You should react to the Horlogy Trilogy from their album Polygondwanaland! The whole album is great, too, but Inner Cell, Loyalty and Horology are some of KGLW's best work!
Crumbling Castle is definitely considered their best by many, specifically the KEXP performance. If you can, you definitely gotta watch that full session in one go. The cohesion of their sets creates such an otherworldly vibe
Oh, the 'stache is fine. He can own that mullet, doesn't mean I can't say I don't like it, personally. My opinion is just that - an opinion. If you don't like that I'm voicing it, that's valid. We can disagree.
This song is very interesting because it started out as just some random thrashy metal song with a fun time signature from one their "collection of loose songs" albums from last year (yes they've made multiple of them) and it only had like a 8 or 16 bar drum solo in the original studio version. But as they've played it over the last year live they've built more and more into the drum solo that it's become an absolute monster of a setpiece. They really love playing it. I mention this because they just performed it at red rocks the other day and inserted a completely unreleased song from their upcoming album INTO THE DRUM SOLO. Phenomenal band.

Great post! I’m excited for your Gizz journey! Check out the KGATLW subreddit. Lots of discussions about songs and the lore behind their lyrics. You said it best, I haven’t been this excited about a band in a really, really, really long time!
I'm aware - it's my opinion that unless you're Tim Henson of Polyphia, they should have stayed in the 80s lol I just can't stand them, personally - not that my opinion matters
Absolutely LOVE this band!! What other tunes by them should i react to?? Comment and let me know!
Their KEXP sessions are superb. I specifically like Crumbling Castle. Easily my favorite band.
Iron Lung from KEXP sessions is amazing, but you can't go wrong with any of them
their new song dragon is very good

Aussies are the originators of the mullet+mustache combo. You let Joey be, he owns that.

"If Iron Butterfly and Metallica had a lovechild." I totally see/hear it!!
Amazing performance by Cavs (the drummer)
What were the three tunes you heard by them?? Would love to know. I love their Polygondwanaland album!
Gila Monster, Dragon and The Dripping Tap

The solo spot for the drums uses roto toms. Much of the song seems to be in 9/8.
Now do Their new video Dragon.
That was one I already watched previously
Im pretty sure those are rototoms
Yea
That's what rototoms look like! Ok!
@@mikenagoda super fun stuff

I think all song is 9/8, tempo is double pace the one you are counting.
I'm pretty sure most of it is in 9
It's easiest to count 3 three times
