not include and aftermarket accessories which may be already bolted on, like in the case of the Indian Scout I looked at with the bags etc., and it does not include delivery anywhere, that price is for taking delivery at the dealership.
@@Rides4Kickz Excellent, thanks. The prices seemed similar to hime bur with dealer prep and taxes and the better exchange rates Thai manufactured bikes are ~20% cheaper out the door. Thanks again.

Can you buy a bike in Bkk if you're residing out of Bkk? You need to de-register the bike ship it out and re-register at your province of residence right?
Yes, so if it is a new bike, they may not want to give you a temporary red plate if you are taking it out of the province but used bikes will have plate already, if the plate is expired have them renew it and then whenever you get it home, just go to an inspection station with the green book and tell them you want to change plates to your home province and they should be able to help you with that for a fee.
Excellent tour. I’m in Bangkok now, and you had a good tip on checking out DBigBike. Former sport bike racer, so really cannot imagine riding on the street like you do everywhere. There used to be a track near Pattaya, that had club racing, and maybe also track days. You know about that track?
Yes, it's called Bira Circuit. You can find them on facebook. A local group just had a track day out there today. Usually they allow access during a couple days in the middle of the week.
Very enjoyable video as I am looking for a nice bike here myself -- .. but Dude.. where was the cannabis leaf shirt ???-- 🙂... you were out of character !
Hi Lucas... Hope all is good with you... Ktm own husqvarna and have done since 2013 if my memory serves me right... Kindest regards Andy,Herefordshire, England
Asking for a bit of help please mate, i'm coming for a year or two next month (at least) to rent a bike will cost about 1,500B a month or 18,000B a year, would it be worth me buying a second hand bike & is there anywhere in Pattaya that sells these? up to about 50,000B, thanks.
There’s an Indian dealer near me in Nonthaburi. In fact, it’s nearby a whole lot of dealers, Triumph, Harley, Kawasaki etc on a roundabout - Rachapruek.
They may not have Indians in Pattaya but there's no shortage of cowboys. All of them driving taxis. (If you don't understand sorry, I realised it may be an English expression meaning rogue)
Lucas What's the prevalence of bike theft in Pattaya? I'm sure it happens, but I've never seen any stories about someone losing their bike. Nor have I seen any high tech locks among the accessories you've shown us. Thanks
9:15 I am in total agreement with you on Indians being better built and engineered than Harley D and the heat put off by the big air-cooled Chief model is a real issue. A friend has one he installed a leather flap like shield that protects the inside of his legs from the heat off the rear cylinder.
I assume the import tax for bikes is the same as cars? What bikes are manafactured in Thailand ? I’d never pay massive import fees for a particular brand
Yeah, having final assembly done in Thailand lowers the price quite a bit. But even with the large Japanese manufactures like Honda and Kawasaki, some of the models are assembled here and others are assembled in Japan, so it's a mixed bag.
They make a lot of bikes there. IIRC almost all Triumphs, a lot of 650 Kawasakis and 650 or750 Hondas, Ducati, and BMW (F900GS I think). There's also quite a lot of scooters made there as well.
Hey Lucas thanks for the view on the Indian shop I’ve been waiting for that for a long time. If you get a chance to go for a test ride on the scout I think you’ll really like it. I’ve had mine now since 2018 in fact I just did a trip from Edmonton to Vancouver Island. It was a lot of fun.

Will have to see if I can find the Dirt shop...
Motto Guzzi engines are V twin with longitudinal crankshaft horizontally mounted, no wonder you didn't want to say it. LOL.
Ah, the horizonal mounting might be problematic 🤣😂
Hi lucous, please make video on camping equipment shops in Bangkok.
There are around 8 - 10 shops on Google map.
Yes, camping is popular right now 👍
can I know what model is that at the 14:10 minute? the one with the gold rims?
That is a Kawasaki Z400 in the "Spark Black" paint scheme.
Excellent tour. I’m in Bangkok now, and you had a good tip on checking out DBigBike. Former sport bike racer, so really cannot imagine riding on the street like you do everywhere. There used to be a track near Pattaya, that had club racing, and maybe also track days. You know about that track?
I think he went to bike races at either that, or other track, in an episode several months ago.
Yes, it's called Bira Circuit. You can find them on facebook. A local group just had a track day out there today. Usually they allow access during a couple days in the middle of the week.
@@jorgemonserrate7070 Thanks. I haven’t been there, but watched some short youtube vids of some races. Entertaining 555!!
@@Rides4Kickz That’s the one. Named after Prince Bira, who was quite into auto racing, if I recall correctly.
There’s a vlog of the Pattaya Track Day, about a year ago. 👍
I am not a motorcycle rider, but I always enjoy your videos on motorcycle 👍🏽
Awesome, thank you 👍🙏
Do you have the email of Bees Rooms you did in a previous video? I don’t use Facebook. Thanks.
Very enjoyable video as I am looking for a nice bike here myself -- .. but Dude.. where was the cannabis leaf shirt ???-- 🙂... you were out of character !
Haha, there are leaves on the back of the shirt 🤣
Hi Lucas...
Hope all is good with you...
Ktm own husqvarna and have done since 2013 if my memory serves me right...
Kindest regards Andy,Herefordshire, England
Great Thanks Andrew 👍
Your link for Dbigbike is same as Indian
oops, I'll fix it.
Is that the one on Rama 5?
@@Rides4Kickz yes, that’s the one. Near an overpass. I sent the Google map coordinates but they won’t post
great stores. Wish you would do a scooter vlog.
Maybe one day! 👍
@@Rides4Kickz I'm moving to Phuket in January & looking to buy a scooter just to get around the island. Hope you do it before then :)
Why would you ever ship the bike when you can ride it?
Thank you Loucous 👍😎🙏
Welcome Mitch 👍👍🙏
Hope you could find any interesting old bikes in the magazine.
I hope so too, gotta get down there and pick that up, keep forgetting, thanks for the reminder. 👍
Thanks
It really isn't much of an issue here. There are occasionally thefts but not like years ago.
There used to be an ongoing joke by Thais whenever I went to Cambodia: Please ask them if they have seen my motorbike.
@@irrationalmale Kind of like our California stolens ending up in Tijuana
!
Nice bikes Lucas ... But 11 times Vee wash her hair with shampoo in that salon ... WHY? 😅😅😅
It seemed that way, she was sat there before I went in for a shampoo and she was still getting it done when I was finished and out the door 🤣🤣👍🙏
Amazing paint on those Indians 🙏
Thanks, yeah I would agree 👍🙏
9:15 I am in total agreement with you on Indians being better built and engineered than Harley D and the heat put off by the big air-cooled Chief model is a real issue. A friend has one he installed a leather flap like shield that protects the inside of his legs from the heat off the rear cylinder.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of chaps, I figured they would run hot 😂🤣
"THE WORLDS FASTEST INDIAN" with ANTHONY HOPKINS is a good MOVIE👏🍿 Incidentally, that's what all my EX-GIRLFRIENDS call me in bed🤷🤦🤭
Yup, seen it 👍👍🙏
I assume the import tax for bikes is the same as cars?
Wow, that sounds like a beautiful ride this time of year. 👍🙏
