    Hi Andrew. Very helpful as I have 3 of these reels in the UK and 2 in the US. The Piscifun Alijoz is a killer baitcaster for 300 size applications.

    You should feel the new Curado M. Has absolutely no play at all at the main gear axle, when you pull the handle outwards in the main axle direction. Every other reel ive had has some play, but this has none at all. The same in one of the knobs, the other has just a very very small wobble. Far better than anything else ive had in ny hands. Im really really impressed by this reel and is most definitely going to buy another one.

    Thanks for posting the drag clicker how-to. I ordered the kit you recommended and just finished the retrofit on my recently purchased Alloy M. (I may not have ordered the reel if I had noticed it did not include one out-of-the-box...same for the Alijoz that I also ordered...)

    For someone on the fence, I had a Tatula 150 and this one for a while. Piscifun performs not even close to the Tatula. Only after 2-3 fishing trips, alloy m grinds terribly. Tatula is far more better than alloy m. Now Alloy M is a paperweight and I regret to give it a try😢

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing. Can't comment on Tatula but my Alloy M after 100s of sessions is still buttery.

      Don't regret it, lube it instead. It should be fine. Somethimes they come to dry from the factory. My Torrent started to grind so i dismantled it, lubed the gears, put the oil on bearings and now it works perfectly for more than 2 years.

    • @techd9861
      @techd9861 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aripenik Indeed, my Torrent works well without lubring. Problem seems be solved by asking Piscifun for a spare main gear. Now I am waiting for the coming season to give it more chance. I did lube the first one. However every time when I was using the Alloy M, I felt I am grinding coffee beans. Hope I can love the M after the coming season. Tight lines.

    Check if the drag power is still the same after drag click installation. In my Curado 301k it worked good (sound and fitting), but from 10kg drag before installation I got maybe 5-6 kg after. So I took it out and installed original washers without AliExpress kit. Please give me info about drag power now in your Alloy M .

    • @AndrewsKnots

      Obviously it's less but good enough for me. The clicker for me is much more important.

    Hi Andrew, you are one of my new favorites here on youtube.
    I have ordered some of the reels you have reviewed. I got the seasir cast x2 yesterday and waiting on the soloking GKA 200 pro and seasir Megacuda.
    Today i ordered this reel. The piscifun alloy M, it looks really impressive. Do you know if the handle have a 8x5 or 7x4 opening ?? 🙂

    These reels are not saltwater-rated as Piscifun would lead you to believe with their "made with saltwater-grade components" statement. I had been in contact with Piscifun's customer service in China, and they flat-out told me that these reels aren't made for saltwater as the bearings aren't sealed nor shielded. So, the 2 Alloy M reels I bought were relegated to freshwater fishing only, and bought Penn's low-profile Fathom reels in 200 and 300 sizes for saltwater. I also bought the Alloy X spinning reels in sizes 5000, 4000, and 3000. After using the 5000 on a surf rod on 3 trips to the salt, the reel started making a coffee-grinding sound. I never even splashed it or dunked it. The Alijoz also isn't made for saltwater either. So, having spent close to $600 on six Piscifun reels that I was misled into believing they were saltwater-ready, to say I was pissed off was putting it mildly. Stick with the name-brands, folks.

      I guess it just depends on what you get, I’ve seen a lot of inconsistent reviews with these reels, I’ve used my carbon x pretty heavily in the surf throwing light lures for trout and what not. Been dunked tons of times, I’ve abused the hell out of this reel but it still works like it did on day 1.

      Are we gonna be here complaining about a 65 dollar reel that comes without sealed bearings? Lol

    • @l.i.archer5379
      @l.i.archer5379 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Guillo24i7 Absolutely. If they're advertising the reel having 'saltwater-rated components', then the reel should be as such, but it's not. I'm calling them out on their false advertising.

    • @Guillo24i7

      @@l.i.archer5379 Exactly,, they advertise the reel having saltwater resistant (components) but it doesn’t say that the reel is 100% saltwater proof.

    I was told this drag clicker would fit the Spark Pro which I just purchased. How did you discover which one to buy? Does the seller accept measurements and then recommend a clicker they think will fit?

    Does the drag clicker feel like a cheaper drag system than stock? It didn't seem like you were able to crank it down and basically lock it.

    • @techd9861
      @techd9861 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you could find a second hand Alloy M at a good price, give it a try. For a baitcaster, the learning cure is steep. I sold my first baitcaster then stopped thinking about using any baitcaster for a year. It took a while for me to have the courage to give it another try. As soon as you mastered it, you will definitly love the fighting put on the baitcaster set. Comparing with spinning reel, the difference is day and night.

      If you have enough cash buy the alloy M but really, it doesnt matter IF you use both of them in the fresh water, sure, alloy m is in aluminum but xcs is full carbon with dual braking, overall, id say that the carbon xcs is mainly centrifugal version while the alloy m is simply a magnetic

  • @luispatino8315
    @luispatino8315 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The example you gave for the amount of force to turn the handle is completely inaccurate. There was no resistance on the spool nor was the spool tension adjusted to match the reel you were comparing it to. Any spool that is free spinning or without resistance, would require minimal amount of force to turn

    • @davidcloyd1296

      Right, but which reel when all are adjusted equally requires less force? This matters in the world of bfs because we’re usually retrieving very light lures and appreciate being able to detect every nibble.
