@@dzfeverframe6787 I have had this kind of configuration not long ago, and it was fine. You probably won’t be able to play on big online servers and too graphic heavy maps, bit I’m sure you could have a ton of fun ! That’s exactly what is shown in the video that hooked me to dcs, and you’ll evolve from there.
Good stuff. A lot of people are afraid to dive in because they let the radar and weapon systems intimidate them. But FC3 is a good start to get into DCS
@@trashyspeeds266 Anything PvP is going to be a sweat fest. I'm not sure what you mean there but there are tons of PvE training servers that are newbie friendly. I've been playing DCS for a long time and I still frequent those servers.
Coming from flying in Arma 3 and Microsoft flight simulator. I'm pretty confident in my ability to fly in DCS world. It's just so many choices and i like almost every plane in the game.
Amazing video! I'm been umming and aahhing about getting into DCS for years. This pushed me over the edge. Old skool player of F19 Stealth Fighter on Amiga 500 amongst others. Keyboard overlays FTW :)
@@alexsky88749 in a word, no. Whether I've forgotten or was just shot down at this point I can't recall. Although perhaps flying super low was the solution?
This is such an awesome video. I’ve been watching for a while now and I’ve always been intimidated by what I thought was a hard game to learn. This really makes it easy to get started. So thank you for this.
This was a great video Longshot! It really helps a ton! I've dabbled in DCS in the past but never put any time into it because of the keybindings being so aggravating. I just bought a new HOTAS and I'm starting my learning journey. I was an F-15 Avionics technician for 20 years so it's pretty cool to be able to "fly" one of them now.
Thank you for this video! It made me break out my X-56 and update DCS to give this a try. I have always found it intimidating to try and set up controls and what ones I was actually looking for!
I have the game, but not playing it due to a few reasons. One, getting the planes started - well that's been sorted thanks to this great video. Two, working overseas for extended periods meant I have to leave my joystick at home. Will definitely get one once I am back in the US again. Three, difficulty. Watching you and GS really is great, wish I could play like you guys.
Just got FC3 for my birthday along with a new t.16000m with the twcs. Just looking for videos on how to fly straight and level. Trimming was killing me last night. Thank you for this videos. I'll save this and come back to it to try my hand at BVR in a few days. Good luck to all the other beginners in the contest
Hey, I just downloaded DCS World today with the intention of picking up flightsimming again (after a hiatus of many years)! I'm glad I found your video!
Thank you so much for this video! It definitely makes it less intimidating. I've been wanting to learn but looked very difficult to learn. I've been watching and loving jets for over 60 years and I really want to learn how. I'm 68 and playing DCS is on the list. I had the great opportunity of flying in one of my customers airplanes.I was his mailman for 15 years. My customer was a veteran F15 pilot and he took me up in his Yak and he let me experience all the various dog fighting maneuvers. IT WAS AWESOME !!! Hopefully I'll get to learn to play.
I really appreciated this video. I started DCS years ago with A-10C and self-taught in all aspects. A bit challenging (and i’m a GA pilot). But feels like improvements and new planes have come faster that i could update and assimilate them … so i almost feel like i’ve gone backward. Plus i have fallen in love with rotary, so i like the idea of a playground for helicopters. This helps. Thanks.
Dang! I'm a newbie and I just bought FC3 last week. So excited for the winners. If you don't win, and you're passionate about aviation, it's worth the price. Also, I think DCS has an option to pay a small amount for a trial. Edit:(I stand corrected. The trial period is free.)
Long shot my friend 👊😎 You know it may seem a little odd, but in my case I felt it easier to go in the TC or the hornet for the FF. I jumped in the F-15C just mapped out the flight characteristics. Truly, I'm totally biased for the USN being an old navy rotor head. I really like the f 15C and deeply appreciate the tutorial. Going to save this one and map out the standards as you shown. Deeply appreciated brother. Thank you 🕊️
Well done LS. Love your tutourial. More of that, and when its out it is a great tool for beginners. Saying that and looking at the bookshaft and my A10. =).
I just bought FC3 (and the F18 for its training missions) but I don’t mind. I thought I had to learn step by step. This video is awesome. How do I setup the bandits?
Do you absolutely need TrackIR or VR to play or can you play without all this? Can you still rotate your camera effectively without TrackIR and VR? And what are you using in this video?
I just got started in DCS after finally getting my track ir5 setup. I am using one of those cheap throttle and stick setups and no peddles( they are my next buy lol) . Just have the frog foot and p-51 to use til can buy some bundles or planes. Lol
The thing that kept me from playing dcs was a dynamic campaign but that changed when i found out the custom dynamic campaigns mainly the Digital Crew Chief ( works the same way as Falcon 4.0 )
IT IS NOT RANGE WHILE SCAN!!!! It's range while SEARCH. TWS is Track while scan, as you have said. TWS = multi target tracking across a WIDE area. Target discrimination is reduced, as this is a lower radar transmit power setting. RWS = Range while search, which is designed to discrminite targets within a specific range setting, and it provides higher tracking fidelity than TWS. STT is the best way to get tracking information on a single target as maximum transmit and computing power are applied to the target to get all possible data points you want from that target. Some radars also have ACM (air combat mode), long range search, vertical acquisition (VACQ), velicity search with ranging (VSR) and more. It depends on the radar set and a few other factors.
i still have that cheap stick up in my loft, still going strong after 10 + years 😆 i now use x 56 and am totally lost when it comes to DCS! i have uninstalled the game twice now so am installing as i type and will follow the steps on your video - will let you know if it's third time lucky
While i agree with everything in this video, i want to ask if anyone knows what is broken in all FC3 mods since the latest update? For me CCIP and CCRP does not work in both Module and mods, if the mods are installed. I reported this on the forums and i was informed that this is a mod conflict, but no info on what is actually conflicting.
Gonna be confused when they cant re-arm because you dont always spawn with missiles. To re-arm you must have engines off and canopy open in Flaming Cliffs 3
A "Beginner's Guide"? So is this Instant Action? Training? A new Mission? Is it in the Caucasus? How do you set it up for 3 enemy targets? What weapons did you load? It seems we have a very different understanding of what it means to be a beginner.
