I love the cedar with the dark brown metal it looks rich. The contrast is perfect & looks beautiful…. Jim and Lydia from Cancun Country living are putting metal on their vaulted living ceiling. Metal on the ceiling looks great too. Metal is becoming a thang!!! Blessings
Try staining one piece on each side of the walnut in the walnut stain. Use two test pieces, tack them up to see if you like it. I think it would give better balance of color to the windows. Good Luck

Just curious, why are you charring the wood? Is it for looks? It is not enough for a preservative step. i.e. (Shou Sugi Ban)
we needed walnut stain to mix with the redwood but didn’t have any. so we charred the wood under the red stain to make it look more brown.
