  • A panel of lawmakers introduced legislation that would strengthen Idaho’s “stand your ground” law by requiring counties to reimburse anyone charged in a slaying if a judge or jury concludes they acted in self-defense.
Sen. Christy Zito, a Republican from Hammett, said the proposal is needed to protect people like Kyle Rittenhouse, who used an assault-style rifle to shoot three people during a street protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020.
The bill would require the county or prosecuting state agency where a person is charged to reimburse the defendant for lost wages, court costs and other expenses if the defendant is found to be not guilty by reason of self-defense.

Why don't do it for all people found not guilty of the crimes they are charged with?

If it's self defense, why are they defendants?

Because the district attorney decides to prosecute and try to make it look like they murdered someone for no reason. Then they have to pay tons of money for lawyers fees. In many cases people who acted in self defense aren’t charged and don’t have to go to court. It only happens when DAs want to punish someone for defending themselves even though all the evidence shows they acted in self defense.

Bills like these also have to clearly state that you can’t go out looking for trouble. Like Kyle.

Dam anyone see 🐒 see monkey do in Idaho state legistlatures and Govonors offices. The case this kid took AR 15 hunting for trouble crossing state line he wasn't a heroes at any means . If that kid with loaded AR 15 would of stayed at his uncle's car lot it would of been ok too protect his uncle's property . But when he went looking for trouble he was heading into trouble he knew it a big miscarriage of Justice too say the least . This state legistlatures is sponsoring vigalanty Justice should been handled by local police officers . Believe a person has a right too defend yourself and property but this kid was want too be cop . He headed into the trouble looking for trouble . And why was did cops let 17 year old kid head into this troubled area with loaded AR 15 in video cops just waved him on not normal think it was set up . Something don't add up in this case the Judge needs investigated as does prosecution in this case . Everytime Texas write some moronic law Idaho legistlatures jumps on bandwagon hence 🐒 see monkey do mentality is austounds the mind. God Bless one and all be safe get vaccines thank you .

Delusional statement from someone who swallowed what they “heard” since it bolstered their personal beliefs.

Brian Russell It’s obvious you didn’t watch the trial or see any of the filmed evidence. And stop listening to lying media….because Kyle didn’t cross state lines….one of his parents lives in that state and he was already visiting. The video proved he didn’t go looking for trouble…..he was being chased by those men. Even one of The Young Turks said she watched the video and saw him clearly being chased by those men. One of them tried to grab his gun and another pulled his gun and pointed it straight at him. Kyle never pointed his gun at anyone except to shoot them when they attacked him….he also got attacked by someone hitting him in the head with a skateboard. The video evidence doesn’t lie…..and if you can’t see clear facts like that then I pity you…..your brain doesn’t work. Even the guy that pulled the gun on Kyle admitted on the stand that he pulled the gun on Kyle and only then was he shot at by Kyle. Kyle wasn’t randomly shooting at people…..he only shot those who tried to harm him…..and there were many other people running around and near Kyle and none of those people were shot and he didn’t point his gun at any of those people. He precisely shot only those that threatened his life and attacked him.
