    Do you recommend getting the add-on for the ribbed leaf bottom?

    Use a nylon bungee on the cradle. 😅 to give it slight drag.

    Hey Josh! I am having an argument with my business partner. Do you get any of these machines with a guillotine that can cut at a 45 degree angle?

    • @StartARainGutterBusiness
      @StartARainGutterBusiness  ปีที่แล้ว

      guillotines are all square cut. I do have 1 machine with a chop saw mounted in place of a guillotine.

    What kind of oil do you put on the guillotine blade and what’s the best way to apply it?

    • @christopherdobrosky8030
      @christopherdobrosky8030 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That oil only causes a problem if he use the wrong oil. We use the WD-40 specialized dry. It’s essentially a lithium grease but doesn’t really cause any problems with our seals. We spray it a couple times a week

    Hello!! Me and a friend is planning to start a new gutter business. Having a gutter machine is way more cheaper than buying the gutter from suppliers?

    I have the NEW tech Gutter machine on 6", at the beginning it used to scratch the top face on the gutter, don't know why, I used to put a pc of cardboard at the slot, to prevent it.

    KWM is hard to beat and the only brand I trust. I have a KWM Panther and have never had a problem. The only thing I’ve ever ran into is having to buff rust off a roller inside the machine but that’s gonna happen eventually

    Would you or anybody know how to service the gear oil in the gearbox attached to the electric motor? Just completed a motor swap and would like to know how to add the 90 weight oil that dripped out when I separated the motor from the gearbox.
    Thank you!

      should be a set screw on the top and side. the top is the fill and the side is the fill level

    Just starting out with a kwm 5 inch. What’s the best practice to minimize waste when running out machine at the end of a job

    • @StartARainGutterBusiness
      @StartARainGutterBusiness  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      measure to the back of the machine on your last gutter and add a few inches, cut coil with snips and run out your last gutter. Then trim gutter to length

    Thanks for the informative video, we’re a roofing company just getting into the gutter business. So these videos are helpful. I have a question! Do you absolutely need tandem axle trailers? I’m getting the Ironman jr 5” which means it weighs 800lbs, I can afford a 6x12 3500 lb rated trailer single axle. I can stretch my guns to buy a tandem I just don’t want to for a trailer that will only leave my shop approximately 10-20 times a year

    • @leolinehan2752
      @leolinehan2752 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      my buddy has a 12 foot single axle trailer and he has no issues with it. just remember each full roll of coil is about 200 pounds. it adds up quickly. on another note, you might be able to find a gutter guy to drop off the gutter to you and you install it yourself instead of spending the $$$ on a machine and trailer and all the other stuff for only 20 jobs a year.

    • @ozzy2753
      @ozzy2753 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@leolinehan2752 well that was always my plan, I actually always subbed the gutter jobs out. But after going through 5 different subs a year because they disappeared on me, stopped answering phone calls or texts. I’m getting really tired of dealing with others that don’t want the business. So it’s not really about making a lot of profit (even though I will) it’s about keeping the professional image as these subs have kept me waiting for months at times.

      Should work fine for a lower production setup. Probably just keep the speed down when traveling longer distances

    My 2 man crews average $9,800 per week in sales here in the Alabama/Florida gulf coast. I’ve tried to gather data on variables in other regional markets, but accurate information is difficult to acquire. Any chance you can provide me with the average your 2 man crews are installing in sales weekly? I don’t necessarily want exact amounts just averages. Thanks for the video really well made. All blessings.

      Thanks! We are very close to that, I expect to get 5k production out of each installer. We are able to do a little better in the summer and a little worse in the winter

      Are those averages based on all sales? Do you guys like contracting new build neighborhoods? What brings y’all the most traffic/sells?
