Holy crap! I made a comment just a few minutes ago on whether you sell this track or not. I was re-watching this video again, just to listen to the track you were playing and realized who you were... you're John Selway from Smith & Selway. Dear all that is unholy, I've been listening to your music for over 20 years! I know your track, Move!, has been the pinnacle track for progressive house DJ's but my personal favorite was the World EP with Inworld & Outworld. Those tracks really got me into the more techno inspired music with deeper sophistication. Are you ever going to release those tracks?
Big FAN and my deepest respects! You're an incredible producer.

Thanks for sharing! Just transitioned to Ableton and this was insightful to see how you integrate with your hardware gear.

I have a tr8 and tb3 running into the external in because I like the onboard side compressor… my problem is this…. How can I put the kick on the assignable out while still being able to take advantage of the side compressor?

How do you separate instrument for recording? Is it made in the Focusrite?

cool tut John. You could have used 4 or more aux return channels and recorded those to have just effects recorded without dry signal. Just my 2 pence.

Was Ableton acting as the master clock but using the sequences on the internal sequencers of the 303 and 101? Also, how did you get the separate channels from the effects processed audio? Thanks

How do you deal with noise? I find USB midi so noisy. Somehow the unshielded USB power bleeds into the audio.

Hey @j h In this video John is using midi over usb on the Roland synths. If you are using a daw like Ableton I would recommend even checking out it's stock effects, if you combine a few with the right patch

@@343labs so from a 5pin midi would I need a midi thru box or a midi splitter? I’m trying to connect two synths at the same time but I want to control them separately in the daw
